액상 LPG 분사 엔진의 인젝터 제어 로직 (Injector Control Logic for a Liquid Phase LPG Injection Engine)

  • The liquid phase LPG injection engine is a new technology to make good use of LPG as a clean energy. However, it is difficult to precisely control air/fuel ratio in the system because of variation of fuel composition, change of temperature and flash boiling injection mechanism. This study newly suggests an injector control logic for liquid phase LPG injection systems. This logic compensates a number of effects such as variations of density, stoichiometric air/fuel ratio, injection delay time, injection pressure, release pressure which is formed by flash boiling of fuel at nozzle exit. This logic can precisely control air/fuel ratio with only two parameters of intake air flow rate and injection pressure without considering fuel composition, fuel temperature.

기관(氣管) 상피세포 생리 및 약리 실험모델로서의 공기-액체 접면 일차배양법 연구 (Studies on the Air-Liquid Interface Culture as an Experimental Model for Physiology and Pharmacology of Tracheal Epithelial Cells)

  • In this study, we intended to get a preliminary data for establishing rat tracheal surface epithelial(RTSE) cell culture system as an experimental model for physiology and pharmacology of tracheal epithelial cells. Primary culture on the membrane support and application of the air-liquid interface system at the level of cell layer were performed. The cell growth rate and mucin production rate were measured according to the days in culture. The results were as follows: this culture system was found to manifest mucocilliary differentiation of rat tracheal epithelial cells, the cells were confluent and the quantity of produced and released mucin was highest on culture day 9, the mucin was mainly released to the apical side and tbe free $^3{H}$-glucosamine which was not incorporated to process of synthesis of mucin was left on the basolateral side. Taken together, we suggest that air-liquid interface culture system can be used as a substitute for immersion culture system and as an experimental model for in vivo mucus-hypersecretory diseases.

이류체 분사노즐의 분무예측 모델 (Spray modelization of air-assisted coaxial atomizer)

  • Experimental and theoretical studies on the air-assist coaxial atomizer have been continuously carried out for a long time. But now the importance of the theoretical study is tending to increase as with the development of computer. This study is concerned to the spray modelization, especially, the instability of the liquid jet surrounded by the air stream which flows with high velocity. To study the phenomena of the break up, we used the linear theory based on the classical Kelvin-Helmholtz theory for capillary wave at a simple interface and we investigated the variation of liquid core radius. As a result, we obtained that the drop diameter and the variation of the liquid core radius predicted by using our model are reasonable.

방사성(放射性) 폐액(廢液)의 자연증발(自然蒸發)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Evaporation of Radioactive Liquid Waste)

  • The performance of the evaporation facility of low radioactive liquid waste is studied experimentally. The evaporation facility comprises storage pools, feeding pumps, evaporation units with 1,040 sheets of cloth and air handling units. As the results of this study, it is found that the evaporation rate increases as the waste feed rate increases, the relative humidity of induced air decreases, and the air velocity increases. The modified Dalton's evaporation equation derived from experimental data is $E_h=(0.0168+0.0141V){\Delta}H$. The optimum operating conditions of the evaporation facility are waste feed rate of $4.5./hr.m^2$ and air velocity of 1.47m/sec.

반부숙상태 돈분뇨 액비의 저장기간 및 폭기여부에 따른 특성 변화 (Changes in Characteristics of Semi-cured Pig Manure Liquid Fertilizer according to the Storage Duration and Aeration)

  • 현재 국내 양돈농가에서 발생하는 돼지분뇨 성상은 수분함량이 97% 정도인 슬러리 형태가 대부분이다. 돈사에서 배출되는 돼지분뇨 슬러리는 돼지의 분뇨와 돈사 내부 청소 물 등이 혼합된 성상의 액상물질이다. 본 연구에서는 공기공급 여부와 저장기간의 경과에 따른 돼지분뇨 액비의 부숙정도와 성상변화를 분석하기 위하여, 국내에서 운용 중인 액비화시설의 후단 공정에서 채취한 돼지분뇨 슬러리를 재료로 하여 120일 동안 실험을 수행하였다. 밀폐형 회분식 반응조를 이용하여 실험을 수행한 결과, 돼지분뇨 슬러리 액비의 부숙도는 공기공급구가 비공급구에 비해 더 양호하였으며 액비 저장기간이 경과 함에 따라서 액비가 부숙완료 상태로 빨리 전환되는 경향이 있었다. 실험개시 시에 97.90% 수준이던 액비의 수분함량 평균값이 실험 완료 시에는 공기공급구의 경우 96.82%, 비 공급구는 97.33% 수준을 나타냄으로써 공기공급구에서의 수분함량 감소가 상대적으로 더 높았다. 실험개시시에 8.82 수준이었던 액비의 pH는 실험완료 시에 공기공급구에서는 7.57, 비 공급구에서는 8.75 수준으로 변화하였다. 액비 중의 질소함량은 실험개시 시에 평균 0.198 mg/L 수준이었으나 실험완료 시에는 공기공급구에서는 0.076 mg/L, 비 공급구에서는 0.121 mg/L 수준으로 낮아졌다. 액비 중의 인산(P2O5)농도는 저장기간의 경과에 따라 비폭기처리구가 폭기처리구에 비해 감소 정도가 상대적으로 더 높았다. 실험결과를 종합해볼 때 돼지분뇨 액비에 공기를 공급하는 경우 그리고 저장기간을 길게 하였을 때 액비품질이 개선되는 것으로 판단된다.

