개선된 De-loading기법을 이용한 해상풍력 연계용 HVDC의 DC 전압의 제어방안 (DC-link Voltage Control of HVDC for Offshore Wind Farm using Improved De-loading Method)

  • This paper presents the DC voltage control method in DC link of High Voltage Direct Current(HVDC) for an offshore wind farm in Low Voltage Ride Through(LVRT) situation. Wind generators in an offshore wind farm are connected to onshore network via HVDC transmission. Due to LVRT control of grid side inverter in HVDC, power imbalancing in DC link is generated and this consequentially causes rising of DC voltage. A de-loading scheme is one of the method to protect the wind power system DC link capacitors from over voltage. But the flaw of this method is slow control response time and that it needs long recovery time to pre-fault condition after fault clear. Thus, this paper proposes improved de-loading method and we analyze control performance for DC voltage in LVRT control of HVDC for an offshore wind farm.

Ductile Fracture Behavior of AS4P Under Mixed Mode (I/II) Loading

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the ductile fracture behavior under mixed mode (I/II) loading using SA533B pressure vessel steel. Anti-symmetric 4-point (AS4P) bending tests were performed to obtain the J-R curves under two different mixed mode (I/II) loadings. In addition, finite element analysis using Rousselier Ductile Damage Theory was carried out to predict the J-R curves under mixed mode (I/II) loadings. In conclusions, the J-R curves under. Mixed Mode (I/II) loading were located between those of Mode I and Mode II loading. When the mixity of mixed mode (I/II) loading was high, the J-R curve of mixed mode (I/II) loading approached that of pure mode I loading after some amount of crack propagation. In contrast with the above fact, if the mixity was low, the J-R curve took after that of pure mode II loading. Finally, it was found that the predicted J-R curves made a good agreement with the test data through the tuning procedures of $\beta$ values at the different mixed mode (I/II) loading.

극저사이클 재하하에서 앵글 강부재의 파괴실험 (Tests on Failure of Steel Angles due to Very Low-Cycle Fatigue of Loading)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 지진에 의한 강구조 부재의 소성피로손상 및 파괴에 크게 영향을 미치는 중요한 인자를 추출하여 그들간의 정량적 관계를 규명하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 앵글 강부재에 대하여 5~30 사이클 정도의 극저사이클 피로파괴실험을 실시하였다. 실험은 축방향 상대변위에 의해 제어된 반복 하중하에서 행하였으며, 앵글 시험체는 재하초기에 비탄성 전체좌굴 또는 국부좌굴이 발생하였다. 실험결과, 극저사이클 피로파괴하에서 강부재의 에너지 흡수능력은 재하이력과 파괴모우드에 따라 크게 변한다는 것을 알 수 있었고, 균열발생부에서 잔류 국소변형률의 최대치는 재하패턴 변형모우드 폭두께비에 관계없이 25~40% 정도였다.

  • This study presents results from an experimental work for two normal prestressed concrete beams and three dual prestressed concrete beams. The dual prestressed concrete beams made with normal concrete in compression zone and high performance steel fiber reinforced concrete in partial depth of tension zone. Through cyclic loading test under low frequency, structural behavior and resistance to dynamic loading for dual prestressed concrete beams are investigated. Considerable increase of crack and yield load capacity of Dual prestressed concrete beam is shown compared with normal prestressed concrete beam. In addition, re-loading and un-loading rigidity of dual prestressed concrete beam under cyclic loading are increased comparing with normal prestressed concrete beam.

Performance analysis of WPM-based transmission with equalization-aware bit loading

  • Wavelet packet modulation (WPM) is a multicarrier modulation (MCM) technique that has emerged as a potential alternative to the widely used orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) method. Because WPM has overlapped symbols, equalization cannot rely on the use of the cyclic prefix (CP), which is used in OFDM. This study applies linear minimum mean-square error (MMSE) equalization in the time domain instead of in the frequency domain to achieve low computational complexity. With a modest equalizer filter length, the imperfection of MMSE equalization results in subcarrier attenuation and noise amplification, which are considered in the development of a bit-loading algorithm. Analytical expressions for the bit error rate (BER) performance are derived and validated using simulation results. A performance evaluation is carried out in different test scenarios as per Recommendation ITU-R M.1225. Numerical results show that WPM with equalization-aware bit loading outperforms OFDM with bit loading. Because previous comparisons between WPM and OFDM did not include bit loading, the results obtained provide additional evidence of the benefits of WPM over OFDM.

In contrast with the above fact, if the mixture ratio was low, the J-R curve looked after that of pure mode II loading. The fractographic evidences such as the shape of dimples under different loading conditions supported these conclusions.

