We experienced a case of Sturge-Weber Syndrome in a 32 years old female. The diagnosis was established by clinical features of Sturge-Weber Syndrome including unilateral facial portwine nevus, vascular hyperplasia of oral mucosa(espectially 1st & 2nd division of trigeminal nerve). But, plain radiographys of the skull revealed no evidence of calcification. A brief review of related literatures was made. Common Clinical findings in Sturge-Weber Syndrome and specific signs & symptoms manifested by this patient were discussed.

Benign monomelic amyotrophy(BMA) is an uncommon cause of progressive mildly disabling atrophy and weakness of a limb. It predominantly affects the distal upper limb of young men. I present two men with BMA of the lower extremities. Although the disorder seemed clinically confined to a arm or leg, I confirmed by electromyography evidence of denervation in the other extremities. I reviewed the literatures and discuss the differential diagnosis. BMA is a diagnosis of exclusion that requires consideration in men with unilateral arm or leg atrophy and weakness.

Six sigma is much less of a technical program than it is a leadership and cultural change program. Nevertheless, most of literatures on six sigma have mainly focused on technical and tactical aspects. This paper introduces a self-assessment for six sigma initiative in a major Korean software company. The self-assessment gives a valuable clue to how to manage leadership and cultural aspects of six sigma initiative.

The author reviewed 10 patients of chest wall tumors which were operated during 7 years, from 1970 to 1976, in Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in Chonnam University Hospital. Benign tumors were 6 patients, malignant tumors were 2 patients and metastatic tumors were 2 patients. Benign tumors were more than malignant tumors, but total cases were small, so, statistical analysis was not enough. Specific symptoms of chest wall tumor were swelling due to mass and pain. All cases had swelling due to mass and 4 cases [40%] had pain. Dyspnea was noted in metastatic tumors. The review of the literatures was also done.

Eosinophilic granuloma is one of the histiocytosis X. It may occur in any bone and tissues, but the one originated from the sternum was rarely reported. Recently, we experienced an eosinophilic granuloma at the manubrium sterni, associated with diabetes insipidus, which was surgically resected. Although intranasal spray of DDAVP has been used for the control of diabetes insipidus, the bony lesion was remitted. With the brief review of the literatures, we report the case.

Angiofollicular lymph node hyperplasia is a relatively rare benign lesion. It develops most often in the mediastinum, but also it found in other area of the body, usually where lymph nodes are normally found. There are histologically divided hyaline vascular type, plasma cell type and transitional type. The lesions were discovered most often on routine roentgenograms, and complete surgical excision is the treatment of choice. Recently, the authors experienced a case of angiofollicular lymph node hyperplasia, transitional type, located in the right hilar area. The lesion was removed and the patient is in good condition postoperatively. Now we report this case with review of previously reported literatures.

Spontaneous pneumothorax is a rare manifestation of primary lung cancer and it is even more rare as an initial manifestation. Recently we have experienced three cases of lung cancer presenting initially as spontaneous pneumothorax. These three cases involved 2 men and one woman with an average age of 70 years [66 - 74years]. Lung cancer was discovered by explothoracotomy in two cases and by endoscopic biopsy in one case. In pathologic cell types, the one was alveolar cell carcinoma and the others were squamous cell carcinoma. We report these three cases of primary lung cancer presenting initially as spontaneous pneumothorax with review of the literatures.

A case of pulmonary aspergillosis, strongly suspected before operation and confirmed after surgical intervention, was reviewed with related literatures. It has become to be a well recognized fact that pulmonary mycosis generally results from sapro-phytic colonization of previous lung cavities usually due to pulmonary tbc, lung abscess, cyst of bronchiectasis. Recently, the author experienced one case of pulmonary aspergillosis which had been diagnosed and treated as tuberculosis for 6 years. Sputum culture, immunologic study and X-ray findings constitute essential part of diagnosis. Surgical resection is the treatment of choice combined with systemic administration of anti-fungal agents to eradicate the disease completely.
