Generally, the size of our recreation sites is selected through use demand at the peak day. At same time, scale economic and diseconomic are applied to a recreation site. If you are a rational decision-maker, you would like to select the size of your park at profit-maximization point. This study is the first try for modelling a Gain-Loss by the size options of a theme park. For testing the validity of a financial model to select the size of theme parks. Ever-Land, Seoul-Land, Dream-Land's operating size was analyzed. By the size options, the revenue of each park was compared with cost. The profit-maximization point and break-even point of each park were found. Ever-Land and Dream-Land's size was selected between the profit-maximization point and the break-even point. In contrast with Ever-Land and Dream-Land's, Seoul-Land's was selected upper the break-even point. To increase the utility of this model in selecting the size of a theme park, a decision-maker must keep in mind a few limits of this study. That is, 1) this model can not be applied at public parks. 2) Sometimes the others can be more important than financial revenue and cost. Finally, there is the validity of Gain-Loss Model in estimating only the financial revenues and costs through the size options.

In the post-Cold War era, acquisition technique of high-resolution satellite imagery (HRSI) has begun to commercialize. IKONOS-2 satellite imaging data is supplied for the first time in the 21st century. Many researchers testified mapping possibility of the HRSI data instead of aerial photography. It is easy to renew and automate a topographical map because HRSI not only can be more taken widely and periodically than aerial photography, but also can be directly supplied as digital image. In this study matching size of IKONOS Geo-level stereo image is presented lot production of digital elevation model (DEM). We applied area based matching method using correlation coefficient of pixel brightness value between the two images. After matching line (where "matching line" implies straight line that is approximated to complex non-linear epipolar geometry) is established by exterior orientation parameters (EOPs) to minimize search area, the matching is tarried out based on this line. The experiment on matching size is performed according to land cover property, which is divided off into four areas (water, urban land, forest land and agricultural land). In each of the test areas, window size for the highest correlation coefficient is selected as propel size for matching. As the results of experiment, the proper size was selected as $123{\times}123$ pixels window, $13{\times}13$ pixels window, $129{\times}129$ pixels window and $81{\times}81$ pixels window in the water area, urban land, forest land and agricultural land, respectively. Of course, determination of the matching size by the correlation coefficient may be not absolute appraisal method. Optimum matching size using the geometric accuracy therefore, will be presented by the further work.

This study determines matching size for digital elevation model (DEM) production according to land cover property from IKONOS Geo-level stereo image. We applied area based matching method using correlation coefficient of pixel brightness value between the two images. After matching line (where "matching line" implies straight line that is approximated to complex non-linear epipolar geometry) is established by exterior orientation parameters to minimize search area, the matching is carried out based on this line. The experiment is performed according to land cover property, which is divided off into four areas (water, urban land, forest land and agricultural land). In each of the test areas, matching size is selected using a correlation-coefficient image and parallax image. As the results, optimum matching size of the images was selected as $81{\times}81$ pixels window, $21{\times}21$ pixels window, $119{\times}119$ pixels window and $51{\times}51$ pixels window in the water area, urban land, forest land and agricultural land, respectively.
Farm land is considered the most important production factor in farm production. Land is not only one of the most scarce resource but also the size of land holding is the key factor in determining the size of farm income in Korea. To increase farm productivity by accepting bio-chemical and mechnical technology, the qualitative improvement of farm land through land consolidation and on-farm development have been carried out by the Korean government. Land consolidation with water resource development makes possible the high-tech-capital intensive farming, internal expansion of farm land and hightening the rate of land intensity in connection with UR problems. This paper contained the present status of farm land base development, allocation of investment by types of farm land development and the econome-trical analysis on the effects of the investment on rice productivity during the past 27 years since 1965. The rate of irrigated paddy area had been increased from 42% in 1965 to 74% in 1991. Land consolidated area out of the total paddy area had been achieved 44.9% and the improved rate of poor drained paddy area was shown 43.5% in 1991. To carry out the above farm land base development projects, the government had procured financial budgets consisting of the G't subsidy, long term loan, foreign loan, the provincial G't subsidy, WFP counter fund and farmer's burden.
Background: Ethiopia is among the poorest countries where land degradation caused livelihood problem to its inhabitants. The livelihood of rural communities in Ethiopia is seriously threatened by land degradation. Land is the major natural resource that economic, social, infrastructure, and other human activities are undertaken on. Thus, land resources play an important role in shaping rural livelihoods, and lack of sustainable land management practices leads to land degradation. Thus, this study aimed to analyze interlink between land degradation and livelihood of rural communities in Chilga district, Northwest Ethiopia. It also addresses the factors which influence income diversification for livelihood of households in the study area. Result: The result depicts that the major causes of land degradation are both natural and anthropogenic. Land degradation and livelihood are negatively interlinked with each other. The livelihood of the majority of the population in the study area is dependent on subsistence agriculture both farming and animal husbandry with low diversification. The survey result showed that more than half (69%) of the sample households have farm size of less than 2 ha, nearly one third (31%) have 2.0-2.5 ha, and insignificant number of farmers have more than 2.5 ha. More than 80% of the respondents pointed out that land degradation has impacts both on crop yield and livestock production. Most of the explanatory variables such as gender, age, education level, farmland size, and family size have statistical significant influence (at P < .01 and P < .05 levels) for income diversification of households, while marital status on the other hand is not statistically significant though it has positive relation with income diversification in this study. Conclusions: Our results suggest awareness should be created in the community about the livelihood diversification mechanisms which enabled them to engage in different income-generating activities and comprehensive watershed management should be implemented.
Various matching methods have been introduced by investigators to improve digital elevation model (DEM) accuracy of satellite imagery. This study proposed an area-based matching method according to land cover property using correlation coefficient of pixel brightness value between the two images for DEM generation from IKONOS stereo imagery. For this, matching line (where "matching line" implies straight line that is approximated to complex nonlinear epipolar geometry) is established by exterior orientation parameters to minimize search area. The matching is carried out based on this line. Land cover classes are divided off into water, urban land, forest and agricultural land. Matching size is selected using a correlation-coefficient image in the four areas. The selected sizes are $81{\times}81$ pixels window, $21{\times}21$ pixels window, $119{\times}119$ pixels window and $51{\times}51$ pixels window in the water area, urban land, forest land and agricultural land, respectively. And hence, DEM is generated from IKONOS stereo imagery using the selected matching sizes and land cover map on the four types.

