  • Wireless sensor network plays a prominent role in tracking the location of the target outdoor and indoor. This paper describes the implementation of the passive indoor location tracking system using ultrasonic and RF technologies that provides accurate location in the form of user space and position in three dimensions. Our system used a combination of RF and ultrasonic technologies to provide a location-support service to users and applicants. Ceiling-mounted beacons were spread through the building, publishing location information on an RF signal. The person carried a listener and the listener determined the location by calculating the distance from three beacons using triangulation algorithm.

  • When a patient did emergency call, only the name of the patient and a hospital room are shown to nurse's terminal. So, it's so difficult that a nurse looks for the location of the patient. Therefore we have much time about search patient when a patient does emergency call at the other places of their hospital room. This paper proposed optimal repeater's location using SOFM and patient's location estimation using repeater's location information and RSSI database. We performed simulations on searching patient's location using location estimation algorithm.

  • The lenticular Location Based System is related to a location information technology. The system enables users to inform their location in real time wherever in a room, a building, a ship, a basement. In this paper, we analyze limitations and problems of the existing indoor Positioning System and propose a method of user-oriented location service. The proposed method consists of a lenticular sticker, a database(DB) acquisition and analysis technology. The proposed system can be used as an infrastructure to implement various indoor location-based services. In addition to improve user centered positioning accuracy through the development of location-based systems using indoor lenticular systems, it can be used in a disaster situation.

  • This study aims to examine how experiential marketing and location influence customer loyalty mediated by customer satisfaction. This study's population was Cafe Excelso Rinjani customers in Semarang, Indonesia. The sampling employed a purposive sampling technique, with the following criteria: customers who visited and enjoyed Cafe Excelso Rinjani and aged more than 17 years. Data analysis used multiple regression analysis, and a single test was utilized to test for mediation. The results revealed that experiential marketing positively and significantly affected customers satisfaction. It showed that the better the experiential marketing was done, the more customer satisfaction would be. Location positively and significantly influenced customer satisfaction. It indicated that the more strategic the location, the more customer satisfaction increased. Meanwhile, experiential marketing had no impact on customer loyalty. Location positively and significantly affected customer loyalty at Cafe Excelso Rinjani Semarang. It denoted that the more strategic the location, the more customer loyalty increased. Besides, customer satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty. It signified that, when customer satisfaction increased, customer loyalty would increase. Finally, customer satisfaction perfectly mediated the influence of experiential marketing on customer loyalty, and customer satisfaction mediated the effect of location on customer loyalty.

  • In this paper, the optimum location of the belt truss-outrigger for a combined system of framed tube, shear core and outrigger-belt truss is calculated. The optimum location is determined by maximization of the first natural frequency. The framed tube is modeled using a non-prismatic cantilever beam with hollow box cross section. The governing differential equation is solved using the weak form integral equations and the natural frequencies of the structure are calculated. The graphs are introduced for quick calculation of the first natural frequency. The location of the belt truss-outrigger that maximizes the first natural frequency of the structure is introduced as an optimum location. The structure is modeled using SAP-2000 finite elements software. In the modelling, the location of the belt truss-outrigger is changed along the height of the structure. With various locations of the outrigger, the lateral deflection of the all stories and axial force in the columns of the outer tube are calculated. The analysis is repeated by locating the outrigger-belt truss at the optimum location. The analysis results are compared and effect of the optimum location on the lateral deflection and the shear lag phenomena are investigated.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of sign language video location in e-learning system for the hearing-impaired. Background: E-learning education is a good way to resolve the inequality of education for the disabled. Providing a sign language video in e-learning education for the hearing-impaired is very important for their learning. Although the location of sign language video is an important factor in the design of the video, the effect of its location in learning using the e-learning system was not studied. Method: In order to identify the effect of sign language video location on the learning of the hearing-impaired using the e-learning system, the prototypes of the system with different locations were developed. Eighteen people with hearing impairment participated in this experiment. Learning presence, learning immersion, and learning satisfaction were used to measure learning effects with sign language video location. Results: Bottom right position was more preferred through preference evaluation for sign language video location. The learning effect with sign language video location (bottom-left and bottom-right) was not significant. That is, the effects of learning presence, immersion, and satisfaction were not statistically significant with video location. Conclusion: From this study, the following have to be considered in e-learning system design for the hearing-impaired. Although the location of a sign language video is not a significant factor from the experiment, the bottom right position in the design is proposed because learning presence and satisfaction is slightly higher at the bottom right position, and the position is preferred from subjective evaluation. From the analysis of interview data, it was also proposed that the design of a sign language video should be improved for the hearing-impaired. Application: The result of this study can be applied to the e-learning system design for the hearing-impaired.

  • Moving object management systems manage spatiotemporal data, which change their location over tine such as people, animals, and cars. These moving object management systems can be applied to vehicle location tracking, digital battlefield, location-based service, and so on. The existing moving object management systems only manage past or future location of the moving objects separately. Therefore, they cannot suggest estimation method of uncertain past or future location of the moving objects. In this paper, we propose a moving object management system, which not only manages historical data of the moving objects, but also predicts past and future location of the moving objects using historical data stored in database. We define the moving objects for vehicle location tracking and propose a moving object database structure. Finally, we suggest an execution model of the proposed system and apply the execution model to a virtual scenario for vehicle tracking.

  • The researches protecting user's location in location-based services(LBS) have received much attention. Especially k-anonymity is the most popular privacy preservation method. k-anonymization means that it selects k-1 other dummies or clients to make the cloaking region. This reduced the probability of the query issuer's location being exposed to untrusted parties to 1/k. But query's location may expose to adversary when k-1 dummies are concentrated in query's location or there is dummy in where query can not exist. Therefore, we proposed the dummy system model and algorithm taking the real environment into account to protect user's location privacy. And we proved the efficiency of our method in terms of experiment result.

  • Recently, Location Based Service including tracking and way-finding services has been activated rapidly in the ubiquitous computing environment. According as the ubiquitous computing environment is developed, various types of sensor to acquire various data including location of the moving object are used widely, and acquired sensor data becomes abundant. However, the existing location management system based on a single location sensor is difficult to support LBS efficiently in the ubiquitous computing environment. In this paper, therefore, we propose the location management system in the ubiquitous computing environment that can manage the location data and the various sensor data efficiently. In addition, the location management system adopts the core technology for efficiently storing and transferring a large-volume of various data such as location data and for efficiently processing the various requests from a variety of servers and sensors. Especially, our architecture that is presented in this paper can support context-aware services and autonomous services efficiently in the ubiquitous computing environment.
