  • This paper presents an experimental analysis of the growth and oxidation processes of soot particles generated in an isooctane diffusive laminar flame due to incomplete combustion. The effects of iron-based diagnostics were employed to measure the elastic scattering light from soot particles in a flame at different flame heights, and the differential scattering coefficients were calculated through a calibration process. The growth and oxidation of soot particles in flame was investigated by comparing differential scattering coefficients, and the soot volume fraction was seen to decrease in the soot oxidation process. In the same manner, the differential scattering coefficients were calculated for iron-based fuel-additive seeded flame, and these coefficients were revealed to be smaller than those obtained in the fuel-additive unseeded flame. In addition, transmission through the radial direction of the flame was measured, and transmission in the soot oxidation regime was approximately 5% higher for the seeded flame. The propensity of the data coincided well with the differential scattering coefficients, and it can be concluded that the iron component of the fuel additive plays a crucial role as a catalyst, which eventually enhanced soot particle oxidation.

  • To improvement life-time of the organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs). We investigate the inorganic composite film based on MgO and $SiO_2$ to protect from the moisture and oxygen. The inorganic composite films are added the base materials to the co-operate materials using the mixed process and it is deposited on plastic substrate by e-beam evaporator. In order to analyze as kinds of inorganic materials, Water Vapor method of Transmission Rate (WVTR) and Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) are measured by Permatran equipment(MOCON Corp.). For comparison. an MgD- and $SiO_2$-based composite film has lower values of WVTR and OTR than inorganic composite/compound films of ones. The results obtained here shows that this film is suitable for passivation layer to extend the life-time of OLEDs.

  • We have experimentally demonstrated the transmission performance of a feedforward optical transmitter using an external light injection technique. The feedforward compensation method shows 31 dB intermodulation distortion suppression and 2.2 dB noise reduction. A high side-mode suppression ratio exceeding 35 dB of the wavelength of the locked Fabry-Perot laser diode was obtained over 12 nm ranges. The suppression characteristics of the intermodulation distortion for various wavelength differences and transmission lengths were measured and analyzed as the evaluation criteria for the system performance in WDM/SCM based radio-over-fiber systems.

  • LED(Light Emitting Diode) components have advantages of longer lifetime, lower power consumption and easy-to-control, compare to normal lamp and fluorescent light, according to the development of recent technologies. Thus, lots of illuminations which utilize LED components could be used. Recently, Visible Light Communication(VLC) which is a part of communication technologies, utilizing high speed response characteristic of LED components, started receiving public attention. In case of VLC, there is no need of frequency allocation due to no use of radio, but also no interference exists during data transmission, much different in ISM((Industrial Scientific Medical band). This is the reason why a lot of research results about VLC are becoming issued. In this paper, a survey of feasibility for using VLC utilizing an original LED illumination for underwater applications has been done and a primitive possibility of its application has been examined.

  • Than fluorescent lamps or light bulbs, long life, small power consumption and to the development of modern technology, LED (Light Emitting Diode) devices have the advantage of easy control. For these reasons, using the LED device, lighting has been widely used. LED using optical fiber technology using LED lighting technology with the development of wireless communication technology is attracting attention again. Using LED lights this study analyzed the performance of the technology transfer and implementation of the information transmission system of the visible light communication using LED lighting of the White Visible Light Communication (VLC) based PC module transmitter and receiver modules. Has made a system that can transmit information more than the value of the initial distance ~ 50cm, depending on the presence or absence of the lens, in order to increase the efficiency of the LED modules with different efficiencies that could confirm the performance of the implementation of the research, analysis, and application methods. and about the possibility that you want to check.

  • Visible light communication, which transmits information using visible light, has advantages such as ultra-high speed, ultra-delay, and ultra-connectivity, so research is being conducted as a way to complement 6G communication. In this paper, a study was conducted to overcome the performance degradation caused by the RGB mixing ratio in visible light communication. In a visible light communication system using LED lighting, the role of lighting is an important function, and when used for communication, the performance difference according to the RGB mixing ratio inevitably occurs. In particular, if the intensity of light is below a certain standard, the problem of deteriorating the performance of the entire system occurs. In this study, when a certain performance or less occurs in the communication system caused by the difference in the mixing ratio among the three RGB channels, the remaining two signals except the LED with the best performance are transmitted to STBC (Space-Time Block Coding) to ensure the quality of communication. A computer simulation was performed to verify the performance of the proposed system, and it can be seen that the performance of the proposed system is improved compared to the existing system.

  • The VLC (visible light communication) system is communication technology using visible rays (RGB) that come out in LED device. It is energy curtailment effect and possible in ubiquitous network service applications. Also, VLC system has the above advantage about that the communication throughout the whole room is enabled by high power lighting and lighting equipment with white colored LED which are easy to install and have good outward appearance. However, the signal detection performance for the receiver near the network of transmitter boundary is severely degraded and the transmission efficiency decreased due to the influence of the interference signal from the adjacent networks. In this paper, we propose an interference mitigation method with optical beamforming in VLC systems, and evaluate the reception performance. For the system BER, the proposed optical beamforming transmission demonstrates the performance enhancement compared to the not using the optical beamforming scheme, and up to about 5~6dB SNR performance gain is achieved.

  • In this paper, we investigated the effect of light on the performance of the receiver system noise and external noise added from the ever-present influence in general optical system. And calculated the reception sensitivity of the receiver at the time of off-keying transmission - from the optical transmission system in consideration of the case that the photo detector has a quantum yield of less than one-one. Not less than 50 it was confirmed that it is possible to configure the low power system is calculated and compared with the case where less than 300 the receiver sensitivity of the optical system to maintain the standard error probability. However, even if these values were considered, and the preamplifier in the receiver, considering a case of using a low-output light source, so that a heavy burden in the value less than the actual system installation, using the light source having less than the output, as shown in Figure 3, the results that were obtained also may be used.
