97.5% of our country's exports and 87.2% of imports are transported by sea, making ports an important component of the Korean economy. To efficiently operate these ports, it is necessary to improve the short-term prediction of port water volume through scientific research methods. Previous research has mainly focused on long-term prediction for large-scale infrastructure investment and has largely concentrated on container port water volume. In this study, short-term predictions for petroleum and liquefied gas cargo water volume were performed for Ulsan Port, one of the representative petroleum ports in Korea, and the prediction performance was confirmed using the deep learning model LSTM (Long Short Term Memory). The results of this study are expected to provide evidence for improving the efficiency of port operations by increasing the accuracy of demand predictions for petroleum and liquefied gas cargo water volume. Additionally, the possibility of using LSTM for predicting not only container port water volume but also petroleum and liquefied gas cargo water volume was confirmed, and it is expected to be applicable to future generalized studies through further research.

Data analysis research using deep learning has recently been studied in various field. In this paper, we conduct a GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System)-based meteorological study applying deep learning by estimating the ZWD (Zenith tropospheric Wet Delay) through MLP (Multi-Layer Perceptron) and LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) models. Deep learning models were trained with meteorological data and ZWD which is estimated using zenith tropospheric total delay and dry delay. We apply meteorological data not used for learning to the learned model to estimate ZWD with centimeter-level RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) in both models. It is necessary to analyze the GNSS data from coastal areas together and increase time resolution in order to estimate ZWD in various situations.

LINS (Laser Inertial Navigation System) consists of RLG (Ring Laser Gyroscopes)/accelerometers and provides real-time navigation information to the target system. Therefore it is very important to make a decision in the real time whether LINS is in the normal operation or not. That is called a fault detection method. In this paper, we propose the fault detection method of LINS based on the overlapping model. We also show that the fault detection probability is increased through overlapping the hardware model and the software model. It is verified through the long-term operation and RAM (Reliability Availability Maintainability) analysis of LINS that the fault detection method proposed in this paper is able to detect about 97% of probable system failures.

In recent navigation system, the profitable solution is to integrate the GPS and Stapdwon INS (SDINS) system and its integration allows compensation for shortcomings of each system. This paper describes the hardware preparation and presents the test results obtained from the automobile test of the developed system. The automobile tests was conducted with two kinds of inertial sensors and GPS receivers : short range and middle range test, to verify and evaluate the performance of the integrated navigation system. The reference of position is given by the Differential GPS(DGPS) which has cm-level accuracy to compare the accuracy of system. Kalman filtering is used for integrating GPS and SDINS and this filter effectively allows the long-term stability of GPS to correct and decrease the time deviation error of SDINS.
In this study, a real-time architecture for the detection of clock jumps in the GPS clock behavior is proposed. GPS satellite atomic clocks have characteristics of a second order polynomial in the long term showing sudden jumps occasionally. As satellite clock anomalies influence on GPS measurements which could deliver wrong position information to users as a result, it is required to develop a real time technique for the detection of the clock anomalies especially on the real-time GPS applications such as aviation. The proposed strategy is based on Teager Energy operator, which can be immediately detect any changes in the satellite clock bias estimated from GPS carrier phase measurements. The verification results under numerous cases in the presence of clock jumps are demonstrated.

The UGV is one of the special field robot developed for mine detection, surveillance and transportation. To achieve successfully the missions of the UGV, the accurate and reliable navigation data should be provided. This paper presents design and implementation of multi-sensor-based open architecture integrated navigation for localization of UGV. The presented architecture hierarchically classifies the integrated system into four layers and data communications between layers are based on the distributed object oriented middleware. The navigation manager determines the navigation mode with the QoS information of each navigation sensor and the integrated filter performs the navigation mode-based data fusion in the filtering process. Also, all navigation variables including the filter parameters and QoS of navigation data can be modified in GUI and consequently, the user can operate the integrated navigation system more usefully. The conventional GPS/INS integrated system does not guarantee the long-term reliability of localization when GPS solution is not available by signal blockage and intentional jamming in outdoor environment. The presented integration algorithm, however, based on the adaptive federated filter structure with FDI algorithm can integrate effectively the output of multi-sensor such as 3D LADAR, vision, odometer, magnetic compass and zero velocity to enhance the accuracy of localization result in the case that GPS is unavailable. The field test was carried out with the UGV and the test results show that the presented integrated navigation system can provide more robust and accurate localization performance than the conventional GPS/INS integrated system in outdoor environments.

Pathfinding for pedestrians provided by various navigation programs is based on a shortest path search algorithm. There is no big difference in their guide results, which makes the path quality more important. Multiple criteria should be included in the search cost to calculate the path quality, which is called a multi-criteria pathfinding. In this paper we propose a user adaptive pathfinding algorithm in which the cost function for a multi-criteria pathfinding is defined as a weighted sum of multiple criteria and the weights are learned automatically by Perceptron learning. Weight learning is implemented in two ways: short-term weight learning that reflects weight changes in real time as the user moves and long-term weight learning that updates the weights by the average value of the entire path after completing the movement. We use the weight update method with momentum for long-term weight learning, so that learning speed is improved and the learned weight can be stabilized. The proposed method is implemented as an app and is applied to various movement situations. The results show that customized pathfinding based on user preference can be obtained.
Enhancing the performance of maritime wireless communication has been highlighted by the issue of cell planning in the sea area because of lack of an appropriate Propagation Loss Model (PLM). To resolve the cell planning issue in vast sea areas, it was essential to develop the (PLM) matching the intended sea area. However, there were considerable gaps between the prediction of legacy PLMs and field measurement in propagation loss and there was a need to develop the adjusted PLM (A-PLM). Therefore, cell planning was performed on this adjusted model, including modification of the base station's location, altitude, and antenna azimuth to meet the quality objectives. Furthermore, in order to verify the availability of the cell planning, Communication Service Quality Monitoring System (CS-QMS) was developed in the LTE-Maritime project to collect LTE signal quality information from the onboard equipment at regular intervals and to ensure that the service quality was high enough to satisfy the goals in each designated grid. As a result of verification, the success rate of RSRP was 95.7% for the intensive management zone (IMZ) and 96.4% for the interested zone (IZ), respectively.
An indoor navigation system that utilizes long-term evolution (LTE) signals has the benefit of no additional infrastructure installation expenses and low base station database management costs. Among the LTE signal measurements, received signal strength (RSS) is particularly appealing because it can be easily obtained with mobile devices. Propagation channel models can be used to estimate the position of mobile devices with RSS. However, conventional channel models have a shortcoming in that they do not discriminate between line-of-sight (LOS) and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) conditions of the received signal. Accordingly, a previous study has suggested separated LOS and NLOS channel models. However, a method for determining LOS and NLOS conditions was not devised. In this study, a machine learning-based LOS/NLOS classification method using RSS measurements is developed. We suggest several machine-learning features and evaluate various machine-learning algorithms. As an indoor experimental result, up to 87.5% classification accuracy was achieved with an ensemble algorithm. Furthermore, the range estimation accuracy with an average error of 13.54 m was demonstrated, which is a 25.3% improvement over the conventional channel model.
