삼척 산양리 농산촌 체험마을 조성을 위한 기본계획 (The General Plan for the Creation of a Rural and Mountainous Experience Village at Sanyangri Samcheok)

  • The present conditions of Sanyangri village at Samcheok are stagnated and spiritless because there is only old men without young men. The purpose of this study is to make the basic plans of this rural and mountainous village to learn by personal experience. Therefore this study has been focused on its programs, land uses, roads and facilities how to activate it. The plan orientation of it is to make and become active by tourists to visit this village to experience the rural and mountainous living culture. So the general plan is divided into two zone which are the rural experience zone and the mountainous experience zone. Also the plan is to be considered to increase its amenities through the connection of surrounding villages and their resources. And it is necessary for the conversion as a tour place of sojourn and experience by supplying with various shows through connections with surrounding tour resources worthy of providing the various excitement through the visiting.

  • In this paper, adaptive home power peak-cut control system is developed using PLC. The developed scheme provides monitoring of power usage, power peak-cut control and additional function. In test bed, zone is presented by bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. And individual load is presented by lighting, heater and fan in zone. In developed scheme, zone control is implemented by single PLC modem. And individual load control is implemented by key-map table. In addition, power peak-cut control system S/W, which can perform setting of power peak, power peak-cut control and monitoring of power usage.

  • In the detection of pathogenic microorganisms ATP-bioluminescence reaction is a fascinating method. ATP(adenosine triphosphate) is an energy source of all kinds of living organism and ATP-bioluminescence reaction uses this ATP. However, ATP exists not only in the cells but also outside the cells. Therefore ATP-bioluminescence reaction only with intracellular ATP is very important in pathogenic microorganism detection. Because of that reason we developed a microfluidic channel containing Dielectrophoretic zone which capture microorganisms and eliminating and washing extracellular ATP with ATP-degarading enzymes, adenosine phosphate deaminase and apyrase. Microorganisms are captured by pDEP force at the DEP electrode zone and only extracellular ATPs are washed and eliminated outside the zone.

Admirandus multicavus Belogurov and Belogurova, 1979 (Nematoda, Enoplida, Oncholaimidae), a new record of free-living marine nematode discovered from the intertidal zone of Korea

  • Admirandus multicavus Belogurov and Belogurova, 1979, a new record of free-living marine nematode species belonging to family Oncholaimidae is reported based on the specimens collected from the intertidal sediments of Korea. Admirandus multicavus is characterized by the following unique characteristics: cephalic setae (1-2 ㎛ long), spicules (71-126 ㎛ long) and gubernaculum (15-31 ㎛ long), midventral preanal supplementary organ, three glandular duct openings of the Demanian system, and stoma length measuring twice the width. A comparative analysis of the biogeographical and ecological characteristics of Admirandus species is presented. DIC (Differential interference contrast) photomicrographs of the species are also provided herein. This report represents the first taxonomic analysis of the genus Admirandus Belogurov and Belogurova, 1979 discovered from the Korean seawaters.

서해 장봉도 인근 사질 퇴적물에서 서식하는 중형저서동물 군집 특성 (Characteristics of Meiobenthic Community Inhabiting Sandy Sediment in the Yellow Sea, Korea)

  • The community structure of meiobenthos was studied at 16 stations within sandy tidal and subtidal zones in Jangbongdo in the Yellow Sea, Korea from Aug. 2006 to Jan. 2007. Meiobenthic organisms were collected by three core samples, with a 3.6 cm diameter, from each sediment sample taken with a Smith-McIntyre Grab. Mean grain size of study stations ranged from $1.49{\phi}$ to $3.55{\phi}$. Composition of sand ranged from 80.38% to 99.89%. There was reduction in total abundance and biomass of meiobenthos from summer to winter. Total densities of meiofauna ranged between 17 inds./10 $cm^2$ and 853 inds./10 $cm^2$. Nematodes, gastrotricha, nauplius and harpacticoids appeared as major taxa in decreasing order. This study shows that major taxa comprised 90 percent of total abundance. Most meiofaunal organisms are concentrated in the upper sediment layers and the total abundance and biomass of organisms in the tidal zone is higher than the subtidal zone.

