Distributed Mobility Management Strategy with Pointer Forwarding Technique

  • With the dramatic increase in mobile traffic in recent years, some of the limitations of mobility management frameworks have magnified. The current centralized mobility management (CMM) strategy has various problems, such as a suboptimal routing path, low scalability, signaling overhead, and a single point of failure. To overcome these weaknesses in the CMM strategy, the Internet Engineering Task Force has been discussing distributed mobility management (DMM) strategies. The fundamental concept of a DMM strategy is to distribute the mobility anchors closer to the users. While the distribution of mobility anchors results in low-cost traffic delivery, it increases the signaling cost. To reduce this higher signaling cost, we propose a new DMM strategy applying the pointer forwarding technique. The proposed strategy keeps the existing tunnels and extends the traffic path as much as possible. In this paper, we analyze the performance of the pointer forwarding-DMM strategy and discuss its pros and cons.

Dual Path Magnetic-Coupled AC-PDP Sustain Driver with Low Switching Loss

  • A cost-effective magnetic-coupled AC-PDP sustain driver with low switching loss is proposed. The transformer reduces current stress in the energy recovery switches which affects circuit cost and reliability. The turns-ratio can be used to adjust the sustain pulse slopes which affect gas discharge uniformity. Dividing the recovery paths prevents abrupt changes in the output capacitance and thereby switching losses of the recovery switches is reduced. In addition, the proposed circuit has a more simple structure because it does not use the recovery path diodes which also afford a large recovery current. By reducing the current stress and device count in the energy recovery circuit, the proposed driver may have decreased circuit cost and improved circuit reliability.

구간 추정 기반의 지연시간을 고려한 저비용 유니캐스트 라우팅 방식 (Low Cost and Acceptable Delay Unicast Routing Algorithm Based on Interval Estimation)

  • 멀티미디어 응용 서비스에서는 특정 시간 내에 데이터 전송이 이루어져야 하는 시간 의존성이 있다. 이러한 실시간 특성은 네트웍의 QoS 보장을 위한 중요한 요소이다. 네트웍 사용자의 증가와 응용 프로그램의 데이터 전송율의 증가로 네트웍 자원을 효율적으로 사용하기 위한 연구는 계속 진행되고 있다. 종단간(End-to-End) 지연시간 제한 조건을 만족하면서 최소 비용을 갖는(Delay Constrained Least Cost, DCLC) 경로를 찾는 문제는 이미 NP-hard 문제로 알려져 있다. 최소 지연시간 경로의 비용은 최소 비용 경로의 비용보다 상대적으로 높은 경로 비용을 갖으며, 역으로 최소 비용 경로의 지연시간은 최소 지연시간 경로의 지연 시간보다 상대적으로 높은 지연시간을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 극복하여 DCLC문제에 접근하기 위해 링크비용과 지연시간을 확률적으로 조합한 인자를 사용한 새로운 알고리즘을 연구하였다. 최근 Salama에 의해 제안된 DCUR 알고리즘은 최적에 가까운 알고리즘이나, 제안한 알고리즘은 DCUR 알고리즘과 비교하여 종합적인 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과에 의하면 노드 수 200에서 38% 이상의 효과를 보았다. 본 알고리즘의 특징은 선택의 요소로서 새로운 인자를 만들었고, 링크를 순차적으로 선택하지 않고 동적으로 선택하는 방법을 구현하였다는 것이다.

소형선박을 위한 IMU 센서와 GPS 기반의 경로 추적 시스템 (Path Tracking System for Small Ships based on IMU Sensor and GPS)

  • 최근 증가하고 있는 선박의 충돌 사고 예방을 위하여 인공지능 기반의 자율운항선박(Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship, MASS)에 관한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 자율운항선박 관련 연구들은 자율운항시스템의 크기와 비용으로 인해 주로 중대형 선박을 그 대상으로 하고 있으며, 여기에 사용되는 센서들은 소형선박에 탑재하기 어렵다는 문제를 지닌다. 따라서 이 논문은 소형선박의 자율운항을 위하여 GPS와 IMU 센서를 탑재한 경로 추적 시스템을 제안한다. GPS와 IMU 센서는 선박의 정확한 위치 파악을 위하여 활용되며, 이를 통하여 제안 시스템은 소형선박 모형을 수동으로 제어하여 경로를 생성하고, 이후 소형선박이 동일한 경로를 이동할 시 Pure Pursuit 알고리즘을 이용하여 경로를 추적하도록 한다. 그 결과, 이 연구는 경량화된 저가의 센서들을 이용하여 소형 선박의 자율운항 시스템을 저비용으로 개발할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Optimizing Network Lifetime of RPL Based IOT Networks Using Neural Network Based Cuckoo Search Algorithm

  • Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPLs) in Internet of Things (IoT) is currently one of the most popular wireless technologies for sensor communication. RPLs are typically designed for specialized applications, such as monitoring or tracking, in either indoor or outdoor conditions, where battery capacity is a major concern. Several routing techniques have been proposed in recent years to address this issue. Nevertheless, the expansion of the network lifetime in consideration of the sensors' capacities remains an outstanding question. In this research, aANN-CUCKOO based optimization technique is applied to obtain a more efficient and dependable energy efficient solution in IOT-RPL. The proposed method uses time constraints to minimise the distance between source and sink with the objective of a low-cost path. By considering the mobility of the nodes, the technique outperformed with an efficiency of 98% compared with other methods. MATLAB software is used to simulate the proposed model.

  • Comparison of one two-path single energy recovery circuit for plasma display panel (PDP) is shown in this paper. A single energy recovery circuit (SERC) is proposed to reduce cost for manufacturing PDP and there are two ways, one and two-path, in driving this circuit. Compared with one-path SERC, there are low power consumption, low surge current and high performance in two-path SERC. The results will be shown with 42-inch HD panel.

A Path Generation Algorithm of an Automatic Guided Vehicle Using Sensor Scanning Method

  • In this paper, a path generation algorithm that uses sensor scannings is described. A scanning algorithm for recognizing the ambient environment of the Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) that uses the information from the sensor platform is proposed. An algorithm for computing the real path and obstacle length is developed by using a scanning method that controls rotating of the sensors on the platform. The AGV can recognize the given path by adopting this algorithm. As the AGV with two-wheel drive constitute a nonholonomic system, a linearized kinematic model is applied to the AGV motor control. An optimal controller is designed for tracking the reference path which is generated by recognizing the path pattern. Based on experimental results, the proposed algorithm that uses scanning with a sensor platform employing only a small number of sensors and a low cost controller for the AGV is shown to be adequate for path generation.

A development of map building sensor system for mobile robot using low cost photo sensor

  • Mobile robot has various sensors for describing the external world. The ultrasonic sensor widely applied to the most mobile robot to detect the obstacle and environment owing to low cost, its easy to use. However, ultrasonic sensor has major problems: the uncertainty information of sensor, false readings caused by specular reflection, multi path effect, low angular resolution and sensitivity to changes in temperature and humidity. This paper describes a sensor system for map building of mobile robot. It was made of low cost PSD (Position Sensitive Detector) sensor array and high speed RISC MPU. PSD sensor is cost effective and light weighting but its output signal has many noises. We propose heuristic S/W filter to effectively remove these noises. The developed map building sensor system was equipped on a mobile robot and was compared with ultrasonic sensor through field test.

  • In this paper an alternative Active Matrix LCD technology is described with scalable, low cost processing. The Dual Select Diode AMLCD requires 60% lower capital investment in the array process than a-Si TFT arrays and results in 20% lower cost LCD modules. Development at several AMLCD manufacturers is in progress.

중국 저가항공사 서비스 만족도 및 재이용 의도에 관한 연구 (Empirical Study on Customer Satisfaction and Intention to Reuse in Chinese Low Cost Carrier Industry)

  • Purpose - In this study, we tried to find that the relationship between the perception of customers on the airline service quality, customer satisfaction, and intention to reuse in Chinese low-cost carriers industry. Design/methodology/approach - We conducted the empirical study for hypotheses testing using the survey data of experienced users in Chinese low-cost carriers service. In this study, reliability and factor analysis were conducted using SPSS 26.0, the path analysis was performed using AMOS 24. Findings - We found that the customer's perception of aviation operation, reservation/ ticketing, online information service provided by Chinese low-cost carriers are positively associated with customer satisfaction. In addition, it was confirmed that customer satisfaction is positively related to the intention to reuse. Research implications or Originality - Based on the results of analysis, it was confirmed that the basic sub-services of the airline are also important in the low-cost carriers services market.
