실 사이드의 열간 프레스 성형을 위한 트림리스 블랭크 설계 (Trimless Blank Design for Hot Stamping Process of a Sill Side)

  • The trimming process is required for satisfying the dimensions of a final product in the hot stamping process. In general, the mechanical trimming or laser trimming process is applied after hot stamping. However, these processes have several disadvantages such as short tool life and low productivity. Therefore, in this study, the optimal trimless blank shape for the hot stamping process of a sill side was designed to remove the trimming process after hot stamping. In order to design the trimless blank, numerical analysis was performed. Firstly, CFD analysis was carried out to predict the cooling temperature and holding time of the hot stamping process. Then, the optimal trimless blank shape was determined through FE analysis. The effectiveness of the designed trimless blank shape was verified through a hot stamping experiment at an actual industrial site.

Optimization of Packaging Design of TWEAM Module for Digital and Analog Applications

  • Packaging technologies for a broadband and narrowband modulator with a traveling wave electro-absorption modulator (TWEAM) device were developed. In developing a broadband modulator, the effects of the device and packaging designs on the broadband performance were investigated. The optimized designs were obtained through a simulation with the result that we developed a broadband modulator with a 3 dB bandwidth of 38 GHz in the electrical-to-optical (E/O) response, an electrical return loss of less than -10 dB at up to 26 GHz, an rms jitter of 1.832 ps, and an extinction ratio of 5.38 dB in a 40 Gbps non-return to zero (NRZ) eye diagram. For analog application, the effect of the RF termination scheme on the fractional bandwidth was studied. The microstrip line with a double stub as a matching circuit and a laser trimming process were used to obtain an $S_{11}$ of -34.58 dB at 40 GHz and 2.9 GHz bandwidth of less than -15 dB.

  • The UV laser trimming can be useful to have an accurate performance specification of the passive waveguide devices. In order to measure the change of the refractive index of polymer overclad layer under the irradiation of uv light in a high precision Bragg grating is fabricated on the silica core of planar waveguide and the corresponding transmittance spectrum was analyzed. An effective refractive index change of $4.7x10^{-5}$ was obtained for a straight waveguide when its $60{\mu}m$-thick overclad was irradiated by UV laser pulses of its total fluence 24 $J/cm^2$.

  • With light vehicle weight gradually becoming ever more importance due to tightened exhaust gas regulations, hot-stamping processing using boron alloyed steel is being applied more and more by major automobile OEMs since process assures both moldability and a high strength of 1.5 GPa. Although laser trimming is generally applied to the post-processing of the hot-stamped process with high strength, there have been many studies of in-die hot trimming using shear dies during the quenching of material in order to shorten processing times. As such, this study investigated the effects of the Shear rate and Shear mechanism on shear processes during the quenching process of hot-stamping material. In case of pad variable, padding force is very weak compared with shear force, so it does not affect the shear surface. In case of shear rate, the higher the shear at high temperatures and the higher the friction effect. As a result the rollover and the fracture distribution decreased, and the burnish distribution increased. Therefore, it is considered that the shear quality is guaranteed when high shear rate is applied in high temperature shear process.

  • 자동차 차체를 제작하는 프레스 금형의 가공공정 중 제품의 형태를 완성하는 드로잉 공정 및 불필요한 부분을 절단하는 트리밍 공정은 그 공정의 특성상 금형의 마모가 심하기 때문에 금형의 내마모성을 향상시키기 위한 표면경화처리가 요구되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 프레스 금형에 레이저 표면처리기술을 적용하기 위한 실험을 실시하였다. 드로잉 공정 및 트리밍 공정에 적합한 표면경화처리를 위해 다이오드 레이저를 이용하여 시험편의 평면부 및 모서리부를 열처리하였으며, 각각의 적정 열처리 조건을 도출하였다. 또한 시험편의 재료에 따른 열처리 특성을 비교하기 위해 구상흑연 및 편상흑연 주철을 사용하여 실험을 진행하였다. 실험 결과, 재료에 따른 열처리 특성에 차이가 있다는 것을 확인하였으며, 적정 열처리된 조건에서의 경화부는 모재에 비하여 약 3배 정도의 경도상승을 나타내었다.

