Defect detection is one of the key factors in fabric quality control. To improve the speed and accuracy of denim fabric defect detection, this paper proposes a defect detection algorithm based on cascading feature extraction architecture. Firstly, this paper extracts these weight parameters of the pre-trained VGG16 model on the large dataset ImageNet and uses its portability to train the defect detection classifier and the defect recognition classifier respectively. Secondly, retraining and adjusting partial weight parameters of the convolution layer were retrained and adjusted from of these two training models on the high-definition fabric defect dataset. The last step is merging these two models to get the defect detection algorithm based on cascading architecture. Then there are two comparative experiments between this improved defect detection algorithm and other feature extraction methods, such as VGG16, ResNet-50, and Xception. The results of experiments show that the defect detection accuracy of this defect detection algorithm can reach 94.3% and the speed is also increased by 1-3 percentage points.
Our recent observations of the Sun through strong spectral lines have revealed several important properties of the three-minute umbral oscillations inside sunspots -- the oscillations of intensity and Doppler velocity with periods of 2 to 3 minutes. The oscillations usually occur in the form of a time series of oscillation packets each of which lasts 10 to 20 minutes, not as continuous trains. Each oscillation packet is characterized by a singly peaked power spectrum of velocity oscillation. The oscillations propagate in the vertical direction from the photosphere to the corona. In the upper chromosphere, they develop into shocks that eventually collide with the transition region. When shocks propagate along a highly inclined direction, the merging of two successive shocks can take place. Once they enter the corona, they change to linear compressional waves. In the image plane, the three-minute oscillations propagate with high speeds in the transverse direction as well, usually propagating radially outwards from a point, and sometimes accompanying spiraling patterns of Doppler velocity. These observational properties can be theoretically explained by postulating the spatio-temporally localized source of fast MHD waves at a depth of about 2000 km below the surface, the excitation of slow MHD waves via mode conversion near the photosphere, and the resonance of the slow waves in the photospheric layer below the temperature minimum, and the nonlinear development of slow waves in the chromosphere.

Capacity of modem storage devices is becoming larger than yesterday and integration of disk is increasing. It refers that physical errors can damage a lot of digital information on storage devices. So we propose file system test framework in this paper to test integrity and robustness of file systems. We develop the tool for generating bad sectors on disks and the tool which creates all physical errors defined in storage devices. We also develop the tool for immediately monitoring the condition of read and write execution on storage devices. So, by integrating those tools, we develop FORT, test framework for confirming robustness of file system. We analyze robustness of ext3 file systems by FORT. Lastly, we present draft of intelligent system merging file system and device driver's layer architecture.
The present study investigates the heat transfer characteristics of droplet growth during dropwise condensation on the hydrophobic copper surface. We use the copper specimen coated by the self-assembled layer and conduct the real-time measurement of droplet size and spatial distribution of condensates during condensation with the use of the K2 lens (long distance microscope lens) and CMOS camera. The temperatures are measured by three RTDs (resistance temperature detectors) that are located through the holes made in the specimen. The surface temperature is estimated by the measured temperatures with the use of the one-dimensional conduction equation. It is observed that the droplets on the surface are growing up and merging, causing larger droplets. The experimental results show that there are three distinct regimes; in the first regime, individual small droplets are created on the surface in the early stage of condensation, and they are getting larger owing to direct condensation and coalescence with other droplets. In the second and third regimes, the coalescence occurs mainly, and the droplets are detached from the surface. Also, the fall-off time becomes faster as the surface wettability decreases. In particular, the heat transfer coefficient increases substantially with the decrease in wettability because of faster removal of droplets on the surfaces for lower wettability.
Several commercial companies that plan to provide improved panchromatic and/or multi-spectral remote sensor data in the near future are suggesting that merge datasets will be of significant value. This study evaluated the utility of one major merging process-process components analysis and its inverse. The 6 bands of 30$\times$30m Landsat TM data and the 10$\times$l0m SPOT panchromatic data were used to create a new 10$\times$10m merged data file. For the image classification, 6 bands that is 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th band may be used in conjunction with supervised classification algorithms except band 6. One of the 7 bands is Band 6 that records thermal IR energy and is rarely used because of its coarse spatial resolution (120m) except being employed in thermal mapping. Because SPOT panchromatic has high resolution it makes 10$\times$10m SPOT panchromatic data be used to classify for the detailed classification. SPOT as the Landsat has acquired hundreds of thousands of images in digital format that are commercially available and are used by scientists in different fields. After the merged, the classifications used supervised classification and neural network. The method of the supervised classification is what used parallelepiped and/or minimum distance and MLC(Maximum Likelihood Classification) The back-propagation in the multi-layer perception is one of the neural network. The used method in this paper is MLC(Maximum Likelihood Classification) of the supervised classification and the back-propagation of the neural network. Later in this research SPOT systems and images are compared with these classification. A comparative analysis of the classifications from the TM and merged SPOT/TM datasets will be resulted in some conclusions.
In the present study, we investigate the flow characteristics of a quadrotor UAV in a hovering mode by measuring multiple two-dimensional velocity fields in the wake. The experiment is conducted at Re = 24,000 in a chamber large enough to neglect the ground effect, where Re is the Reynolds number based on the rotor chord length and the rotor tip speed. The rotational speed of the rotor is determined by an optical tachometer so that the lift force can be balanced with the weight of the UAV. The velocity field measured on the center plane of the rotor shows that the vortices are shedding from the tip of the rotor, inducing large fluctuations in the streamwise velocity along the wake shear layer. The strength of the rotor-tip vortex shedding is asymmetric with respect to the rotor axis due to the interaction between the rotor and the wake centerline of each rotor is inclined to the center of the UAV due to the pressure difference caused by the induced velocity. The wake from each rotor moves closer to each other while traveling in the streamwise direction, and then is merged together inducing large fluctuations in the transverse velocity. Due to the wake merging, on the center plane of the UAV, the velocity increases in the streamwise direction showing two-peak structure in the streamwise velocity contours.

