  • Astronomy is one of the interesting but difficult topics in science for elementary education. Therefore, it is interesting to create astronomy activities that children can understand clearly. The researchers developed activities by using astronomy and botany to improve writing skills. They have to glue the local flowers on the star pictures then write the name of those flowers, the name of the constellation and write an essay describing their work. The participants are into two groups. 71 $3^{rd}$ year undergraduate students who registered for teaching and are learning science as an elementary education subjec, and 10 $1^{st}$ grade student from the laboratory school of Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat university. We can conclude that both groups were more interested in astronomy, they can tell the name of local flowers and not only used their imagination to create their work, but also to write great essays.

  • A point of interest is a specific point location such as a cafe, a gallery, a shop, or a park. It consists of a name, a category, a location, and so on. Its information is necessary for location-based application, above all category is basic information. However, category information should be automatically gathered because it costs high to gather it manually. In this paper, we propose a novel method to estimate category of POIs automatically using an inner word and local context. An inner word is a word that contains POI's name. Their name sometimes expose category information. Thus, their name is used as inner word information in estimating category of POIs. Local context information means words around a POI's name in a document that mentioned the name. The context include information to estimate category. The evaluation of the proposed method is performed on two data sets. According to the experimental results, proposed model using combination inner word and local context show higher accuracy than that of model using each.

  • This study was undertaken to resolve several systematic issues concerning the distribution, nomenclature, and local name of Wasabia koreana. A careful reexamination of the type specimen of W. koreana in TI as well as critical morphological comparison with the related taxa, Cardamine yezoensis and W. japonica, revealed that the W. japonica specimens from Ulleung Island had long been misidentified as W. koreana, resulting in the usage of the same local name for the two distinct taxa. An detailed review for the Cardamine pseudowasabi, a recently proposed name for the misplaced W. koreana, is provided.

  • Pyunjak is presumed to be Jinwallin who was active in early Chunchu period among five identically called doctors from early Chunchu period to Warring period. The name, Pyunjak, seems to be used as "special local doctor who goes around the country". This reflects the social atmosphere of the time that medical science and art were getting developed from royal household and government centered medicine to civilian-centered medicine.

  • Grid technologies make it possible for IT resources to be shared across organizational and security domains. The traditional identity-based access control mechanisms are unscalable and difficult to manage. Thus, we propose the FAS (Federation Agent Server) model which is composed of three modules: Certificate Conversion Module (CCM), Role Decision Module (RDM), and Authorization Decision Module (ADM). The proposed FAS model is an extended Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model which provides resource access capabilities based on roles assigned to the users. FAS can solve the problem of assigning multiple identities to a shared local name in grid-map file and mapping the remote entity's identity to a local name manually.

  • Platanthera brevicalcarata Hayata (Orchidaceae), previously known to be distributed from Taiwan to southern Japan, was found in the Jeju-do, Korea. This species is distinguished from the related taxon Platanthera chlorantha by its small plant size, white sepal with distinct one green vein, and short-cylindrical spur. The local name Young-ju-je-bi-ran is originated from the local name of Mt. Halla. The morphological characters and illustration of the species are provided with line drawing and photograph from the natural habitat.

  • Many problems in naming natural monuments have been repeatedly argued by many researchers, and four different types of naming problems were identified: 1) name of unknown nationality (natural monument no. 82 and 108), 2) morphological name rather than scientific name (natural monument no. 180, 295, and 409), 3) name of fable character (local cultural property of Changnyeonggun), and 4) scientifically wrong name (natural monument no. 413). Among them, two cases (case 3 and 4) using wrong names are found in natural monument of geologic heritages, which should be ascribable to a hasty designation without an accurate and thorough scientific research. In order to solve these problems and to establish an ideal policy in designating natural monument, National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage has been carrying out a research project of "Pre-study and Post-designation (PSPD)", especially targeting the rod-shaped stromatolite. It is likely that this new strategy of PSPD is a unique and the first step to solve many problems in designating and naming geologic heritages as natural monuments. As a consequence, we strongly suggest that PSPD system must be applied to natural monument designation as an institutional arrangement.