자외선 레이저를 이용한 고정밀 저항체 가공기술 개발 (Development of Trimming Technology in High-fine Resistor Using U.V. Laser)

  • 본 논문에서는 백금박막 온도센서의 $0^{\circ}C$, $100{\Omega}$ 세팅을 위해 355nm 파장을 갖는 자외선 레이저를 이용하였다. 국제적으로 온도센서의 A-class 기준오차는 $0^{\circ}C$에서 ${\pm}0.060{\Omega}$이다. 실제적으로 이 값은 $0.15^{\circ}C$이하에 해당하는 오차로 저항체 제작시 고정밀 가공 기술을 필요로 한다. 가공에 이용된 355nm DYP(Diode-Pumped YAG) 레이저는 power : 37mW, rep rate 주파수 : 200Hz 그리고 bite size : $7.5{\mu}m$에서 $1{\sim}1.5{\mu}m$ 두께의 백금박막을 가장 안전하게 가공할 수 있었으며, 가공선폭은 $10{\mu}m$ 안팎임을 확인하였다. 그리고 사진식각 공정기술을 이용하여 제작된 $2"{\times}2"$ 기판내의 96개(4 by 24) 저항체는 상온 $25^{\circ}C$에서 $79{\sim}90{\Omega}$ : 42.7%, $91{\sim}102{\Omega}$ : 57.3%의 비율로 각각 제작되어졌다. $109.73{\Omega}$를 목표 값으로 $25^{\circ}C$에서 자외선 레이저를 이용하여 가공한 결과, 82.3%가 가공오차가 ${\pm}0.03{\Omega}$이하에 들어왔으며 나머지 17.7%도 국제규격 A-Class내인 ${\pm}0.06{\Omega}$내에 포함되었다.

액침 홀로그래픽 리소그래피 기술을 이용한 2 차원 나노패터닝 (Two-dimensional Nano-patterning with Immersion Holographic Lithography)

  • Two-dimensional nano-patterns are fabricated using immersion holographic lithography. The photoresist layer is exposed to an interference pattern generated by two incident laser beams($\lambda$=441.6 nm, He-Cd laser) of which the pitch size is less than 200 nm. Good surface profiles of the 2 dimensional patterns are achieved by trimming the lithography process parameters, such as, exposure time, developing time and refractive index of medium liquid.

  • Various methods of finite element modeling for welded part are examined and the stamping simulation of automotive body is presented by using the explicit finite element code PAM-STAMPTM. The process of stamping simulation is suggested step by step, and then the gravity, binder wrap, forming, trimming and springback of front door inner are analyzed. It shows good agreements with real product in the aspects of deformed shape and failure area. The door inner with laser-tailor welded blank is simulated, in which deformed shape, movement of welde line and formability are predicted.

변위 각도 동시 측정용 복합 레이저 간섭계의 제작과 특성 분석 (Development and performance test of a complex laser interferometer for simultaneously measuring displacement and 2-D angles)

  • A compact linear and angular displacement measurement device was developed by combining a Michelson interferometer and an autocollimator to characterize the movement of a precision stage. A Michelson interferometer and an autocollimator are typical devices for measuring linear and angular displacement, respectively. By controlling the polarization of reflected beam from the target mirror of the interferometer, some part of light was retro-reflected to the light source and the reflected beam was used for angle measurement. The interferometer and the autocollimator use the same optic axis and the target mirror can be easily and precisely aligned orthogonal to the optic axis by monitoring the autocollimator s signal. The autocollimator was designed for angular resolution of 0.1 arcsec and dynamic range of 60 arcsec. The nonlinearity error of interferometer was minimized by trimming the gain and offset of the photodiode signals. Through the experiments, we evaluate the performance of measurement device and discuss its applications.
