This paper was performed to investigate the effect of dietary fiber and Chlorella added diets on serum composition of blood and histopathological change of liver and kidney in male rats. As the result, pectin added diets have an effect of decrease a serum, cholesterol and lipid of the tissue.
The effects of total saponin, triol and diol saponin, and prosapogenin of ginseng on the absorption of cholesterol and the component of serum lipids was observed as a function of time using isotopic method. The following results were obtained. 1) Labelled cholesterol absorption was observed to be enhanced after adminstrations of total saponin, triol saponin, and. prosapogenin of ginseng to rat (Sprague Dawley). 2) Decreases in the amount of serum lipid were observed after administration of total saponin and prosapogenin of ginseng.
As the previous paper of studios on lipids in fresh-water fishes, the present study was designed and analyzed to investigate the distribution of lipid components in various tissues of snake head, Channa argus. The free lipid was consisted of neutral lipid ($66.6{\sim}72.4\%$), phospholipid($17.9{\sim}20.4\%$) and glycolipid ($5.7{\sim}12.2\%$), while the bound lipid was consisted of phospholipid($28.6{\sim}50.6\%$), neutral lipid($13.2{\sim}36.1\%$) and glycolipid($3.8{\sim}22.8\%$). The neutral lipid was mainly consisted of triglyceride($62.00{\sim}90.20\%$) in free lipid, and esterified sterol & hydrocarbon($51.30{\sim}72.70\%$) in bound lipid. The phospholipid was mainly consisted of phosphatidyl ethanolamine($28.96{\sim}42.75\%$) and phosphatidyl choline ($27.85{\sim}41.06\%$) in free lipid, and phosphatidyl choline($47.18{\sim}52.45\%$) and phosphatidyl ethanolamine ($17.88{\sim}26.67\%$) in bound lipid. The major fatty acids of polar lipid in free and bound lipids were $C_{16:0}(21.03\%,\;22.62\%),\;C_{16:1}(8.70\%,\;30.1\%),\;C_{18:1}(20.62\%,\;12.11\%),\;C_{22:5}(3.21\%,\;6.50\%)\;and\;C_{22:6}(7.56\%,\;16.02\%)$, and these of neutral lipid in free and bound lipids were $C_{16:0}(18.98\%,\;19.12\%),\;C_{16:1}(9.04\%,\;13.49\%),\;C_{18:1}(22.94\%,\;11.61\%)\;and\;C_{22:5}(3.00\%,\;10.05\%)$, respectively. The unsaturation(TUFA/TSFA) of bound lipid was 3.99, and 2.5 times higher than 1.43 of free lipid. The contents of total essential fatty acid in free lipid were ranged $7.99\%\;to\;14.69\%$, and slightly higher than $6.57\%\;to\;8.25\%$ of bound lipid. In both polar and nonpolar lipids, w3 highly unsaturated fatty acid(w3-HUFA) contents of bound lipid were ranged $22.57\%\;to\;31.83\%$, and $2{\sim}3$ times higher than $7.88\%\;to\;14.03\%$ of free lipid. There were significant difference between the lipid and its fatty acid composition in free and bound lipids and/or in various tissues.
Free and bound lipids of both inner and outer part in the edible portion of 3 varieties of chestnuts(Castanea crenata) were extracted and fractionated into neutral lipid, glycolipid and phospholipid, by silicic acid column chromatography. Fatty acid composition of each fraction was examined with gas chromatography. Lipid contents in chestnut on dry weight basis were 1.84% in inner part(1.26%-free lipid and 0. 58% bound lipid) and 1.95% in outer part (1.63%-free lipid and 0.32%-bound lipid). Free lipid content was $2{\sim}5$ times higher than bound lipid content and was more abundant in the outer part. Neutral lipid content of the free lipid in the inner part was 39.5%, approximately 10 times as much as that of the bound lipid, but in the outer part, the former was 56.6%. Glycolipid content was 22. 0% in the free lipid and 17.0% in the bound lipid. Phospholipid content was 6.9% in the free lipid and 10.5% in the bound lipid. The predominant fatty acids were linoleic acid, palmitic acid and linolenic acid in the free lipid, and palmitic acid, linoleic arid and linolenic acid in the bound lipid, Therefore, saturated fatty acid content in the bound lipid was 2 times higher than in the free lipid.
The lipid and fatty acid compositions of neutral lipid, glycolipid and phospholipid were identified and quantified by thin-layer chromatography and gas chromatography. Main constituents of the neutral lipid were triglyceride, free sterol and esterified sterol in the free lipid, and free fatty acid and monoglyceride in the bound lipid. In the outer part, there existed 25.7% triglyceride in the free lipid and it was not nearly found in the bound lipid. Main constitutents of the glycolipid were digalactosyl diglyceride and esterified steryl glycoside in the free lipid, and digalactosyl diglyceride in the bound lipid. Free lipid didn't contain trigalactosyl diglyceride but bound lipid contained 2.0% of it. Main constituents of the phospholipid were lysophosphatidyl choline, phosphatidyl inositol, phosphatidyl choline, phosphatidyl glycerol and phosphatidyl ethanolamine in the free lipid, and phosphatidyl choline and phosophatidyl inositol in the bound lipid. The predominant fatty acids of three fractions, neutral lipid, glycolipid and phospholipid showed almost the same pattern as that of the total free and bound lipids. The content of palmitic acid was relatively higher in the polar lipids(glyco and phospholipid). Therefore, saturated fatty acid ratio of polar lipid was higher than that of neutral lipid. found lipid contained more saturated fatty acids as compared with the free lipid.
