가열되는 회전원판으로의 입자 침착 해석 (Analysis on Particle Deposition on a Heated Rotating Disk)

  • Numerical analysis was conducted to characterize particle deposition on a horizontal rotating disk with thermophorectic effect under laminar flow field. The particle transport mechanisms considered were convection, Brownian diffusion, gravitational settling and thermophoresis. The averaged particle deposition velocities and their radial distributions for the upper surface of the disk were calculated from the particle concentration equation in a Eulerian frame of reference for rotating speeds of 0∼1000rpm and temperature differences of 0∼5K. It was observed from the numerical results that the rotation effect of disk increased the averaged deposition velocities, and enhanced the uniformity of local deposition velocities on the upper surface compared with those of the disk at rest. It was also shown that the heating of the disk with ΔT=5K decreased deposition velocity over a fairly broad range of particle sizes. Finally, an approximate deposition velocity model for the rotating disk was suggested. The comparison of the present numerical results with the results of the approximate model and the available experimental results showed relatively good agreement between them.

  • 장거리 극초음속 비행체에 적용 가능한 유일한 냉각방안으로 알려져 있는 흡열연료 적용기술을 개발하기 위하여 흡열반응에 의해 분해된 연료의 분사 및 연소특성에 대한 연구사례를 살펴보았다. 흡열반응을 거친 연료가 연소실에 분사될 때 처해지는 초임계 상태의 분사 특성, 초임계 연료가 초음속 유동장에 분사될 때의 공기혼합 특성 등에 관한 연구사례를 살펴보았고, 연소특성으로서 점화지연시간 및 화염전파 속도에 미치는 영향, 초음속 연소실에서 연소될 때의 연소효율 상승 연구사례 등을 살펴보았다. 국내에서 수행된 흡열연료 관련 연구동향을 살펴보았다.

Accessory penis: A rare method of peno-urethral separation of sexual function and voiding following successful complex hypospadias reconstruction with a free ileum flap

  • Hypospadias is a congenital malformation of the male genitalia. The reconstructive objectives are to obtain voiding with laminar flow and satisfactory sexual function. Several urethroplasty techniques have been described, but for perineal or revisional cases no single technique has shown robust success. In this study, we describe the expanded use of intestinal flaps for urethral reconstruction and report a peculiar request from a patient to undergo peno-urethral separation after successful hypospadias repair with a free ileum flap. A 51-year-old male patient with perineal hypospadias underwent several urethral reconstructive procedures with poor outcomes. A free ileum flap was attempted as a substitute for the urethra. Following successful reconstruction, separation of the neo-urethra (ileum) from the penile body was performed to address the patient's sexual expectations. A free ileum flap proved to be a reliable urethral substitute in perineal hypospadias reconstruction, with a successful outcome. The peno-urethral separation with the creation of an "accessory penis," however peculiar, optimized the results in terms of both sexual and urinary function. Anatomical restoration of the urethra and patient-reported expectations are the key to successful hypospadias reconstructive procedures. Sexual function outcomes and the patient's perception of success should not be underestimated, even when urinary function has been restored.

Cryopreservation of Hevea brasiliensis zygotic embryos by vitrification and encapsulation-dehydration

  • The mature zygotic embryos of the Hevea brasiliensis were cryopreserved through the use of the vitrification and encapsulation/dehydration techniques. In all the experiments, the zygotic embryos were pre-cultured for three days in the MS medium supplemented with 0.3 M sucrose before they were used for the cryopreservation technique. In the vitrification procedure, the effect of the plant vitrification solutions (PVS2 and PVS3) and exposure time were studied. The highest survival rate (88.87%) and regrowth (66.33%) were achieved when the precultured zygotic embryos were incubated in a loading solution for 20 minutes at $0^{\circ}C$. They were subsequently exposed to PVS2 for 120 minutes at $0^{\circ}C$ and plunged directly into liquid nitrogen. Cryopreservation by the encapsulation-dehydration method was successfully done by leaving the encapsulated zygotic embryos in a laminar flow for 4 hours prior to plunging into a LN. The survival rate and regrowth of the encapsulated zygotic embryos were 37.50% and 27.98%, respectively. The cryopreserved zygotic embryos were able to develop into whole plants.

