This paper is a study of an empirical design of an open-ended coaxial cavity resonator. It can be done by using the radius of the inner conductor, the inner radius and the length of the resonator. However, the basic coaxial transmission -line theory can be seen that the characteristics of the resonant frequency and the Q value are varied by the change of length, regardless of the value of radius of the inner conductor and inner radius of the resonator. We find out the impact of radius of the inner conductor, inner radius of the resonator and the length of the resonator parameter and propose the optimized empirical resonator design method by reducing the error between the theoretical value and the design value. Based on the simulation, several resonators are fabricated by the size of 14 mm for the radius of inner conductor, 2 mm, 5 mm, 10 mm respectively for the inner radius of resonator, and 8.5 mm for the length of the resonator. The resonant frequencies of the produced resonators were measured at 6.1, 5.7, 6.5 GHz respectively. According to the result of simulation and measurement, we know that we can design the relatively exact open-ended coaxial cavity resonator by applying the basic coaxial transmission-line theory directly when the length of the resonator is less than 10 mm, and adding the correction factor of 0.5 GHz to the calculated resonant frequency in case of more than 10 mm of the length of the resonator.
In order to investigate forced convection heat transfer due to the wind from the inner surface of a cavity receiver for a parabolic dish type solar energy collecting system, a two-dimensional rectangular cavity receiver is prepared and installed in a wind tunnel. The convection heat transfer coefficient of the inner surface of the receiver is dependent on the direction and the velocity of the wind. The attack angle of the cavity and the air velocity in the tunnel are controlled in a wide range so that the effects of the attack angle and the wind velocity on the heat transfer coefficient can be studied. The skirt is installed at the aperture of the cavity in order to reduce convective heat loss. The effects of the length and the installation angle of the skirt on convection heat transfer of the cavity are tested. It is found that convection heat loss can be significantly reduced by installing the skirt. Also, it is known that heat transfer from the cavity can be minimized if the angle of the skirt is $90^{\circ}$ to the outer surface of the cavity.

