This study aimed to investigate the effects of shyness of 3 to 5-year-olds and the teacher-child relationship on peer play behaviors. For this purpose, a survey was conducted targeting 33 teachers working with 277 three to five-year-olds at child care centers located in Chungbuk, Korea. SPSS 19.0 was used to implement exploratory analyses and hierarchical regression analysis. It was found that children with low sociability and thoes with close relationships with teachers indicated the least play disruption. Children whose assertiveness and sociability were low and whose relationships with teachers were close were likely to do the most play interaction. However, regardless of the level of the lack of assertiveness and of the lack of sociability, children with close relationships with teachers had a higher level of play interaction. Children with a higher level of lack of sociability and in conflict relationships with teachers had a higher level of play disconnection. Findings of this study highlight the importance of considering the interplay of children's shyness and teacher-child relationships in the development of peer play behaviors.
The purpose of this study is to find out specific ways to invigorate the employment of the elderly. To achieve this goal, attitude and information about elderly employment were required, and the groups divided based on them were found. The results of the research are as follows: 1. Attitudes toward employment of the elderly was considerably positive. Among the attitudes, the attitude toward employment-support was the most positive, and the attitude toward employment-motive was relatively less positive. 2. The extent the elderly possessed information about employment was comparatively limited, and quite a low score was shown in knowledge of employment-information of the elderly, which means the elderly are not exposed to the ways to get employed. 3. The groups were divided in four type: passive-stagnation, positive-adjustment, lack of information-work oriented, retirement oriented. Of the employed, the positive-adjustment were the most and the passive-stagnation were the least, while the lack of information-work oriented were the most and the retirement oriented were the least of the unemployed. The result that the lack of information-work oriented were the most of the unemployed shows the choice of unemployment was not an intended one.
This is a basic study to improve air quality of school classrooms in winter time. The purposes are to check indoor thermal and air environment in school classrooms during winter and to analyze influencing factors on indoor environment. The measurements of students' physical elements with questionnaire surveys were carried out in a total of 6 classrooms. As a result, this research shows that the temperature of one classroom was below indoor thermal standard level, three classrooms had lack of heat, and two classrooms are heated much, which induce relatively low humidity. All of 6 classrooms had lack of ventilation, being high level of $CO_2$ concentration and 2 classrooms are in condition of high PM10 concentration. The majority of students(76%) answered that the cause of their 'heated space syndrome' is because of the lack of ventilation. Students' opening windows for ventilations is hardly carried out at normal times, except that indoor temperature is over standard. That is, we can suggest one of solutions, which is to enable students to operate heating and ventilating system by themselves according to students' physical condition.
Purpose - Nowadays financial technology is crucial for each organization to facilitate business transactions and make them easier. This paper was conducted with the purpose of determining the effect of fintech including services e-payment, bills e-payment, ways of payment and bank accounts with e-government on facilitating e-government services in terms of availability, accessibility, efficiency and responsiveness. Research design, data, and methodology - The problem of this paper is summarized in the lack of studies in this subject. So, a survey was applied on 400 respondents in Egypt to investigate the impact of fintech on facilitating e-government services, in order to determine which fintech item can affect any of facilitating services dimensions. Results - The results revealed that bank accounts with e-government doesn't affect any of facilitating services dimension, while each of the remain items has an effect on some dimensions and does not has effect on others. Conclusions - Data analysis revealed that the most obstacles that face respondents resulted in the weakness of internet networks, lack of efficient employees in e-government portal and lack of system effectiveness. In general, it clears that fintech implementation affect the dimensions of facilitating e-government services, however not all fintech implementation components have the same effect on the dimensions.
Purpose - The study investigates the obstacles faced by small business owners (SBOs) in accessing finance in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality. The study aims to identify the causes of inaccessibility to finance for SBOs, investigate the role of government agencies in supporting SBOs, assess the extent to which banks support SMMEs, and suggest solutions to ease the challenge of inaccessibility of finance. Research design, data, methodology -We used a triangulation research design, wherein SMME owners and managers in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality were the target population. We used simple random sampling techniques to select respondents, and conducted in-depth interviews to collect qualitative data. Results - We analyzed quantitative data using descriptive statistics, Chi-square tests, and factor analysis. The qualitative data was analyzed using content analysis. The study identifies and discusses the obstacles in accessing finance; the main among which are the lack of collateral security, poor business plans, lack of knowledge, and lack of financial deposit. Conclusions -We urge the banks, government, and government agencies to support the SMME sector, for it remains the economic engine of many African countries and helps in reducing the impact of socio-economic challenges, like unemployment and poverty.
Purpose: It is necessary to look at the reasons why the Korean government has failed in boosting mom and pops, even though many aid programs for independent retailers have been introduced. Furthermore, this research will provide policy makers and practitioners with new insight to improve the performance of government policies. Research design: the researcher has had an interview with the 26 practitioners to gather the right information. Furthermore, interview results have been categorized into the government-related issues, support programs and shop owner-related issues, from a practitioner's perspectives. Results: The researcher found that the confusion of governmental support organization, the lack of retail marketing experts, frequent job rotation, the lack of cooperation between bureaucrats and associations, concerned about the governmental-related issues, are failure reasons. In terms of support program issues, the research found the following reasons: no blueprint, the lack of retail experts, relevance to budget scale, and the complexity of budget implementation. Associated with shop owner-related issues, the author found that the causes of failure are closely related to aging shopkeepers, the absence of a successor and increasing dependence on a government. Conclusions: The author proposes that a government has to rebuild existing support programs for small shop owners.
The purpose of this study was to estimate the sites providing accurate and useful informations to the public by monitoring food and nutrition informations distributed through the internet quantitatively about 13 items of 7 necessary requisites. Total of 457 internet sites on the searching engines of Yahoo, Empas, Nate, Naver and Daum were monitored by 10 panels from May, 2004 to October. Thirty eight % of the sites got 7 & 8 total of 14 points and total sites showed a normal distribution. From the estimation of meta data, individual sites(5.19) were operated insufficiently compared with the commercial sites(6.10) and institutional sites(6.60) (p<0.000). According to administrators, sites were evaluated in the order of research institute> government organization> academic association> pharmaceutical company, club, food company, university> hospital> individual (p<0.000). While low-ranked sites were lack of authority because they didn't show the information provider and source, high-ranked ones lack of sustainable management(updating informations) and security. From this study, we suggest that 1) theme, contents and design have to prepared with variety to suit the need of target clients instead of that of site operator; 2) source and origin of information have to be provided; 3) informations have to be updated often and site to be managed sustainably.
Objective: To investigate the association between the gene polymorphisms of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and digestive system cancer risk. Method: A search was performed in Pubmed, Medline, ISI Web of Science and Chinese Biomedical (CBM) databases, covering all studies until Sep 1st, 2013. Statistical analysis was performed by using Revman5.2 and STATA 12.0. Results: A total of 15 case-control studies comprising 2,390 digestive system cancer patients and 9,706 controls were identified. No significant association was found between the I/D polymorphism and digestive cancer risk (OR=0.93, 95%CI = (0.75, 1.16), P=0.53 for DD+DI vs. II). In the subgroup analysis by ethnicity and cancer type, no significant associations were found for the comparison of DD+DI vs. II. Results from other comparative genetic models also indicated a lack of associations between this polymorphism and digestive system cancer risks. Conclusions: This meta-analysis suggested that the ACE D/I polymorphism might not contribute to the risk of digestive system cancer.
