Real-time communication in an off-line programming (오프라인 프로그래밍에서의 실시간 통신)

  • An off-line programming, OLP, system is widely used in automation fines. To help an on-line robot system to carry out desirable tasks planned by the off-line simulation, an approach to the real-time communication is presented. The OLP system developed consists of a software, a host computer(PC), a SCARA robot body, four servo drivers, and four independent joint controllers. This study focuses on the software where real-time communication is included. The software, can be used in teaching, trajectory planning, real-time running, and performance evaluation. The evaluation of different control algorithms is one of the merits of the software. The software can give servo commands for task running. A comparison of generated and corresponding actual trajectories provides the evaluation of task performance. The safety, of the OLP system is ensured by alarming malfuntions of the system. The OLP system developed can reduce the teaching time and increase the user's convenience.

  • This paper describes an analytical method for wheel wear prediction. The outputs from vehicle dynamic software are used to calculation the wheel wear. Two calculation examples are shown for a high-speed line and a conventional line. Through the comparison of two cases, we can see the wheel wear characteristics on the conventional line and the high-speed line. The conventional line has many curved tracks that cause severe wheel flange wear. The influences of curve radius on wheel wear are also described considering the operational performance of the high speed trainset. A method of calculation using contact patch work model is presented for determination of the evolution by wear railway wheels.

  • TFT-LCD process has two advantages as compared with the semiconductor-process. It is that cycle time is short and number of the final products are small. But it needs complicated inspection / assembly line to be treated manually and much higher labor costs in the TFT-LCD process. Also, It is necessary to build PICS(Production Information and Control System) which is automated and intelligent. In this paper, an automated process of LCD module assembly line that can increase productivity and reduce the cost of production to strengthen the competitiveness corresponding with global market is planned in comparison with its manual/semi-auto. It is noted that The automated line for COG$\sim$FOG process replacing with the existing facilities had the following effects; the productivity is increased to about 1.5 times and labor cost reduced 85%. In addition, whole assembly line can be short and simple.

Fatigue Properties of Friction Weld According to the Location of Small Artificial Defect (미소인공결함의 위치에 따른 마찰용접부의 피로특성)

  • In this study, the rotary bending fatigue test was carried out with two kinds of base metal, martensite stainless steel STR3 and austenite stainless steel STR35 and the dissimilar friction welded material with them. To compare the fatigue fifes according to the notch positions, the small circular defect was worked on the bonded line, 1.0mm and 0.5mm distance form the bonded line. The fatigue limits of the STR3 and STR35 base metal were 429.0MPa and 409.4MPa respectably. In comparison with fatigue life at the same notch positions, the STR35 specimens showed about 190% for base metal, 82% for 1.0mm distance notched specimens higher than that of the STR3. But the fatigue life of the 0.5mm distance notched STR35 specimen showed about 35% lower than that of the STR3 specimen. And the bonded line notched specimen was much lower fatigue life than the other specimens because of separation of the bonded line.

Estimation of Relative Potency with the Parallel-Line Model

  • Biological methods are described for the assay of certain substances and preparations whose potency cannot be adequately assured by chemical or physical analysis. The principle applied through these assays is of a comparison with a standard preparation to determine how much of the examined substance produces the same biological effects as a given quantity (the Unit) of the standard preparation. In these dilution assays, to estimate the relative potencies of the unknown preparations to the standard preparations, it is necessary to compare dose-response relationships of standard and unknown preparations. The dose-response relationship in the dilution assay is non-linear and sigmoid when a wide range of doses is applied. The parallel line model (applied to the dose region with the steepest slope) is used to estimate the relative potency. In this paper, the statistical theory in the parallel line model is explained with an application to a dilution assay data. The parallel line method is implemented in a SAS program and is available at the author's homepage(http://cafe.daum.net/go.analysis).

