This paper is concerned with a Logic-based Fuzzy Neural Networks (LFNN) with the aid of fuzzy granulation. As the underlying design tool guiding the development of the proposed LFNN, we concentrate on the context-based fuzzy clustering which builds information granules in the form of linguistic contexts as well as OR fuzzy neuron which is logic-driven processing unit realizing the composition operations of T-norm and S-norm. The design process comprises several main phases such as (a) defining context fuzzy sets in the output space, (b) completing context-based fuzzy clustering in each context, (c) aggregating OR fuzzy neuron into linguistic models, and (c) optimizing connections linking information granules and fuzzy neurons in the input and output spaces. The experimental examples are tested through two-dimensional nonlinear function. The obtained results reveal that the proposed model yields better performance in comparison with conventional linguistic model and other approaches.

The modern society has been experiencing a cultural quickening that is accompanied by the rapid social, political and economical changes. In the dim chaos where the future is uncertain, the modern women are gradually discovering the value and meaning of their existences in the society. The fashion and make-up Christian Dior presented in the Haute Couture collections suggest us various genres from which the remarkable creative and artistic accomplishments canbe found. This study is to examine the characteristics of make-up techniques used by Christian Dior for the Haute Couture collections after 2003 S/S. The conclusion of this study is as follows. The make-up trend in the Haute Couture collections suggest that the make-up today is not simply to decorate a face beautifully. The make-up has become a new art form for the modern women to express their various originality and creativity while linking it to the social and cultural elements.

4-Aminobutyrate aminotransferase is a key enzyme of the 4-aminobutyric acid shunt. It converts the neurotransmitter 4-aminobutyric acid to succinic semialdehyde. In order to study the structural and functional aspects of catalytically active Cys residues of pig brain 4-aminobutyrate aminotransferase, we purified the active form in E. coli by coproduction of thioredoxin. The structural arrangement for functional requirements of a dimeric protein using a bifunctional sultbydryl reagent was then characterized, and the spatial proximity between the essential SH groups and a cofactor (pyridoxal-5'-phosphate) binding site was determined. The bifunctional sultbydryl reagent DMDS reacted with the enzyme at the ratio of one molecule per enzyme dimer. This resulted in an approximately 50% loss of enzymatic activity. The spatial proximity of the distance between the essential SH groups and the cofactor-binding site was determined by the energy transfer measurement technique. The result (approximate 20 ${\AA}$) suggested that cross-linking of two sulfhydryl groups with DMDS is not near a PLP binding site.

Design structure of a mobile phone has been changed to a converged style, which has so many functions. However, the converged mobile phone could not satisfy the users who want to use only specific functions, so with Axiomatic Design, we have studied for making a proposal to set up the new concept. The goal of this study is to derive a general solution with Axiomatic Design to verify the Independence. By enhancing the existing design model and differentiating the function of mobile phone, user will be able to choose desirable products, which have only specific functions and/or specific parts. First of all, we checked the Independence about the existing design model. Then, we developed the new design model with the idea that base mobile phone should have basic functions and additional functions can be separated, surely be connected when users want.

Based on experimental and theoretical analyses, we suggested a new possibility that the CVD diamond films grow not by the atomic unit but by the charged clusters containing a few hundreds of carbon atoms, which form spontaneously in the gas phase [J. Crysta] Growth 62 (1996) 55]. These hypothetical negatively-charged clusters were experimentally confirmed under a typical hot-filament diamond CVD process. Thin film growth by charged clusters or gas phase colloids of a few nanometers was also confirmed in Si and ZrO₂ CVD and appears to be general in many other CVD processes. Many puzzling phenomena in the CVD process such as selective deposition and nanowire growth could be explained by the deposition behavior of charged clusters. Charged clusters were shown to generate and contribute at least partially to the film deposition by thermal evaporation. Origin of charging at the relatively low temperature was explained by the surface ionization described by Saha-Langmuir equation. The hot surface with a high work function favors positive charging of clusters while that of a low work function favors negative charging.

To develop an artificial bone substitute that is gradually degraded and replaced by the regenerated natural bone, the authors designed and produced a composite that is consisted of calcium phosphate and collagen. Human umbilical cord origin pepsin treated type I atelocollagen was used as the structural matrix, by which sintered or non-sintered carbonate apatite was encapsulated to form an inorganic-organic composite. With cross linking atelocollagen by UV ray irradiation, the resistance to both compressive and tensile strength was increased. Collagen degradation by the collagenase induced collagenolysis was also decreased.

A diaphorase enzyme electrode for the catalytic reduction of NAD+ , the oxidized form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, has been prepared. The enzyme layer grew spontaneously over an aminoethanethiol self assembled monolayer on a go ld plate electrode. The growth was accomplished by simply dipping the electrode covered by the aminoethanethiol monolayer into a solution containing both glutaraldehyde and diaphorase. We suggested that the glutaraldehyde as a cross-linking reagent was attached to the amino groups of the aminoethanethiol monolayer and the diaphorase enzyme molecules were bound to free aldehyde groups of the glutaraldehyde. Further attachments of the enzyme molecules over the bound enzyme molecules continued with the bridging of the glutaraldehyde. In frequency measurements with a quartz crystal microbalance, the frequency decrease was much more than it was for that of the enzyme monolayer formation, and an enzyme layer thicker than a monolayer was formed. The modified electrode was employed to reduce NAD+ , using diffusional methyl viologen as an electron transfer mediator. The NAD+ was electrocatalytically reduced, and the catalytic current was almost equivalent to that with the multilayered electrode of ten enzyme layers.

Serving a function of transportation information and geographic information together with proper composition of design elements, railway route maps have to be designed to easily recognized to the concerning passengers as they offer users to access to the guide information. This study analyzed visual aspects of the maps of 8 underground routes linking Seoul and urban cities(D1 - D8) and the maps of 8 different cities overseas (A1 - A8). As a source of information with condition of easy recognition, universality and aesthetics, route maps should be designed and consistently managed by the manual which establishes the principle of the logical system and the standardized form.

This study examines the linkage between Korean wave, corporate image and country image, perceived quality of products made in the country. To close a gap lacking empirical studies on impacts of corporate image to country image and to further understand impacts of Korean wave, this study conducts survey over Chinese consumers to test the effects of corporate image, Korean wave to the country image, and verify on its effects to perceived quality of the products made in the country. The results show that both corporate image and Korean wave influences to form positive country image of Korea, and perceived quality of Korean made products. The size of effects varies upon products type and stimuli. This study could provide policy makers insights how to promote country image as well as support SMEs for developing overseas markets. Also, it could give marketers valuable implications to develop effective global marketing strategies using cultural assets, country image and salient corporate image.

Role of architecture should not be limited to function of providing an inhabitable space but also include urban and social role of its impact to the public and surrounding area. Role of landmark building should be further expanded beyond and landmark building speaks out its aesthetics with mass form and/or with its appearance of façade. With study of this project, idea of landmark building is shifted from vertical extrusion of the land to horizontal extrusion of large space from the face of building. It is a double extrusion creating large assembly space up in the air linking surrounding masses.