This study is conducted to evalute the effect of ginseng fraction component (ginseng extract solution, GES; ginseng protein, GP; ginseng saponin, GSA; ginseng residue, GR) upon hyperlipidemia and fatty liver induced by high fat administration. In doing so, the serum, liver and epididymal adpoid tissue have been examined for lipid components level and lipoprotein fraction. Feces bile acid and neutral sterol excretion have been also measured. 1'he results obtained from this study are as follows. 1. Serum, liver, epididymal lipid components of GP and GSA group were significantly lower than the controlgroup. 2. During the feeding experiment, VLDL and LDL increase while HDL decrease in all group. However the degree of VLDL and LDL increase and HDL decrease were signficantly small in GP and GSA group compared with control group. 3. In the excretion of bile acid and neutral sterol, all experiment group showed increased excretion in the comparison of control group.
Changes in chemical components of small black bean chungkugjang(SBBC) added with kiwi and radish as foodstuffs to repress off-odor and enhance the quality of SBBC suring fermentation were investigated. Optimal pretreatment conditions of small black bean suitable to the fermentation of chungkugjang were 3 hrs of soaking time 1.5 times of ratio of water to black bean. 1.0 atm of high pressure, 20 min of heating time, cutting and crushing of heat-treated black bean. Moisture content of SBBC was remarkably lower than that of soybean chungkugjang(SBC) as control. Crude protein of SBBC was in the range 23.37∼25.71% and higher than that of SBC, Crude lipid of SBBC was lower than that of SBC. Crude lipid of SBBC added with kiwi and radish paste was decreased than that of SBBC without two foodstuffs. pH of SBBC were rapidly increased to 24 hrs of fermentation and gradually increased thereafter. Total acidity was shown to be reversely decreased as compared to pH tendency. Reducing sugar was increased to 24 hrs of fermentation and then decreased. In SBBC and SBC, potassium was the most abundant followed by phosphorus, magnesium and calcium.
In the present study, in attempt was made to observe the effect of lipid components in pantocrin and antler velvet and sponge layers extracts on the aldolase activity in the rat spinal nerves. The antler chloroform-methanol (2:1) extracts are known to be composed of neutral lipids, cholesterol, cerebrosides, spingomyelin, phosphatidyl choline, phosphatidyl ethanolamine, phosphatidyl serine and gangliosides. The antler extracts were studied on the aldolase activity in the rat spinal nerves. The aldolase activity was measured by the method of Lehninger. To investigate the components of tile extracts which affect the enzyme activity, the chloroform-methanol (2:1) extracts of antler were fractionated into petroleum ether soluble and insoluble fractions and their effects on the enzyme activity were compared. It was found that the chloroform-methanol (2:1) extracts of the antler sponge and velvet layers as well as those petroleum ether soluble fractions obtained from the chloroform-methanol (2:1) extracts, decrease the aldolase activity by 18-23%. However, pantocrin showed increasing effect on the aldolase activity by 42.6%. The petroleum ether insoluble fraction of the chloroform-methanol (2:1) -extract showed no significant increasing activity (about 13%) on the spinal nerves aldolase. The components of pantocrin ind the petroleum ether insoluble fractions were attempted to analysize by thin layer (silica gel) and gas liquid chromatography.
Total lipid contents of tomato fruits were 97.6mg% and composed of neutral lipid(45.1mg%), phospholipid(31.2mg%) and glycolipid(12.4mg%). The contents of neutral lipid were slowly increased from the period of climacteric rise, but those of glycolipid and phospholipid were slowly decreased at the end of storage period. Major fatty acids in all lipids were identified to be palmitic, stearic, linoleic and oleic acids. The contents of linoleic acid in all lipids at $25^{\circ}C$ and those in neutrallipid at $15^{\circ}C$ were decreased, while those in phospholipid were slightly increased during storage. The contents of palmitic acid in neutral lipid were decreased, whereas those in glycolipid and phospholipid have a tendency to increase during storage. As for normal atmospheric pressure-normal temperature(NAP-N) condition, volatiles from homogenated tomato fruits were positively correlated with palmitic acid of neutral lipid, whereas negatively correlated with linoleic acid. As for subatmospheric pressure-low temperature(SAP-L) condition, the relationship between volatiles and fatty acids of neutral lipid was similar to NAP-N condition. Volatiles were positively correlated with linoleic acid of glycolipid and stearic acid of phosholipid, whereas negatively correlated with oleic acid of glycolipid and palmitic acid of phospholipid, respectively.