  • Line balancing algorithm can be classified by two class, the analytical method and the heuristic method. In this thesis the study was focused on the determinstic line balancing model of the single model production assembly line balancing which is one of the heuristic method. The algorithm of Tonge, Kilbridge & Wester, Helgeson & Birnie which is using the analytical method was examined with one example. And then the algorithms were compared with using line balancing-efficiency, number of work station, standard deviation and range. The result showed that Helgeson & Birnie algorithm is the most convenient in use. A computer program was run in order to use Helgeson & algorithm more conveniently.

  • The line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor has a high efficiency and an advantage in constant speed operation regardless of the effect of load variation. However, it is difficult to predict the performance of characteristics accurately, because of the unbalanced starting torque with the initial starting position of the rotor and the generation of a break torque. In this paper the dynamic characteristics of the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor are described and compared with those of the squirrel-cage induction motor through the simulation to find the characteristics of the permanent magnets and the rotor bars in the line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor. Finally this paper gives the comparison between the simulation results and the experimental results.

Trimming Line Design of Auto-body Panel with Complex Shape Using Finite Element Inverse Method (유한요소 역해석을 이용한 복잡한 자동차 판넬의 트리밍 라인 설계)

  • Trimming line design plays an important role in obtaining accurate edge profile after flanging. Compared to the traditional section-based method, simulation-based method can produce more accurate trimming line by considering deformation mechanics. Recently, the use of a finite element inverse method is proposed to obtain optimal trimming line. By analyzing flanging inversely from the final mesh after flanging, trimming line can be obtained from initial mesh on the drawing die surface. Initial guess generation fer finite element inverse method is obtained by developing the final mesh onto drawing tool mesh. Incremental development method is adopted to handle irregular mesh with various size and undercut. In this study, improved incremental development algorithm to handle complex shape is suggested. When developing the final mesh layer by layer, the algorithm which can define the development sequence and the position of developing nodes is thoroughly described. Flanging of front fender is analyzed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the present method. By using section-based trimming line and simulation-based trimming line, incremental finite element simulations are carried out. In comparison with experiment, it is clearly shown that the present method yields more accurate edge profile than section-based method.

Comparative Analysis of On-Line Game Characters' Costumes and Fashion Trend Color (온라인 게임 캐릭터 복식 색채와 패션 트렌드 색채의 비교 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to come up with ways that cooperate between on-line game design and fashion design by analyzing trend color and on-line game character's costume color in on-line game. As for the research methodology, First, on-line games were selected with reference to www.ranky.com. Second, 2009 SS trend color palettes suggested by Copenhagen International Fashion Fair was used as a criterion of fashion trend. Third, on-line game character's costume colors were analyzed in relation to the degree of reflection of trend and the game character's type. The results are as follows. Each on-line game character costume's colors were made in accordance with typical character types. But we can find a one-to-one correspondence between fashion trend colors and game character costume's colors. That's because both trends and character types are the results of the continuing interactions between human-beings and societies. In comparison with fashion trend colors, game character costume colors are partly raw and inharmonious. Therefore, it is necessary to apply fashion trend color in game character costume design for enhancing competitiveness in the world market.

On-Line Aircraft Parameter Identification Using Fourier Transform Regression With an Application to NASA F/A-18 Harv Flight Data

  • This paper applies a recently developed on-line parameter identification (PID) technique to sets of real flight data and compares the results with those of a state-of-the-art off-line PID technique. The on-line PID technique takes Linear Regression from Fourier Transformed equations and the off-line PID is based on the traditional Maximum Likelihood method. Sets of flight data from the NASA F/A-18 High Alpha research Vehicle (HARV) circraft, which has been recorded from specifically designed maneuvers and used for our line parameter estimation, are used for this study. The emphasis is given on the accuracy and on-line measure of reliability of the estimates. The comparison is performed for both longitudinal and lateral-directional dynamics for maneuvers at angles of attack ranging u=20°through $\alpha$=40°. Results of the two estimation processes are also compared with baseline wind tunnel estimates whenever possible.
