기계산업 작업자의 안전성 구축을 위한 작업복 기능배색 연구 1: 상하의 명도 배색을 중심으로 (The Functional Color Arrangements for Industrial Safety in Machinery Work Site 1: Focusing on Lightness Value from Top and Bottom)

  • This study researches functional arrangements for colors of work clothes - concentrating on the arrangements of lightness - for safety protection of workers at the job sites in the mechanical industry. To conduct such study, blue color (5PB) is selected for the CAD simulations on six arrangements of brightness based on two colors. The brightness ranges are of 5PB color (between 3~7.5) which are measurable by Munsell Conversion, and arrangements on lightness consisting of one arrangement of high lightness-gap, two of medium lightness-gap, and three of low lightness-gap. To analyze the data of color values after applying arrangements of lightness and to evaluate the levels of awareness regarding arrangements, the NCS colorimetric is being applied. Color palettes are based on the NCS notations, and then marked with color triangles. After evaluation, the visibility proves to be high when the arrangements contain high lightness at the top and bottom, and the arrangements with higher lightness-gap show higher effects in safety. Since this study tends to check factors of lightness, the other color factors were limited. Therefore, in order to apply these results at the job sites, integrated applications of such results will be very useful for developing safe working clothes in the future.

명도 수준에 다른 목표 샘플의 색차 (Color Differences of Standard Samples according to Their Lightness Levels)

  • A colour-difference formulae would be based on a colour appearance model, but, So far, most colour-difference formulae in common use are based on empirical fits to data. Therefore, of the many proposed, none are completely satisfactory but advances have been made in recent years. A new color-difference data set has been produced with the aims of making a comparison of the advanced CIE Lab formulae as well as confirming the effect of color-difference. 416 low lightness pairs that have only lightness-difference were produced for evaluation of CIE Lab-based formulae on lightness-difference from glossy polyester fabric. The standard color-difference pair was prepared and used. It was neutral grey sample pair that has only lightness difference. The standard pair was used to investigate lightness tolerances. And grey-scale method used to evaluate visual assessment. CIE Lab coordinates of the samples were measured using a X-Rite 8200 spectrophotometer. Visual assessments were carried out using Gretag Macbeth The Judge II Light Booth. A study of color tolerances at low lightness was carried out and get avaliable some results.

The Relationship between Meat Color (CIE L* and a*), Myoglobin Content, and Their Influence on Muscle Fiber Characteristics and Pork Quality

  • This study examined the relationship between meat color and myoglobin content, and evaluated their influence on muscle fiber characteristics and overall pork quality. Four groups of pigs were classified by lightness (CIE $L^*$) and redness (CIE $a^*$): HH, high lightness and high redness; HL, high lightness and low redness; LH, low lightness and high redness; LL, low lightness and low redness. Myoglobin content ranged from 1.2 mg/g to 2.1 mg/g, and was highest in the LH group and lowest in the LL group (p<0.05). Myoglobin content correlated significantly with redness (CIE $a^*$) (r = 0.45, p<0.01). Fiber compositions of type I and IIA were closely related to lightness and redness. Pork with higher sizes of type IIA and IIB fibers had lower lightness and redness, respectively, which was tougher than the other pork. Pork having the highest lightness and lowest redness, often considered "pale", has higher values in drip loss than the other classes of pork tested.

  • In this paper, luminance mapping for uniform color distribution and gamut mapping for maximum chroma reproduction are proposed. In the conventional lightness mapping, the average lightness difference between the two gamut is increased and different color changes in bright and dark regions are also increased. To solve these problems, a lightness mapping is proposed that minimizes the lightness difference of the cusps at each hue angle and produces same color changes in bright and dark regions. Also, chroma mapping that utilize variable anchor point and an anchor point are proposed for maximum chroma reproduction and uniform color change. The proposed algorithm reduce a sudden color change on the gamut boundary of the printer and to maintain a uniform color change during the mapping process. Accordingly, the proposed algorithm can reproduce high quality images with low-cost color devices.