퇴비화 첨가재인 톱밥의 공기투과성에 미치는 영향요인 및 기여도 평가에 관한 연구 (Estimation on Affecting Factors and Contribution Rate for Air Permeability of Sawdust as Bulking Agent on Composting)

  • 본 연구에서는 퇴비화공정에서 첨가재로 주로 사용되는 톱밥을 대상으로 톱밥 내 공기투과성 변화에 영향을 미치고 있는 요인별 특성과 총차감압력에 미치는 기여도를 평가하였다. 공기투과성 변화에의 영향요소로서 층류속도(v), 난류속도($v^2$), 수분함량(MC*v), 공기공극률(AFP*v), 입자크기(SIZE*v)를 선정하여 차감압력 산정을 위한 회귀식을 제시하였다. 차감압력에의 증가요인은 층류속도(v)와 입자크기(SIZE*v)이며, 감소요인은 난류속도($v^2$), 수분함량(MC*v), 공기공극률(AFP*v)이다. 공기유입속도를 높이면 총차감압력이 지속적으로 증가하였으며, 이러한 총차감압력 변화에 영향을 크게 미치는 증가요인은 입자크기(SIZE*v)이며, 감소요인은 공기공극률(AFP*v)이다. 또한 총차감압력에의 증가기여도는 낮은 유속에서는 층류속도(v)가 높은 유속에서는 입자크기(SIZE*v)의 기여도가 높았으며, 감소기여도는 공기공극률(AFP*v)이 가장 높았다. 반면에 수분함량 변화에 따른 총차감압력 변화는 그리 크지 않았다. 따라서 총차감압력은 증가요인보다는 감소요인인 공기공극률(AFP*v)과 수분함량(MC*v)에 의하여 영향을 받고 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 연구결과로서, 효율적 퇴비화공정을 위하여는 적정 수분함량 유지와 함께 공기공극률이 높은 첨가재를 선정하여 공기투과성을 향상시키는 방법이 적절할 것이다.

알루미늄 피라미드 트러스 심재 샌드위치의 열유동 특성에 관한 수치해석 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Aluminum Pyramidal Truss Core Sandwich)

  • 본 연구에서는 전산유체역학 해석을 이용하여 알루미늄 피라미드 트러스 심재 샌드위치의 열유동 특성을 분석하였다. 규칙적 다공질 금속인 피라미드 트러스 코어를 샌드위치 구조물에 채용할 경우 공기 매질이 자유롭게 유입, 유출될 수 있는 개방형 코어인 점을 고려하여 하중을 지지할 수 있는 구조성능과 함께 방열체로서 다기능성을 구현할 수 있는 구조가 된다. 따라서, 유입되는 공기의 속도변화, 설계변수인 트러스각에 따른 압력강하와 열전달 메카니즘을 확인하기 위해 ANSYS/Fluent를 이용하여 수치해석을 실시하였다. 해석모델에 사용된 샌드위치 패널은 알루미늄으로 이루어져 있으며, 샌드위치 패널의 위 면재와 아래 면재 사이에는 15개의 피라미드 트러스 유닛셀이 반복되고 있다. 폭 방향으로는 무한히 넓은 유닛셀을 모사하기 위해 대칭조건을 지정하였으며, 입구에는 균일한 속도분포를 경계조건으로 입력하였다. 해석결과 입구부와 첫 유닛셀까지의 구간에서 입구영향이 관찰되었으며, 입구영향을 배제하고 마찰계수와 누셀수를 분석하였다. 공기의 속도가 증가할수록 마찰계수는 감소하였으며, 누셀수는 증가하는 경향을 보인다. 한편, V=1m/s에서 5m/s에서의 마찰계수와 누셀수 변화가 확연하였으며, 이는 층류에서 난류로 유동패턴이 변하기 때문에 거시적으로 열전도보다 대류열전달의 비중이 커졌기 때문이다. 또한, 설계변수인 트러스각에 대해서는 의미가 있을 정도의 마찰계수와 누셀수의 변화는 관찰되지 않았다. 따라서, 트러스각이 강도, 강성 등 구조성능에 민감한 점을 감안하면 다기능성을 염두에 둔 알루미늄 피라미드트러스 심재 설계 시 설계변수의 변화는 구조성능에 더 민감할 것으로 판단된다.

