REFOCUSING FOR ON-ORBIT MTF COMPENSATION OF REMOTE SENSING CAMERA

  • Refocusing methods are used to compensate optical performance degradation of high resolution satellite camera during on-orbit operation. Due to mechanical vibration during launch and thermal vacuum environment of space where camera is exposed, the alignment of optical system may have error. The focusing error is dominant of misalignment and caused by the de-space error of secondary mirror of catoptric camera, which is most sensitive to vibration and space environment. The high resolution camera of SPOT, Pleiades and KOMPSAT2 have refocusing device to adjust focusing during orbital operation while QuickBird of US does not use on orbit refocusing method. For the Korsch type optical configuration which is preferred for large aperture space remote sensing camera, secondary mirror and folding mirror are available as refocusing element.

  • The nonlinear estimation and the pseudo-linear estimation are used to treat the target localization in sensor network which provides range difference of arrival (RDOA) measurements. It is known that the nonlinear estimation has sensitive problem for the initial estimate and the pseudo-linear estimation has a large estimation error. The QCLS method is the typical estimator of the methods for pseudo-linear estimation. However the estimate by using the QCLS method includes the estimation error because the first stage of two estimation processes of the QCLS method causes the biased estimation error. Therefore we propose a instrumental variables(IV) method for minimizing the estimation error of the first stage. The simulation shows that the performance of the proposed method is superior to the QCLS method.

  • In meteorology, exploitation of Kalman filter as a data assimilation system is virtually impossible due to simultaneous requirements of adjoint model and large computer resource. The other substitute of utilizing ensemble Kalman filter is only affordable by compensating an enormous usage of computing resource. Furthermore, the latter employs ensemble integration sets for evolving the background error covariance matrix by compensating the dynamical feature of the temporal evolution of weather conditions. We propose a new implementation method that works without the adjoint model by utilizing the explicit expression of the background error covariance matrix in backward evolution. It will also break a barrier in the evolution of the covariance matrix. The method may be applied with a slight modification to the real time assimilation or the retrospective analysis.

  • In this paper, we investigate the error performance of a serially concatenated system using a nonrecursive convolutional code as the outer code and a recursive QPSK space-time trellis code as the inner code on quasi-static and rapid Rayleigh fading channels. At the receiver, we consider iterative decoding based on the maximum a posteriori (MAP) algorithm. The performance is evaluated by means of computer simulations and it is shown that better error performance can be obtained by using low complexity outer and/or inner codes and the Euclidean distance criterion based recursive space-time inner codes. We also obtain new systems with large number of trasmit and/or receive antennas providing good error performance.

  • This paper proposes a spatio-temporal correlation algorithm that takes advantage of the spatial and temporal correlations in video streams for error concealment. The spatio-temporal correlation algorithm sets the neighborhood area of the damaged part as a reference window, then finds the area that best matches the reference window in the previous frame. The best-matched area in the previous frame replaces the damaged part in the current frame. The results of ten variations of the proposed algorithm are compared with conventional error concealment methods. These methods include the ones applicable to P-frames as well as I-frames. The comparison results show that the proposed algorithm is very efficient for l-frame error concealment with a large motion between frames.

  • This paper discusses the peg-in-hole task of chamferless parts using force/moment/vision sensors. The directional error occurring during the task are categorized into two cases according to the degree of initial errors, And different Mechanical analysis has been accomplished for each cases. This paper proposes an algorithm which enables to reduce intial directional error using digital Images acquired from hand-eyed vision sensor, And to continue the task even with the large directional error by adjusting the error using digital image processing. The effectiveness of the algorithm has been demonstrated through experimentation using 5-axis robot equipped with a developed controller force/moment sensor and color digital camera on its hand.

데오도라이트 시스템의 측정 오차 요인에 대한 연구 (A Study on Measurement Error Factors of Theodolite System)

  • Theodolite measurement system is non-contacted 3-dimensional measurement system. The system accuracy is ${\pm}0.5mm$or better for distance 0~100m. And the system is used for the measurement of a product of middle and large scale. This study is performed for the measurement error factors of the system. We could know that the main measurement error factors are temperature, illumination and skill. Also, we performed the study for the effect according to the height difference of scale bar.

  • Theodolite measurement system is non-contacted 3-dimensional measurement system. The system accuracy is 0.5 mm or better for distance 0 ~ 100 m. And the system is used for the measurement of a product for middle and large scale. This study was performed for finding the measurement error factors of the system. We could know that the main error factors are temperature, illumination and expertness. And we could find the measurement errors are $\pm$ 0.045 mm at temperature conditions is 2$0^{\circ}C$ and $\pm$ 0.012 mm at illumination condition is 300 lux. Also the results had significant differences by combinations of operator's expertness.

  • 인터넷상의 실시간 음성 전송 시에 발생하는 손실을 은닉하기 위한 다수의 알고리즘들이 제안되고 있다. 이 알고리즘들의 주 목적은 적은 대역폭을 사용하여 손실을 복원하고 복원 후 좋은 음질을 보장하는 것이다. 손실 은닉 알고리즘들은 receiver based와 sender- / receiver-based로 나뉘어진다. 본 논문에서 sender- 와 receiver-based 복원 알고리즘을 CELP를 사용하는 저 비트율 코덱에 적용하고자 한다.

의료과오를 줄이기 위한 효율적인 병원서비스운영에 대한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Efficient Hospital Service Operation Management for the Reduction of Medical Errors)

  • This paper presents a research model, which identifies a relationship between medical error reduction, efficiency of organizational systems, and employee satisfaction with organizational support. The proposed model was tested through hypotheses, based on data collected from 210 respondents from the medical staff of large -sized (i.e., more than 500 beds) residential hospitals in cities of South Korea. The results of the study showed that medical error reduction is associated with corrective system and employee satisfaction with organizational support. Therefore, it is very important that organizations improve their employees' satisfaction by providing sufficient support (e.g., information support and sharing, work guide book, etc.) for their work. In addition, in organizational systems, the corrective system has positive relationship with medical error reduction. In terms of corrective procedures, leaders or managers can make improvements by providing and supporting a friendly work environment where errors may be reported without blame and discussed in order to be corrected.