Development of the economic methods and the design of the standard sections needs the more project fund and land than ever leads to the objection of enlarging canal arrangement to need economic construction method development and standard design for supporting it. The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of selected sediment reduction methods to reduce sediment discharges from drain and irrigation of different land types (Mountain, Flatten, Reclaimed land). This study was carried out to analysis for the soil loss and sediment of drain and irrigation by comparing RUSLE method and amount of sediment from amount of dredging data of Korea Rural Corporation. The results of study were analyzed and summarized as follow. Size of soil sediment from the upper region of drain and irrigation of mountains bigger than lower region. But in case of flatten and reclaimed land, size of soil sediment from the upper and lower region of drain and irrigation did not classified. In case of comparison drain and irrigation without classifying of land type, size of soil sediment from irrigation is bigger than drain.

Numerous debates and efforts have been made to utilize land resources more effectively especially for the state-owned land in an urban area. Currently most of small size state-owned lands within urban areas are not used effectively due to the limitations in physical conditions and profitability. Some of these properties are occupied illegally and being used for various private purposes. Considering the shortage of land supply in urban areas, there need to be some improvements in the utilization and management of public land. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to identify and evaluate the location, current uses, physical conditions, and development potential of small size public properties in Seoul area. Data analysis was conducted by using GIS. The results of the study indicate that it is possible to utilize small size state-owned lands within an urban area more rationally and systematically by evaluating the characteristics of neighborhood and the site.

Landcover has been largely influenced by human activities, especially in recent days. The analysis of the change of land use by urbanized development is useful for determining development plan hereafter. This study aimed to the quantitative analysis about the urban sprawl within 12 years from 1985 to 1996, at Chonan, and for extracting the characteristics of change. For this purpose, this study performed land cover classifications using Landsat TM data . A hybrid classification method was used to classify satellite images into seven types of land cover. Road network digitied from 1:25,000 topographic map was rasterized and overlaid on the landcover map. A result of this study showed that area of forest and paddy decreased due to urban sprawl. Especially from 1993 to 1996, the change of land use progressed rapidly because of merging a city and a country in Chonan. The size of patch in forest had been smaller and irregular form. It is a general progress that size of patch in forest had been smaller and irregular form. It is a general progress that the forest have changed the paddy and bare land paddy and bare land have changed low-density urban or high-density urban. This explained how urbanized Chonan was and applied the suggeston of plan in landuse with the result of this study.
In 1990's, two types of land consolidation has been widely carried out to enforce competativeness of rice production in Korea. One is so called large-scale land consolidation for resizing paddy field and farm road, the other is general land consolidation for changing both size and shape of field, water channel and farm road. This study was conducted to evaluate how much effect on fm mechanization the land consolidation had. To evaluate the influence of the land consolidation, theoretical analysis and surveys were accomplished. Land consolidation was analyzed to increase field efficiency by 180 to 670% depending on the type of land consolidation and machine selection. Also, land consolidation brought increment of real working time ratio by reducing traveling time on farm road. Trends of large scale mechanization and increment of custom work were observed to be accelerated by land consolidation. It also gave effect on the pattern of machine troubles. Farmers were conscious of the influence of land consolidation on machine utilization, however, in plains level of satisfaction was shown to be low.