An Analytic Study on Laminar Film Condensation along the Interior Surface of a Cave-Shaped Cavity of a Flat Plate Heat Pipe

  • An analytic approach has been employed to study condensate film thickness distribution inside cave-shaped cavity of a flat plate heat pipe. The results indicate that the condensate film thickness largely depends on mass flow rate and local velocity of condensate. The increasing rate of condensate film for circular region reveals about 50% higher value than that of vertical region. The physical properties of working fluid affect significantly the condensate film thickness, such as the condensate film thickness for the case of FC-40 are 5 times larger than that of water. In comparison with condensation on a vertical wall, the average heat transfer coefficient in the cave-shaped cavity presented 10∼15% lower values due to the fact that the average film thickness formed inside the cave-shaped cavity was larger than that of the vertical wall with an equivalent flow length. A correlation formula which is based on the condensate film analysis for the cave-shaped cavity to predict average heat transfer coefficient is presented. Also, the critical minimum fill charge ratio of working fluid based on condensate film analysis has been predicted, and the minimum fill charge ratios for FC-40 and water are about Ψ$\_$crit/=3∼7%, Ψ$\_$crit/=0.5∼1.3% respectively, in the range of heat flux q"=5∼90kW/㎡.

성토재 아래의 연약지반에 설치된 연직배수재의 수치모델링 (Numerical Modelling of Vertical Drains Installed in Soft Deposit under Embankment)

  • 배수재가 설치된 연약지반의 현장거동은 3차원적인 특성을 나타낸다. 그러므로 보다 효율적인 2차원 평면변형률 수치모델을 이용하여 적절하게 해석하기 위해서는 현장지반의 3차원적인 흐름특성을 평면변형률 모델의 층류흐름으로 전환할 필요성이 있다. 본 논문에서는 배수재가 설치된 연약지반의 3차원적인 거동특성을 고려하기 위하여 등가의 효과적인 모델방법이 유한요소법에 적용되었다. 2차원 등가모델은 등가투수계수와 배수재의 강성토를 고려한 등가폭을 가진다. 제안된 등가모델을 검증하기 위하여 ABAQUS 프로그램을 이용한 3차원 압밀해석을 수행하였으며, 3차원 해석결과와 2차원 해석결과를 비교하였다. 제안된 등가모델을 적용한 2차원 평면변형률 수치해석방법은 현장지반의 3차원적인 거동특성을 비교적 정확히 예측할 수 있다.

슬롯버너에서 농도차이에 따른 예혼합화염과 삼지화염의 거동 (Behaviors of Premixed Flames and Triple Flames with its Concentration Difference in a Slot Burner)

  • We have presented characteristics of a transitional behavior from a premixed flame to a triple flame in a lifted flame according to the change of equivalence ratio. The experimental apparatus consisted of a slot burner and a contraction nozzle for a lifted flame. As concentration difference of the both side of slot burner increases, the shape of flame changed from a premixed flame to a triple flame, and the liftoff height is decreased to the minimum value and then increase again. Around this minimum point, it is confirmed a transition regime from premixed flame to triple flame. Consequently, the experimental results of the liftoff height, flame curvature and luminescence intensity showed that the stabilized laminar lifted flame regime is categorized by regimes of premixed flame, triple flame and critical flame. In the visualization experiment of smoke wire, the flow divergence and redirection reappeared in premixed flame as well as triple flame. Thus we cannot express the flame front of lifted flame has a behavior of triple flame with only flow divergence and redirection. To differentiate triple flame and premixed flame, ${\Phi}$ value of partially premixed fraction is employed. The partially premixed fraction ${\Phi}$ was constant in premixed flame. In critical flame small gradient appears over the whole regime. In triple flame, typical diffusion flame shape is obtained as parabolic distribution type due to diffusion flame trailing.

COMBUSTION CHARACTERISTICS OF HOMOGENEOUS CHARGED METHANE-AIR MIXTURE IN A CONSTANT VOLUME COMBUSTION CHAMBER

  • A cylindrical constant volume combustion chamber was used to investigate the flow characteristics at the spark electrode gap and the combustion characteristics of a homogeneous charged methane-air mixture under various overall charge pressures, excess air ratios and ignition times. The flow characteristics, including the mean velocity and turbulence intensity, were analyzed with a hot wire anemometer. Combustion pressure development measured by piezoelectric pressure transducer, a flame propagation image acquired by ICCD camera and exhaust emissions measured by 2-valve gas chromatography were used to investigate effects of initial pressures, excess air ratios and ignition times on the combustion characteristics. It was found that the mean velocity and turbulence intensity had the maximum value around 200-300 ms and then decreased gradually to a near-zero value after 3000 ms and that the combustion duration was shorten and the flame speed and laminar burning velocity had the highest value under the condition of an excess air ratio of 1.1, an overall charge pressure of 0.15 MPa and an ignition time of 300 ms in the present study. The $CO_2$ concentration was proportional to the ignition time and overall charge pressure, the $CO_2$ concentration was proportional to the excess air ratio, and the UHC concentration was inversely proportional to the ignition time and overall charge pressure.