Study on the mechanical properties and rheological model of an anchored rock mass under creep-fatigue loading

  • The stress environment of deep rock masses is complex. Under the action of earthquakes or blasting, the strength and stability of anchored rock masses in fracture zones or faults are affected. To explore the variation in anchored rock masses under creep-fatigue loading, shear creep comparative testing of anchored marble specimens with or without fatigue loading is performed. Considering the damage variable of rock under fatigue loading, a rheological model is established to characterize the whole shear creep process of anchored rock masses under creep-fatigue loading. The results show that (1) the overall deformation of marble under creep-fatigue loading is larger than that under only shear creep loading, and the average deformation is increased by 18.3%. (2) By comparing the creep curves with and without fatigue loading, the two curves basically coincide when the first level stress is applied, and the two curves are stable with the increase in stress level. The results show that the strain difference among the specimens increases gradually in the steady-state stage and reaches the maximum at the fourth level. (3) The shear creep is described by considering the creep mechanical properties of anchored rock masses under fatigue loading. The accuracy of this creep-fatigue model is verified by laboratory tests, and the applicability of the model is illustrated by the fitting parameter R2. The proposed model provides a theoretical basis for the study of anchored rock masses under low-frequency earthquakes or blasting and new methods for the stability and reinforcement of rock masses.

Histomorphometric evaluation of the bone surrounding orthodontic miniscrews according to their adjacent root proximity

  • Objective: This study was conducted to perform histomorphometric evaluations of the bone surrounding orthodontic miniscrews according to their proximity to the adjacent tooth roots in the posterior mandible of beagle dogs. Methods: Four male beagle dogs were used for this study. Six orthodontic miniscrews were placed in the interradicular spaces in the posterior mandible of each dog (n = 24). The implanted miniscrews were classified into no loading, immediate loading, and delayed loading groups according to the loading time. At 6 weeks after screw placement, the animals were sacrificed, and tissue blocks including the miniscrews were harvested for histological examinations. After analysis of the histological sections, the miniscrews were categorized into three additional groups according to the root proximity: high root proximity, low root proximity, and safe distance groups. Differences in the bone-implant contact (BIC, %) among the root proximity groups and loading time groups were determined using statistical analyses. Results: No BIC was observed within the bundle bone invaded by the miniscrew threads. Narrowing of the periodontal ligament space was observed in cases where the miniscrew threads touched the bundle bone. BIC (%) was significantly lower in the high root proximity group than in the low root proximity and safe distance groups. However, BIC (%) showed no significant differences among the loading time groups. Conclusions: Regardless of the loading time, the stability of an orthodontic miniscrew is decreased if it is in contact with the bundle bone as well as the adjacent tooth root.

산성수 침수 및 하중 조건에서의 암석물성변화 연구 (Variation of Rock Properties in Acidic Solution and Loading Condition)

  • 본 연구에서는 산성수 및 하중의 화학 역학적 영향이 암석 물성에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위한 실내 실험을 실시하였다. 실험에서는 암석시료에 pH 및 하중조건을 부여한 후, 유효 공극률을 포함한 다양한 암석 물성 변화를 측정하였다. 실험결과, 일정한 하중조건에서 암석을 침수시킨 산성수의 pH가 낮을수록 물성 변화가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 산성수의 pH가 낮을수록 암석과 산성수 사이의 화학반응 속도가 증가했기 때문으로 예측된다. 또한 일정한 pH의 산성수에 침수된 암석에서 가해진 하중이 증가함에 따라 암석물성 변화가 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 균열개시응력 이하의 하중에서 발생된 압축으로 암석과 산성수 사이의 화학반응 영역이 감소했기 때문으로 여겨진다.

가황조건별 배합고무의 가교밀도와 고무보강성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Crosslinking Density and Reinforcement of Rubber Compounds by Cure System)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 카본블랙 첨가량 변화, 가황조건 및 가황시스템 변화에 따른 배합고무의 가교밀도 및 고무보강성을 조사하고자 하였다. 결합고무량은 배합고무중 카본블랙 체적비가 증가함에 따라 증가하였으나, 총가교밀도는 결합고무량 증가에 따라 감소하였다. 가황반응 속도상수는 가황온도 및 가황시스템에 따라 현저하게 변화하였으며, 특히 가황온도에 강한 의존성을 나타내었다. 가황반응의 활성화에너지는 카본블랙 첨가량이 많고 EC 가황시스템이 적용된 배합고무 또는 카본블랙 첨가량이 적고 CC 가황시스템이 적용된 배합고무에서 높게 나타났다. 가황된 배합고무중 가장 높은 총가교밀도는 카본블랙 첨가량이 적고 가황시스템중 CC 가황시스템이 적용된 배합고무에서 나타났으며, EC 가황시스템에 의한 총가교밀도의 뚜렷한 변화는 나타나지 않았다. Mooney-Rivlin식에 의한 가장 높은 탄성상수는 카본블랙 첨가량이 적고, SEC 가황시스템이 사용된 배합고무에서 나타났다. 모듈러스는 배합고무중 카본블랙 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 증가하였으며, 가황시스템별 영향은 SEC>CC>EC 시스템 순으로 높게 나타났다.
