This paper presents comparative results of configuration modeling and aerodynamic analysis to single-engine airplanes such as C-172, SR-20, and DA40NG. The software OpenVSP was used as an airplane configuration modeling tool. OpenVSP can provide the fastest method to get three-dimensional aircraft configuration from given basic data and drawings of aircraft. Parametric design input in OpenVSP, from given aircraft geometric parameters, was applied to small airplanes mentioned. New aircraft models in this study were reversely designed to coincide with the publicly obtained dimensions of the original aircraft. The basic aerodynamic analysis of newly designed modeling aircraft was performed by the vortex lattice method. Results are shown that the similarity of aerodynamic data obtained except for the lack of DA40NG. In conclusion, the modeling process applied to this work is valuable to obtain conceptual design insight in the reverse design from the small airplanes currently in use for flight training.

In this study, the effect of planform curvature on the stability of coupled flow/structure vibration is examined in transonic and supersonic flow regions. The aeroelastic analysis for the frequency and time domain is performed to obtain the flutter solution. The doublet lattice method(DLM) in subsonic flow is used to calculate unsteady aerodynamics in the frequency domain. For all speed range, the time domain nonlinear unsteady transonic small disturbance code has been incorporated into the coupled-time integration aeroelastic analysis (CTIA). Two curved wings with experimental data have been considered in this paper MSC/NASTRAN is used for natural free vibration analyses of wing models. Predicted flutter dynamic pressures and frequencies are compared with experimental data in subsonic and transonic flow regions.

This paper presents a 3D last design system utilizing an uniform foot pressure FFD method. The proposed uniform foot pressure FFD(UFPFFD) is operated on the rule of foot pressure unbalance analysis and FFD. The deformation factor of the UFPFFD is constructed on the FFD lattice with the foot pressure unbalance analysis on the measured 3D foot bottom shape. In addition, the control points of FFD lattice are decided on the anatomical point and the foot pressure distribution. The 3D last design result obtained from the proposed UFPFFD is saved as a 3D dxf data format. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed last design guarantees the balanced foot pressure distribution against on the conventional last design method.

In this study, we suggested wave-variable Bragg lattice using the characteristic of the Bragg wave that varies according to the change of the temperature imposed on the optical fiber lattice device, and experimented using a simulation test. We analyzed the results of the FBG change according to the change of the temperature obtained in the variable FEG computer simulation and experiment to suggest optimal data. Therefore, utilizing wave-variable optical filter through FBG allows us to combine other channels beyond optical fiber lattice device wave, and can be used as a helpful device in the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexed system with a channel intervention of 0.08nm(10GHz).

In the present study, a laminar natural convection flow of $H_2O$-Cu nanofluid in a two dimensional enclosure has been investigated using a thermal lattice Boltzmann approach with the Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook (BGK) model. The effect of suspended nanoparticles on the fluid flow and heat transfer process have been studied for different controlling parameters such as particle volume fraction ($\Phi$), Rayleigh number (Ra). For this investigation the Rayleigh number changes from 104 to 106 and volume fraction varied from 0 to 10% with three different particle diameters (dp), say 10 nm, 20 nm and 40 nm. It is shown that increasing the Rayleigh number (Ra) and the volume fraction of nanofluid causes an increase of the effective heat transfer rate in terms of average Nusselt number (Nu) as well as the thermal conductivity of nanofluid. On the other hand, increasing the particle diameter causes the decrease of the heat transfer rate and thermal conductivity. The result of the analysis are compared with experimental and numerical data both for pure and nanofluids and it is seen a relatively good agreement.
Specific heat of a crystal is the sum of electronic specific heat, which is the specific heat of conduction electrons, and lattice specific heat, which is the specific heat of the lattice. Since properties such as crystal structure and Debye temperature do not change even in the superconducting state, the lattice specific heat may remain unchanged between the normal and the superconducting state. The difference of specific heat between the normal and superconducting state may be caused only by the electronic specific heat difference between the normal and superconducting states. Critical temperature, at which transition occurs, becomes lower than $T_{c0}$ under the influence of a magnetic field. It is well known that specific heat also changes abruptly at this critical temperature, but magnetic field dependence of jump of specific heat has not yet been developed theoretically. In this paper, specific heat jump of superconducting crystals at low temperature is derived as an explicit function of applied magnetic field H by using the thermodynamic relations of A. C. Rose-Innes and E. H. Rhoderick. The derived specific heat jump is compared with experimental data for superconducting crystals of $MgCNi_3$, $LiTi_2O_4$ and $Nd_{0.5}Ca_{0.5}MnO_3$. Our specific heat jump function well explains the jump up or down phenomena of superconducting crystals.

Blackhole attack, a kinds of attacks to routing function, can cause critical effects to network transmission function, Especially, on MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc Network) which it is not easy to prepare functions to respond malicious intrusion, transmission functions of entire networks could be degraded. In this paper, effects of blackhole attack to network transmission performance is analyzed on lattice structured MANET. Specially, performance is measured for various location of blackhole attack on lattice MANET, and compared with the performance of random structured MANET. This paper is done with computer simulation, VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) traffic is used in simulation. The results of this paper can be used for data to deal with blackhole attack.
To analyze lattice or areal data, a conditionally autoregressive (CAR) model has been widely used in the eld of spatial analysis. The spatial neighborhoods within CAR model are generally formed using only inter-distance or boundaries between regions. Kyung and Ghosh (2010) proposed a new class of models to accommodate spatial variations that may depend on directions. The proposed model, a directional conditionally autoregressive (DCAR) model, generalized the usual CAR model by accounting for spatial anisotropy. Properties of maximum likelihood estimators of a Gaussian DCAR are discussed. The method is illustrated using a data set of median property prices across Greater Glasgow, Scotland, in 2008.
In this study, hydrodynamic performance of a 400 mm diameter horizontal axis marine current turbine model was tested in a cavitation tunnel with 1.21 m x 0.8 m cross-section for over a range of tip speed ratios. Torque and thrust data, as well as cavitation visualizations, for certain operating conditions were acquired. Experimental results indicated that the turbine can be exposed to significant amount of sheet and cloud cavitation over the blades along with vortex cavitation at the blade tips. Inception and distribution of cavitation along the blades of the model turbine were then modelled numerically for design operating conditions using a vortex lattice method. The method was also applied to a turbine tested previously and obtained results were compared with the data available. The comparison between simulation results and experimental data showed a slight difference in terms of span-wise extent of the cavitation region. The cloud and tip vortex cavity observed in experiments cannot be modelled due to the fact that the VLM lacks the ability to predict such types of cavitation. Notwithstanding, the use of such prediction methods can provide a reasonably accurate approach to estimate, therefore take the hydrodynamic effects of cavitation into account in design and analysis of marine current turbines.