The air velocity flowing in inner combustion chamber of Scramjet is supersonic and the time of its stay is very short as a few milliseconds. Within this short time, fuel injection, air-fuel mixing, and combustion process should be accomplished. Several methods are suggested for mixing enhancement. Among these, cavity is selected to study for enhancement of mixing. The numerical simulation is performed in the case of freestream Mach number of 2.5 and cavity located in front of fuel jet injection. 8 different sized cavities of length-height ratio were used in order to recognize the effect about cavity size. Also, the case without cavity was analyzed to find the effect of cavity. Used code compared with the result of experiment under identical conditions and it was verified. Through this comparison and verification, mixing enhancement by cavity could be confirmed.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the distribution of stress in the root end resected teeth. The finite element method was used to compare stresses along the root and retrograde filling material in seven two-dimensional models of mandibular 2nd premolar. Each model was endodontic treatment and gold crown' restoration. Each model divided with amagam core restoration or gold casting post restoration. Thus each model divided with shape of root end resection, depth of retropreparation and exposure length of root in the bony cavity. The seven models were classified as in the table 1 below. A load of 500N was applied $45^{\circ}$ diagonally on the lingual slope of the buccal cusp. These mode were analyzed with two dimensional finite element methods. The results of this study were as follows : 1. The maximum tensile stress along the inner canal wall was shown on the model 7. 2. When the model 1 was compared with the model 5, the maximum tensile stress along the inner canal wall showed the model 1. 3. Less equivalent stress was shown on the model 6 and more equivalent stress was shown on the model 4. 4. More shear stress was shown on the retrograde filling material of the model 7. 5. The models with increased length of exposed root in the bony cavity demonstrated a gradual increase to the tensile stress in X direction which occurred approximately a boundary between the bone and exposed root in' the bony cavity. 6. The model which had a case of matching the apex of post and a boundary between the bone and exposed root in the bony cavity demonstrated more increase tensile stress in X direction than other models.
Serial ultrasonographic examinations were performed on 9 pregnant Korea Jin-do dog from days 15 to 60 to determine the size of gestational structures throughout pregnancy. Gestational age was timed from the day of ovulation (Day 0), which was estimated to occur when plasma progesterone concentration was first increased above 4.0 ng/ml. Extra-fetal structures were measureable from days 17 to 49. Outer uterine diameter increased from $7.0{\pm}0.7$ ($mean{\pm}SD$)mm at day 17 to $54.0{\pm}2.2mm$ at day 49 and inner chorionic cavity diameter increased from $3.0{\pm}0.7mm$ at day 17 to $37.5{\pm}0.6mm$ at day 49. Uterine wall thickness increased from $2.8{\pm}0.4mm$ at day 17 to $8.3{\pm}0.5mm$ at day 49, placental thickness increased from $1.0{\pm}0.1mm$ at day 22 to $5.7{\pm}0.2mm$ at day 49 and length of chorionic cavity or zonary placenta increased from $5.5{\pm}1.3mm$ at day 20 to $52.3{\pm}2.2mm$ at day 49. Inner chorionic cavity diameter, outer uterine diameter and placental length each increased at a linear rate through day 37, after which time, each had a marked plateau in growth. Of the extra-fetal structures, inner chorionic cavity diameter was the most accurate for estimation of gestational age until day 37. Fetal structures were measureable from days l7 to 60. Crown-rump length, increased from $3.0{\pm}0.7mm$ at day 22 to $118.7{\pm}3.1mm$ at day 49, fetal body diameter increased from $4.0{\pm}0.7mm$ at day 25 to $55.8{\pm}1.7mm$ at day 60 and fetal head diameter increased from $4.3{\pm}0.6mm$ at day 26 to $29.8{\pm}0.8mm$ at day 60. Of the fetal structures, fetal head diameter was the most accurate for estimation of gestational age from day 37 until day 60.
Serial ultrasonographic examination was daily performed on 12 pregnant Shih-tzu bitches from day 15 until parturition to determine the size of gestational structures. Gestational age was timed from the day of ovulation (day 0), which was estimated to occur when plasma progesterone concentration was first increased above 4.0 ng/ml. Extra-fetal structures were measurable from days 17 to 46. Outer uterine diameter increased from $9.9{\pm}0.4$ mm (Mean${\pm}$SD) at day 20 to $44.3{\pm}0.8$ mm at day 46 and inner chorionic cavity diameter increased from $7.2{\pm}0.2$ mm at day 17 to $36.9{\pm}1.5$mm at day 41. Length of chorionic cavity or zonary placenta increased from $6.6{\pm}0.4$ mm at day 21 to $46.4{\pm}0.9$ mm at day 44. Of the extra-fetal structures, inner chorionic cavity diameter was the most accurate for estimation of gestational age until day 38. Fetal structures were measurable from days 23 to 60. Crown-rump length increased from $3.9{\pm}0.3$ mm at day 23 to $55.2{\pm}3.3$ mm at day 41, fetal body diameter increased from $7.9{\pm}0.6$ mm at day 32 to $47.8{\pm}2$ mm at day 60, and fetal head diameter increased from $6.3{\pm}1.1$ mm at day 29 to $25.6{\pm}0.2$ mm at day 60. Of the fetal structures, fetal head diameter was the most accurate for estimation of gestational age from day 38 until day 60.

In this paper, resonance frequencies of a reentrant cavity are computed by the mode matching method and the mode orthogonality. The reentrant cavity is composed of a coaxial cable and a cylindrical waveguide, so that resonance frequencies of the resonator can be varied by adjusting the length of the inner conductor of a coaxial cable. The result can be applied to numerous microwave devices such as klystron, wavemeter and resonant circuits of a amplifier and to the measurement of dielectric parameters.

In this paper the tuning characteristics of resonant frequencies are experimentally studied through the variation of the length of the inner conducting rod in a re-enterant eavity resonator. The re-enterant eavity resonator consists of a coaxial cable and a cylindrical wave guide. The length of the inner conducting rod can be varied to the longitudinal direction. The resonant frequencies of TMonq modes are measured according to the arbitrary length. In order to verify the propriety of experimental results, experimental results are compared with other theoretical results. The results in this paper can be applied to wave meter and resonant circuit of amplifier. They will be use to vary resonant frequencies of a dielectric resonator in MIC and filter.