  • 공기양정(air-lift) 펌프는 양수 조작이 어려운 곳이나 물밑의 탐사, 특히 수중의 부서지기 쉬운 침전물을 손상시키지 않고 제거하거나 회전 임펠러를 손상시킬 수 있는 혼합물의 이송에 이용하는 특수한 양수펌프이다. 이 연구에서는 공기양정펌프의 주요부 분인 라이저 즉, 수직상승관에 대한 기액유동 이론 및 기존의 연구 결과에 따른 실험식을 이용한 성능예측 프로그램에 의해 양수 특성을 운전조건에 따라 고찰하고 기존의 실험결과와 비교하였다. 그 결과 공기양정펌프의 양수성능은 잠수비와 라이저의 단면적에 근사적으로 선형비례하며 최적의 효율이 얻어지는 가스질량유량을 설정할 수 있음을 보였다.

  • As an effective means to convey crushed materials from seabed to onboard ship and to raise hazardous or abrasive liquids, air-lift pump provides a reliable mechanism due to its simple configuration and easy-to-operate principle. The present study is focused on investigation of related performance by the analysis program based on the gas-liquid two-phase flow in circular pipes. The program covers pump operating in isothermal and vertical two-phase flow with Newtonian liquids. It is summarized as important result that an optimum air mass flow rate exists for the maximum lifted liquid mass flow rate in terms of a given submergence rates. The comparison between riser performance of the conveyed liquid flow rate calculated by the computer program and measured data with large scale air lift pump system constructed in 200 meter depth vertical tank reveals similar distribution.

횡단유동으로 분사하는 이유체노즐의 기체-액체비에 따른 분무특성 (Characteristics of Air-assist Spray Injected into Cross-flow with Various Gas-liquid Ratio)

  • 아음속 유동 내에 수직으로 분사된 액체제트의 액적분열 분포 특성을 알아보기 위해 이유체 노즐을 사용하여 실험적으로 연구하였다. 노즐은 L/d=3의 외부혼합형으로 공기와 액체의 비를 0 ${\sim}$ 59.4%까지 변화시키면서 분사하였다. 분무형상의 변화를 이미지화 하였으며 분무의 궤적과 액주의 형상을 관찰하였다. 액체제트 분열의 단면분포 특성을 PDPA를 사용하여 측정하였며 SMD, 액적속도, 그리고 체적유속을 측정하였다. 그 결과 노즐로 공급되는 공기의 양이 많아질수록 Y/d방향의 관통거리는 증가하였고 액적의 미립화는 가속화되는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다.

Empirical Correlations for Penetration Height of Liquid Jet in Uniform Cross Flow - A Review

  • The empirical correlations for the prediction of penetration height of liquid jet in crossflow are reviewed and classified in this study. Around thirty different correlations had been proposed by many investigators. It has generally known that the penetration height of a liquid jet in a cross-flow is a function of the liquid to air momentum flux ratio and the normalized downstream distance from the injector. However, several researchers incorporated the Weber number, liquid-to-water or air viscosity ratio, pressure ratio or Reynolds number, temperature ratio in the empirical correlations. The existing correlations can be grouped as correlations in a power-law, logarithmic, and exponential forms, respectively. Correlations in a power-law form can be further classified as three groups such as basic form, Weber number form and other parameters form. It should be pointed out that correlations in a logarithmic form in terms of Weber number or any other parameters could not be found. Universal correlation has still not been established due to the significant discrepancies between various correlations suggested to date. Several of the studies reported the significant discrepancies of predicted values by the existing correlations. The possible reasons for discrepancies will be summarized as measurement technique, assumptions made in defining terms in the liquid to air momentum flux ratio, difficulties in defining the boundaries of the liquid jets, and nozzle/injector geometry. Evaluation of validity for the correlations proposed recently by several investigators is essentially required. Those include eight power-law forms, two logarithmic forms, and one exponential form.

2유체 분무노즐의 분열특성(I)-액주분열 및 내부유동- (Breakup Characteristics in Plain Jet Air Blast Atomizer(I)-Jet Breakup and Internal Flow-)

  • The breakup length of a liquid jet with flowrate, formed by releasing through a nozzle of circular cross-section into the atmosphere, was experimented and studied for 3 liquid nozzles of varying diameters. The experimental result was analyzed using the existing theoretical equation for predicting the breakup length. It was found that the breakup length of liquid jet depends on the velocity, and the breakup length increases with increasing of the liquid nozzle diameter. Also, the variation range of the breakup length for the same flowrate of liquid increased rapidly as velocity was increased for laminar flow, but in the turbulent flow region, it leveled off in the range of approximately 0.55-0.7 of the mean breakup length. Furthermore, when the longest smooth liquid jet was applied to the co-axial flow air blast atomizer, the effect of air flow on the flow pattern and breakup length was studied for 6 glass nozzles of different lengths and diameters. It was found that depending on the diameter of the mixing tube and liquid jet, it was possible to observe a wide range of flow patterns, such as liquid jet through flow, partial annular flow and annular flow. The liquid jet breakup length was more sensitive to the change in the length rather than the diameter of the mixing tube. As the length of the mixing tube shortens, the breakup length also shortens rapidly.
