Knowledge Base Associated with Autism Construction Using CRFs Learning

  • Knowledge base means a library stored in computer system providing useful information or appropriate solutions to specific area. Knowledge base associated with autism is the complex multidimensional information set related to the disease autism for its pathogenic factor and therapy. This paper focuses on the knowledge of biological molecular information extracted from massive biomedical texts with the aid of widespread used machine learning methods. Six classes of biological molecular information (such as protein, DNA, RNA, cell line, cell component, and cell type) are concerned and the probability statistics method, conditional random fields (CRFs), is utilized to discover these knowledges in this work. The knowledge base can help biologists to etiological analysis and pharmacists to drug development, which can at least answer four questions in question-answering (QA) system, i.e., which proteins are most related to the disease autism, which DNAs play important role to the development of autism, which cell types have the correlation to autism and which cell components participate the process to autism. 질의 완화를 이용한 지능적인 질의 응답 시스템 (Intelligent Query Answering System using Query Relaxation)

  • 협력적 질의 응답은 질의와 데이터에 관한 지식을 이용해서 초기의 질의에 적절한 인접한 정보나 연관된 정보를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 제시된 질의에 대한 정확한 검색 결과를 보여주지 못하는 경우에 협력적 질의 응답을 지원하기 위하여 지능적인 질의 응답 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 지능적인 질의 응답 시스템은 하이브리드 지식베이스(Hybrid Knowledge Base)를 이용하여 질의 완화 과정을 수행한다. 질의 완화에 사용되는 하이브리드 지식베이스는 구조적인 접근을 위하여 시멘틱 리스트와 규칙 기반의 지식베이스로 구성된다. 또한, 본 논문은 하이브리드 지식베이스를 기반으로 초기의 질의어를 이용하여 질의 재형성을 하기 위하여 질의 완화 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • 본 연구는 인공지능의 한 응용분야인 전문가 시스팀중, 그의 핵심 영역인 지식베이스와 추론기제를 문헌정보검색을 위하여 개발하였다. 이는 어느 특정주제를 검색하고자 하는 이용자는 일반적으로 그 주제분야에 대한 선행지식이 부족할 것이다는 가정하에 선행지식이 부족한 이용자의 질의어를 시스팀에서 지적으로 처리하도록 지식베이스를 설계하어 결과적으로 정보검색의 효율을 향상시킴을 목적으로 한다. 또한 우리말 문헌정보의 주제어에서 주가 되는 복합명사의 특성을 구조적으로 분석하여 지식베이스에 포함시켰다.

  • This research presents distributed database and knowledge-base modeling approach for intelligent product design system. The product design information in this study is described by a collection of rules and design knowledge that are utilized according to the product development procedures. In this work, a network-based architecture has been developed to enable dispersed designers to simultaneously accomplish remote design tasks. A client/server communication diagram has also been proposed to facilitate consistent primary information modeling for multi-user access and reuse of designed results. An intelligent product design system has been studied with the concepts of distributed database and network-based architecture in order to support concurrent engineering design and automatic design part assembly. The system provides the capability of composing new designs from proper design elements stored in the database and knowledge-base. The distributed intelligent product design is applied to the design of an automobile part as an example.

  • In this paper,an algorithm is implemented to retrieve the control knowledge from the plant being controlled. And this knowledge is stored to the knowledge base and is continuously modified. A control system which realizes this algorithm generates control knowledge automatically and modifies the knowledge base, which was previously generated, in accordance with the experience of input-output relations. And this kind of system can manipulate knowledge by symbolic descriptions. So this system can be used to implement the heuristic procedure which was difficult to realize through conventional procedural computer languages or numerical techniques.

  • The objectives of this paper are to apply fuzzy cognitive map (FCM)- related techniques to (1) extract causal knowledge from a specific problem-domain and (2) perform a series of causal analysis in complicated decision making area. We propose a set operation-based augmentation (SOBA) algorithm to combine multiple FCMs developed by multiple experts. Based on the SOBA knowledge acquisition algorithm, we can obtain a causal knowledge base fairly representing multiple experts' knowledge about a problem domain. The causal knowledge base built by SOBA algorithm can be described as a matrix form, guaranteeing mathematically compact operation compared with a production (if-then) knowledge base. We applied out method to stock market analysis problem whichis a typical of highly unstructured problems in OR/MS fields.