The need for broadband wireless data networks such as IEEE 802.16e WiMAX systems increases as a variety of wireless information devices like smart phones are adopted rapidly in everyday life. Since most of mobile applications employ TCP as their transport layer protocol, the performance improvement of TCP in WiMAX systems is crucial. This paper proposes an efficient method to transmit uplink piggyback ACK packets by exploiting the uplink packet buffering which happens because of the resource allocation scheme of the WiMAX systems. The proposed method can support not only the ACK filtering but also the merging of the piggyback ACK packets. As a result, the bandwidth reduction in the piggyback ACK packet transmission leads to the improvement of the downlink throughput. The simulation results show that the bandwidth for the ACK packets reduces more than 90%, and the downlink throughput increases at least 30%.

One of the important applications of THz time-domain spectroscopy (TDS) is the detection of explosive materials through identification of vibrational fingerprint spectra. Most recent THz spectroscopic measurements have been made using pellet samples, where disorder effects contribute to line broadening, which results in the merging of individual resonances into relatively broad absorption features. To address this issue, we used the technique of parallel plate waveguide (PPWG) THz-TDS to achieve sensitive characterization of three explosive materials: TNT, RDX, and HMX. The measurement method for PPWG THz-TDS used well-established ultrafast optoelectronic techniques to generate and detect sub-picosecond THz pulses. All materials were characterized as powder layers in 112 ${\mu}m$ gaps in metal PPWG. To illustrate the PPWG THz-TDS method, we described our measurement by comparing the vibrational spectra of the materials, TNT, RDX, and HMX, applied as thin powder layers to a PPWG, or in conventional sample cell form, where all materials were placed in Teflon sample cells. The thin layer mass was estimated to be about 700 ${\mu}g$, whereas the mass in the sample cell was ~100 mg. In a laboratory environment, the absorption coefficient of an explosive material is essentially based on the mass of the material, which is given as: ${\alpha}({\omega})=[ln(I_R({\omega})/I_S({\omega}))]m$. In this paper, we show spectra of 3 different explosives from 0.2 to 2.4 THz measured using the PPWG THz-TDS.
An unusual autumn storm developed rapidly in the western part of the East sea on the early morning of 23 October 2006. This storm produced a record-breaking heavy rain and strong wind in the northern and middle part of the Yeong-dong region; 24-h rainfall of 304 mm over Gangneung and wind speed exceeding 63.7 m $s^{-1}$ over Sokcho. In this study, MTSAT-1R (Multi-fuctional Transport Satellite) water vapor and infrared channel imagery are examined to find out some features which are dynamically associated with the development of the storm. These features may be the precursor signals of the rapidly developing storm and can be employed for very short range forecast and nowcasting of severe storm. The satellite features are summarized: 1) MTSAT-1R Water Vapor imagery exhibited that distinct dark region develops over the Yellow sea at about 12 hours before the occurrence of maximum rainfall about 1100 KST on 23 October 2006. After then, it changes gradually into dry intrusion. This dark region in the water vapor image is closely related with the positive anomaly in 500 hPa Potential Vorticity field. 2) In the Infrared imagery, low stratus (brightness temperature: $0{\sim}5^{\circ}C$) develops from near Bo-Hai bay and Shanfung peninsula and then dissipates partially on the western coast of Korean peninsula. These features are found at 10~12 hours before the maximum rainfall occurrence, which are associated with the cold and warm advection in the lower troposphere. 3) The IR imagery reveals that two convective cloud cells (brightness temperature below $-50^{\circ}C$) merge each other and after merging it grows up rapidly over the western part of East sea at about 5 hours before the maximum rainfall occurrence. These features remind that there must be the upward flow in the upper troposphere and the low-layer convergence over the same region of East sea. The time of maximum growth of the convective cloud agrees well with the time of the maximum rainfall.

In this study, we carried out the 3D numerical simulation to investigate the hydraulic characteristics of Synchronous Edge wave known as the driving mechanism of beach cusp using the Tool Box called the ihFoam that has its roots on the OpenFoam. As a wave driver, RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equation) and mass conservation equation are used. In doing so, we materialized short-crested waves known as the prerequisite for the formation of Synchronous Edge waves by generating two obliquely colliding Cnoidal waves. Numerical results show that as can be expected, flow velocity along the cross section where waves are focused are simulated to be much faster than the one along the cross section where waves are diverged. It is also shown that along the cross section where waves are focused, up-rush is moving much faster than its associated back-wash, but a duration period of up-rush is shortened, which complies the typical characteristics of nonlinear waves. On the other hand, due to the water-merging effect triggered by the redirected flow toward wave-diverging area at the pinacle of run-up, along the cross section where waves are diverged, offshore-ward velocity is larger than shore-ward velocity at the vicinity of shore-line, while at the very middle of shoaling process, the asymmetry of flow velocity leaned toward the shore is noticeably weakened. Considering that these flow characteristics can be found without exception in Synchronous Edge waves, the numerical simulation can be regarded to be successfully implemented. In doing so, new insight about how the boundary layer streaming occur are also developed.
