  • Aneurysmal bone cysts of rib continue to interest the clinicians because of their rarity. We experienced a case of aneurysmal bone cyst of Rt 10th rib, which was occupying the Rt pleural cavity as a huge mass. This case was treated surgically with good result. In addition, general concept of aneurysmal bone cyst with brief review of literatures was disclosed here.

  • The concept of discrete curvature is a discretization of the curvature. Many literatures introduce discrete curvatures derived from arc length of circular arcs. We propose a new concept of discrete curvature of a polygon at each vertex, which is derived from area of fan shapes. We estimate the error of the discrete curvature and compare the discrete curvature with old one.

  • It is confusing in Korean Society of Engineering Economy that terminologies of interest formula in Korean were defined differently literature by literature. In this paper, we proposed a rationale for standardization of interest formula by analyzing and comparing them from American, Japan, and Korean literatures. Twenty formulas of interest were interpreted into Korean language so that ones can identify by knowing their title.

  • Marine organisms have proven to be rich sources of interesting organic molecules. A great number of compounds with diverse structural features and interesting biological activities have been isolated. Recent studies on secondary metabolites of marine organisms are discussed with a focus on a variety of biological activities and marine natural product literatures are also reviewed.

  • The pulmonary carcinosarcoma is a rare malignant tumor, which composed of an admixture of histologically malignant epithelial and mesenchymal tissues. Carcinosarcomas comprise 0.2% of all pulmonary neoplasms and are most often found in a proximal bronchus. We report two cases of the pulmonary carcinosarcoma with a rewiew of the literatures.

  • We experienced a case of acquired benign bronchoesophageal fistula associated esophageal diverticulum which was treated successfully by division of ~stulous tract and esophageal diverticulectomy.Benign bronchoesophageal fistulas associated with esophageal diverticulum are very rare. This presentation is characterized by paroxysmal cough especially after drinking liquids and is easily diagnosed by esophagogram. We report a case with review of literatures.

  • Traumatic aorta-right ventricular shunt is an uncommon but important phenomenon due to development of irreversible cardiac dysfunction. Aorto-right ventricular shunt and aortic valvular laceration following stab wound of the chest was successfully surgically repaired in a twenty-year-old male patient. With the brief review of literatures, we describe the case.

  • In pulmonary arteriovenous fistula, there are abnormal communications between the pulmonary arteries and the pulmonary veins; the capillary networks that normally separate arteries from veins is absent. The only available treatment of this uncommon variety is an excision. We report a case of pulmonary arteriovenous fistula cured by segmentectomy with a review of literatures.

  • Bronchogenic cyst is a congenital cystic lesion which is usually found within the lung parenchyme or mediasitnum. Since the surgical removal of asymptomatic lesions was adopted as the reasonable therapeutic principle and increased use of roentgenograms of the thorax, many more cases of bronchogenic cysts are being observed. Seven cases of bronchogenic cysts were presented and related literatures were reviewed.