지유 에탄올 추출물의 식품부패균에 대한 항균효과 (Antimicrobial Effects Against Food-borne Pathogens of Sanguisorbae Officinalis L. Ethanol Extract)

  • This study was performed to investigate the antimicrobial effect against food-borne pathogens of Sanguisorbae officinalis L. ethanol extract. The antimicrobial activity of the ethanol extract was determined using a paper disc-diffusion method and the diameter of the clear zone was measured. The diameters of the clear zone in the presence of 10 mg of the ethanol extract were the maximum against Staphylococcus aureus among the tested 4 gram-positive bacteria and Pseudomonas aeruginosa among the tested 7 gram-negative bacteria. Analysis of the minimum inhibition concentrations (MIC) showed that the ethanol extract exhibited a similar efficacy as sorbic acid, well-known chemical preservatives. The growth inhibitory effects of the ethanol extract in the concentrations of 250, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 mg/L on food-borne pathogens were determined against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Salmonella Typhimurium and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The growth of the microorganisms was significantly (p<0.05) inhibited by the ethanol extract in the concentrations higher than 250 mg/L. Thus, the results of the present study demonstrate that the ethanol extract exhibits antimicrobial effects against food-borne pathogens, suggesting that Sanguisorbae officinalis L. could be used as natural antibacterial agent in food.

대구시 중심시가지 점이지대의 주거지 특성 (Characteristics of Residential Areas in the Transition Zone of Central Daegu)

  • 본 연구는 대구시 중심시가지의 점이지대 주거지역을 대상으로 주거실태와 주민의 주거의식을 분석한 것이다. 거주민에 대한 설문조사를 통하여 도출한 대구시 점이지대의 주거지 특성은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 점이지대는 저소득의 60대 이상 노령층의 비율이 매우 높았다. 이들은 직업이 없는 사람과 이 지역에 오랫동안 거주한 자가소유자가 많았다. 둘째, 점이지대의 주택은 노후화가 심하고, 기반시설은 불량한 상태이다. 그러나 주택 내부시설은 비교적 보수와 정비가 잘되어 있다. 셋째, 공해와 주택시세를 제외하면 주거만족도는 대체로 높은 값을 보이고 있는데 이는 점이지대가 도심시설 이용 및 출퇴근이 편리하기 때문인 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 만족도를 중심으로 거주민 집단을 분류해 보면, 오래전부터 주택의 자가 소유를 통한 안정적인 거주성을 유지하고 있는 노령층(만족도가 높은 집단)과 일시적인 필요와 값싼 임대료의 이유로 거주하는 젊은층(만족도가 낮은 집단)의 두 집단이 점이지대에 공존하고 있었다. 결과적으로, 대구의 점이지대 주거지는 서구의 슬럼과 같은 문제지역이 아니라 거주민의 안정적인 정착지로서 기능을 담당하고 있었다.

The Incidence of Malignant Tumors in Environmentally Disadvantaged Regions of Kazakhstan

  • Objective: To explore the prevalence of malignant tumors in the adult population through 2003-2014 in parts of the Aral Sea region: a zone of ecological disaster, a zone of ecological crisis and a zone of precritical conditions. Methods: The long-time average annual levels of cancer morbidity stratified by zones of the Aral Sea region and trends of long-time average annual incidence indicators of malignant tumors were identified. Leading cancer localizations in the adult population was established and associations between cancer incidence and environmental pollution were analyzed. In addition, associations between individual risk factors and cancer incidence in the adult population was established. Correlations between a hazard index and the cancer incidence in the adult population were calculated. Results: In all three Aral Sea regions, as well as in Zhanaarkinskii district, leading cancer in adult population was esophageal, stomach, tracheal, lung, hepatobiliary, and breast. Long-time average annual levels of cancer morbidity in adult population living in the Aral sea region is 1.5 times higher comparing to the control region. In particular, long-time average annual levels of cancer morbidity in adult population living in the zone of ecological disaster was 57.2% higher, in the zone of ecological crisis - 61.9% higher, and in the zone of precritical condition - 16.8% higher. Long-time average annual levels in the adult population of the Aral Sea region significantly exceeded control levels for brain and central nervous system cancer, cancer of bone and articular cartilage, and thyroid cancer. Conclusion: It has was established that the total cancer morbidity depended on the total hazard index associated with the inhalation of nickel and the combined cadmium intake (r=0.8).
