Chromosome Analysis System based on Knowledge Base for CAI (지식 베이스를 이용한 교육용 염색체 분석 시스템)

  • The task for chromosome analysis and diagnosis by experienced cytogenetists are being concerned as repetitive, time consuming job and expensive. FOr that reason, chromosome analysis system based on knowledge base for CAI had been established to be able to analyze chromosomes and obtain necessary advises from the knowledge base instead of human experts. That s to say, knowledge base by IF THEN production rule was implemented to a knowledge domain with normal and abnormal chromosomes, and then the inference results by knowledge base could enter the inference data into the database. Experimental data were composed of normal chromosome of 2,736 patients'cases and abnormal chromosomes of 259 patients'cases that have been obtained from GTG-banding metaphase peripheral blood and amniotic fluid samples. The complete system provides variously morphological information by analysis of normal or abnormal chromosomes and it also has the advantage of being able to consult with user on chromosome analysis and diagnosis.

Simulator Output Knowledge Analysis Using Neural network Approach : A Broadand Network Desing Example

  • Simulation output knowledge analysis is one of problem-solving and/or knowledge adquistion process by investgating the system behavior under study through simulation . This paper describes an approach to simulation outputknowldege analysis using fuzzy neural network model. A fuzzy neral network model is designed with fuzzy setsand membership functions for variables of simulation model. The relationship between input parameters and output performances of simulation model is captured as system behavior knowlege in a fuzzy neural networkmodel by training examples form simulation exepreiments. Backpropagation learning algorithms is used to encode the knowledge. The knowledge is utilized to solve problem through simulation such as system performance prodiction and goal-directed analysis. For explicit knowledge acquisition, production rules are extracted from the implicit neural network knowledge. These rules may assit in explaining the simulation results and providing knowledge base for an expert system. This approach thus enablesboth symbolic and numeric reasoning to solve problem througth simulation . We applied this approach to the design problem of broadband communication network.

  • This paper deals with the results of development tools for knowldge base implementation on personal computers which is focused on university's student affairs as the education sector.Tje consultant expert system consists of the inference system which makes the object-oriented inference possible by using the present typical rule-based expert systems organized with inference engine,knowledge base,and user interface the user interface management system providing a variety of interfaces,the knowlege managment system for the efficient management and acquirement of knowledge which is independently constucted,and the object management system for the effective management of these systems. This system's design is the consultant expert system'C-I(Consultant-One),in which users can consult with expert at the use's various points of view and which can be operated on the easily accessible personal compuers. We implemented the Student Affairs Administration Consultation Expert System(SACES)'which constructed the knowledge base for three fields of university student affairs management such as timetable management,curriculum and grade points.

Knowledge-based Expert System for the Preliminary Ship Structural Design (선체 구조설계를 위한 지식 베이스 전문가 시스템)

  • The objective of this study is to develop knowledge-based system for the preliminary design and midship section design of bulk carrier and to enhance the applicability of knowledge engineering in the field of Naval Architecture. First, expert system shell called E.1 is developed in C language. E.1 supports backward-chaining, automatic iteration procedure and reiterative inference mechanism for efficient application of knowledge-based system in structural design. Knowledge representation in E.1 includes IF-THEN rules, 'facts'and 'tables'. Second, knowledge bases for the principal particulars and midship section design are developed by experimental formula, design standard and experiential knowlege. Third, hybrid system combined this knowledge-based system with the optimization program of midship section is developed. Finally, the simplified design method utilizing the regression analysis of the optimum results of stiffened plate is developed for facilitating the design process. Using this knowledge-based system, the design process and results for Bulk carrier and stiffened plates are discussed. It is concluded that knowledge-based system is efficient for preliminary design and midship section design of the ship. It is expected that the performance of the CAD system would be enhanced if the better knowledge-base is accumulated in the E.1 tool.