건축 환경의 투명성 효과와 경량적 표현 (Transparency Effects and Visual Lightness of Architectural Space Environment)

  • While transparency in general refers to the structure that is optically luminant or pleasant in its lightness, it is often synonymous with the concept of "modernistic." The advancement in construction and design technologies and the development of new materials with versatility adds even further diversity to transparency in architectural expression. The purpose of this study is to analyze various conceptions about transparency effects by comparing diverse expressions of visual lightness effects in space design. For this, I categorize and exemplify visual lightness effects of space applied to transparent materials. I argue that by utilizing transparent materials, the perception of space as well as boundaries between exterior and interior can be profoundly transformed. Space that overlaps through transparent boundaries creates atmosphere which deepens the architectural space environments.ironments.

  • This study attempted to make a comparative investigation into architecture and fashion. It was intended to grasp the contemporary meaning of fashion expressed in fashion by investigating the image of lightness expressed in contemporary fashion. With the increasing trend of the characteristics of lightness over the whole field of contemporary design, this study took an opportunity to probe its understanding and a desirable direction of expression. The study results were summarized as follows: First, flexibility conveys comfortableness and lightness that makes people feel wear no costume in a soft and flowing style. This phenomenon is thought to express the desire to depart from the dismal and heavy ideology of the past times. Second, lightness is expressed as the virtual transparency felt from what is spatial. It shows a sense of openness while removing the internal and external boundary. Third, liberalness expresses the unfettered consciousness of freedom by expressing an open, free image through free, thin and transparent fashion.

  • A desire to lightness of architecture has continued from the past to today. As Paul Virilio mentioned "The aesthetics of disappearance starts from a desire", the desire of architecture to lightness assumes the connection to hidden dimension of everything over the freedom of materials when it is related to the aesthetics of disappearance. This study assumes that the lightness of an architecture today can be interpreted by means of the aesthetics of disappearance. The lightness of an architecture is a concept for the potential possibility of an architecture. Therefore, it is to analyze the relationship by connecting the features of the lightness which is obtained from the examples of the Cartier foundation of Jean Nouvel and Seattle central library of Rem Koolhaas to the aesthetics of disappearance, that is, the disappearance of the materials, disappearance of the subjects, disappearance of the meaning and disappearance of physical. Based on these, it is also to prove the influence of the aesthetic of disappearance on the architecture as a social phenomenon of technology today.

  • 본 논문에서는 균일한 색 분포를 위한 밝기 사상과 최대 색도 재현을 위한 색역 사상 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 밝기 사상시 발생하는 두 색역에서의 평균 밝기의 차이의 증가 및 어두운 영역과 밝은 영역에서의 색 변화의 차이가 증가하는 문제를 해결하기 위하여 각 색상의 정점에서의 밝기 차이를 최소화하고 밝은 영역과 어두운 영역에서의 균일한 색 분포를 가지는 밝기 사상 방법을 제안하였다. 또한, 최대 채도 유지 및 균일 색 분포를 위한 가변 닻점과 고정 닻점을 혼합으로 사용하는 색역 사상 방법을 제안하였다. 따라서 저가의 칼라 출력장치에서 고화질의 칼라를 재현할 수 있게 한다.

90년대초 복식에 나타난 가벼움에 관한 고찰 (A Study On the Concept of Lightness in Fashion of the Early 1990's)

  • It has been representing the delicate changes which express new sentiments through the floating, fluid, free look with the transparent, sheer material in fashion during the early 1990's. The concept of lightness is selected to describe the phenomenon of recent fashion. The purpose of this study is to identify the distinctive characteristics of lightness as external forms and internal meaning in fashion of the early 1990's. The data were collected from fashion magazines such as American Vogue, Italian Vogue from 1987 to 1994. The characteristics of lightness of fashion in the early 1990's are as follows; The external forms are consisted of the material such as the transparent, sheer, soft material, of slim and bell silhouette which occupying the more space in bottom, of the drapery, pleats to shape the unfitted look and is identified as the open, whole, indeterminate and planar intergration form according to the category of clothing form suggested by Belong. It is also the reflection of the social changes which is getting out of the modernity. It is the results of the dominant social state which are diffused the sensual pleasures, transitoriness.
