  • 2G HTS coated conductor wire consists of textured substrate, buffer layer, superconduct layer, Ag cap layer, stabilizer. For practical application filed, coated conductor have mechanical and electrical stability and environment protection properties. This property Cu and stainless steel strip is laminated to Ag cap layer as stabilizer materials. Lamination process join stabilizer material strip and Ag cap layer with soldering method. we have laminated HTS with continuous dipping soldering process different stabilizer Cu and stainless steel strip and changed lamination process condition. The effect of lamination stabilizer and process condition has been investigated mechanical and electrical properties.

  • Fused deposition Modeling (FDM) is one of the most widely used for the prototype of parts at ease. The FDM 3D printing method is a lamination manufacturing method that the resin is melted at a high temperature and piled up one by one. Another term is also referred to as FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication). 3D printing technology is mainly used only in the area of prototype production, not in production of commercial products. Therefore, if FDM 3D printer is applied to the product process of commercial products when considered, the strength and dimensional accuracy of the manufactured product is expected to be important. In this study, the mechanical properties of parts made by 3D printing with FDM method were investigated. The aim of this work is to examine how the mechanical properties of the FDM parts, by changing of processing FDM printing direction and the height of stacking layer is affected. The effect of the lamination direction and the height of the stacking layer, which are set as variables in the lamination process, by using the tensile specimen and impact specimen after the FDM manufacturing process were investigated and analyzed. The PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) was used as the filament materials for the 3D printing.

  • Rapid Prototyping (RP) techniques have their unique characteristics according to the working principles: stair-stepped surface of parts due to layer-by-layer stacking, low build speed caused by line-by-line solidification to build one layer, and additional post processing to improve surface roughness, so it is required very high cost to introduce and to maintain RP apparatus. The objective of this study is to develop and design a new RP process, Variable Lamination Manufacturing using expandable polystyrene foam sheet as part material (VLM-S), which can make up for the disadvantage of existing techniques, and to develop an apparatus to implement the process. In order to examine the possibility of practical utilization of the proposed VLM-S process for prototyping of a general three-dimensional shape, an auto-shift lever knob and a pyramid shape were fabricated.

In order to examine the applicability of the developed software to VLM-S, USP's of general three-dimensional shapes, such as an auto-shift lever knob and a pyramid shape were generated.

Prediction of Curl Distortion using Classical Lamination Theory in Stereolithography (SL 광조형 공정에서 고전적층이론을 적용한 곡률 변형 예측)

  • A curl distortion induced by shrinkage during stereolithography polymerization process is analyzed with the classical lamination theory. Test parts of different layer thickness and part thickness are manufactured and their deformations are measured with CMM. Curl distortion is generated by the differential shrinkage of the layers, where the total shrinkage includes the shrinkages due to solidification and the change of temperature. It is shown that the curl distortion increases exponentially with decreasing the total thickness of the part, whose smaller layer thickness induces larger curl distortion. It is verified that only a part of the total shrinkage plays a role in generating the curl distortion.

  • The capacity of the drilling process in Multi-Layer PCB fabrication can be affected by various process parameters determining material flows in the unit operations. The ratio of mass-lamination to pin lamination and the number of stacks as the most critical paramaters, among them, were chosen on the basis of exhaustive field evaluation to study their effects on the capacity of the process. The best alternative condition for maximum capacity of the process was selected by simulation of process.

  • In the lamination process of multi-layer ceramic modules, the occurrence of delamination comes into repeatedly. To completely improve the lamination process of LTCC sheets, a binder film was introduced between the layers. The binder film did not originate the delamination until the thickness under $40{\mu}m$. After lamination, the thickness of the binder film was determined by the infilteraion of binder by the pressure, and after the bake-out, was dependent on the decomposition of binder resin. Any detectable defect was not observed in the multilayer structure with Ag inner electrodes.

Thin-bedded, Fine-grained Lacustrine Turbidite Facies on the Northern Coast of Jindo and the Adjacent Area: Density underflow-induced, Ash-rich Turbidity Current Deposits

  • The sedimentary succession on the northern coast of Jindo and the adjacent area comprises the thinly bedded, fine-grained deposits of an epiclastic sandstone, siltstone, black shale/mudstone, and cherty mudstone (ca. 200m in vertical thickness), which are interpreted as the finely stratified turbidites mainly by density underflow-induced currents. Most deposits can be divided into eight facies: thin-bedded, ash-rich massive sandstone layer (mS), graded and laminated mudstone layer (glM), graded mudstone layer with ripple lamination (rM), laminated and graded siltstone layer (lgZ), finely laminated black shale layer (IBS), structureless mudstone layer (mM), thin-bedded cherty mudstone layer (lCM), and contorted and laminated mudstone layer (dlM), The thin-bedded, ash-rich sandstone facies is interpreted to be deposited from high-density turbid underflows during a relatively large flooding. Most thinly bedded mudstone facies would be deposited from low-density turbid underflows (turbidity currents) with some different hydrodynamic condition and sediment concentration during the high discharge of river water. Whereas the structureless mudstone facies may result from raining down of suspended sediment intermittently supplied by overflows and interflows. From the entire succession, graded and laminated mudstone layers interbedded with thin-bedded, ash-rich massive sandstone are dominant in the lower part of the succession, and graded mudstone layers with ripple lamination ripple lamination occur mainly in the middle part of it. On the other hand, iaminated/raded siltstone and contorted/laminated mudstone layers prevail in the upper part. The transition of facies association is suggestive of the continuous change of main depositional setting from basin plain to lower slope, which could be due to the movement of depocenter by the increase of sediment supply (volcanic activity).

Enhanced Adhesion and Transmittance Uniformity in Laminated Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystal Films

  • We propose a two-step UV irradiation procedure to fabricate polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) films by lamination. During the first UV treatment, before lamination, the UV-curable monomers coated on one film substrate are solidified through photo-polymerization as the phase separation between the liquid crystals and the monomers. Introducing an adhesion-enhancement layer on the other plastic substrate and controlling the UV irradiation conditions ensure that UV-induced cross-linkable functional groups remain on the surfaces of the photo-polymerized layers. Thereby, the adhesion stability between the top and bottom films is much improved during a second (post-lamination) UV treatment by further UV-induced cross-linking at the interface. Because the adhesion-enhancement and PDLC layers prepared by the bar-coating process are solidified before lamination, the PDLC droplet distribution and the cell gap between the two plastic substrates remain uniform under the lamination pressure. This ensures that the voltage-controlled light transmittance is uniform across the entire sample.

  • A novel rapid prototyping (RP) process, an automated transfer type variable lamination manufacturing process (Automated VLM-ST) has been developed. In Automated VLM-ST, a vacuum chuck and linear moving system transfer the plate type material with two pilot holes to the rotation stage. A four-axis synchronized hotwire cutter cuts the material twice to generate Automated Unit Shape Layer (AUSL) with the desired width, side slopes, length, and two reference shapes in accordance with CAD data. Each AUSL is stacked on the stacking plate with two pilot pins using the pilot holes in AUSL and the pilot pins. Subsequently, adhesive is supplied to the top surface of the stacked AUSL by a bonding roller and pressure is simultaneously applied to the bottom surface of the stacked AUSL. Finally, three-dimensional shapes are rapidly fabricated. This paper describes the procedure for generating the cutting path data (AUSL data) f3r automated VLM-ST. The method for the generation of the Automated Unit Shape Layer (AUSL) in Automated VLM-ST was practically applied and fabricated for a various shapes.