  • In this study, by using the natural language processing of the field of artificial intelligence, automated index was performed. And then, the Natural Language Processing Interface for knowledge representation(NALPI) has been developed. Furthermore, the DEsign KnOwledge DataBase(DEKODB) has been also developed, which is designed to interlock the knowledge base. The DEKODB processes both the documented design-data, like a concrete standard specification, and the design knowledge from an expert. The DEKODB is also simulates the design space of structures accordance with the production rule, and thus it is determined that DEKODB can be used as a engine to retrieve new knowledge and to implement knowledge base that is necessary to the development of automatic design system. The application field of the system, which has been developed in this study, can be expanded by supplement of the design knowledge at DEKODB and developing dictionaries for foreign languages. Furthermore, the perfect automation at the data accumulation and development of the automatic rule generator should benefit the unified design automation.

  • In this paper, a framework for implementing UFIS (Unified Fuzzy rule-based knowledge Inference System) is presented. First, fuzzy clustering and fuzzy rules deal with the presence of the knowledge in DB (DataBase) and its value is presented with a value between 0 and 1. Second, RDB (Relational DB) and SQL queries provide more flexible functionality fur knowledge management than the conventional non-fuzzy knowledge management systems. Therefore, the obtained fuzzy rules offer the user additional information to be added to the query with the purpose of guiding the search and improving the retrieval in knowledge base and/ or rule base. The framework can be used as DM (Data Mining) and ES (Expert Systems) development and easily integrated with conventional KMS (Knowledge Management Systems) and ES.

  • 숙련된 세포유전학자가 수행하는 염색체 분석과 진단 작업은 반복적이고, 시간 소비적이며, 많은 비용이 요구된다. 이러한 이유로, 전문가를 대신하여 염색체 분석에 필요한 정보를 얻을 수 있도록 웹을 이용한 염색체 지식 베이스 기반 지능형 에이전트를 개발하였다. 즉, IF-THEH 생성규칙으로 이루어진 지식 베이스에서 정상 염색체와 비정상 염색체를 하나의 지식 영역으로 구성하고, 추론을 통해 염색체를 분석하고 진단결과를 제시하였다. 연구에 사용한 데이터는 GTG 방법으로 분염된 중기 말초혈액과 양수샘플을 핵형분류하여 얻은 2,736환자 증례의 정상 염색체와 259환자 증례의 비정상 염색체들로 구성하였다. 구축된 염색체 지식 베이스 기반 인텔리전트 에이전트는 정상 염색체와 비정상 염색체의 분석을 통해 다양한 형태학적 정보를 제공하고, 사용자와 시스템간의 상호작용을 통하여 염색체 분석과 진단을 협의할 수 있는 장점들을 지닌다.

지식 추상화 계층의 구축과 관리 (Management of Knowledge Abstraction Hierarchy)

  • Cooperative query answering is a research effort to develop a fault-tolerant and intelligent database system using the semantic knowledge base constructed from the underlying database. Such knowledge base has two aspects of usage. One is supporting the cooperative query answering Process for providing both an exact answer and neighborhood information relevant to a query. The other is supporting ongoing maintenance of the knowledge base for accommodating the changes in the knowledge content and database usage purpose. Existing studies have mostly focused on the cooperative query answering process but paid little attention on the dynamic knowledge base maintenance. This paper proposes a multi-level knowledge representation framework called Knowledge Abstraction Hierarchy (KAH) that can not only support cooperative query answering but also permit dynamic knowledge maintenance. The KAH consists of two types of knowledge abstraction hierarchies. The value abstraction hierarchy is constructed by abstract values that are hierarchically derived from specific data values in the underlying database on the basis of generalization and specialization relationships. The domain abstraction hierarchy is built on the various domains of the data values and incorporates the classification relationship between super-domains and sub-domains. On the basis of the KAH, a knowledge abstraction database is constructed on the relational data model and accommodates diverse knowledge maintenance needs and flexibly facilitates cooperative query answering. In terms of the knowledge maintenance, database operations are discussed for the cases where either the internal contents for a given KAH change or the structures of the KAH itself change. In terms of cooperative query answering, database operations are discussed for both the generalization and specialization Processes, and the conceptual query handling. A prototype system has been implemented at KAIST that demonstrates the usefulness of KAH in ordinary database application systems.
