We studied the H/D exchange kinetics of pure and acid dopped water-ice film by using the techniques of reactive ions scattering (RIS) and low energy sputtering (LES) with low kinetic energy cesium ion beam (<35 eV). From RIS, neutral water isotopomers were detected in the form of cesium-molecule ion clusters, $CsX^+$ (X= $H_2O$, HDO, $D_2O$). Ionic species, like $H_3O^+$, $DH_2O^+$, $D_2HO^+$, $D_3O^+$, adsorbed on the surface were ejected via LES process. Those techniques allowed us to trace the isotopomeric populations of water-ice film. To show the catalytic effect of excess proton in the H/D exchange reaction, our study was conducted with two types of water-ice films. In film 1, about 0.5 BL of $H_2O$ was adsorbed on HCl (0.1 ML) dopped $D_2O$ (8 BL) film. In film 2, similar amount of $H_2O$ used in film 1 was adsorbed on pure $D_2O$ film. Kinetic data were obtained from each film type for 90-110 K (film 1) and 110-130 K (film 2) and fitted with numerically integrated lines. Through the Arrhenius plot of kinetic coefficient deduced from fitting of the H/D exchange reaction, the activation energy of film 1 and 2 were estimated to be $10{\pm}3kJmol^{-1}$ and $17{\pm}4kJmol^{-1}$. This activation barrier difference could be understood from detailed pictures of H/D exchange. In film 2, both the formation of ion pair, $H_3O^+$ and OH. and proton transfer were needed for the H/D exchange. However, in film 1, only proton transfer was necessary but ion pair formation was not, so this might reduce the activation energy.

In this study, the solution plasma process was utilized with the aim of degrading synthetic dyes in water at atmospheric pressure. The experiments were conducted in a batch-type reactor consisting of a symmetric wire-wire electrode configuration with rhodamine B (RhB) as the target synthetic dye. The effects of the plasma treatment time and initial dye concentration on the RhB degradation were investigated by monitoring the change in absorbance of RhB solutions. The RhB solutions turned lighter in color and finally colorless with prolonged plasma treatment time, indicating the destruction of dye molecules. The RhB solutions were found to have degraded, following the first-order kinetic process. However, for high initial RhB concentrations, another kinetic process or factor seems to play a dominant role at the initial degradation stage. The fitted first-order rate constant decreased as the initial concentration increased. This result suggests that the degradation behavior and kinetic process of the RhB solution strongly depends on its initial concentration. The RhB degradation is considered to be due to a combination of factors, including the formation of chemically oxidative species, as well as the emission of intense UV radiation and high-energy electrons from the plasma. We believe that the solution plasma process may prove to be an effective and environment-friendly method for the degradation or remediation of synthetic dye in wastewater.
The reciprocating compressor is widely used in the industry field, because it has simple principle and high efficiency. In this work, in order to improve design of discharge passage line in hydrogen compression system Numerical analysis was conducted. General information about an internal gas flow is presented by numerical analysis approach. Relating with hydrogen compressing system, which have an important role in hydrogen energy utilization, this should be a useful tool to observe the flow quickly and clearly. Flow characteristic analysis, including velocity, pressure and turbulence kinetic energy distribution of hydrogen gas going out from the cylinder to discharge-path line are presented in this paper. Discharge-passage model is designed based on real model of hydrogen compressor. Pressure boundary conditions are applied considering the real condition of operating system. The result shows velocity, pressure and turbulent kinetic energy are not distributed uniformly along the passage of the Hydrogen system. Path line or particles tracks help to demonstrate flow characteristics inside the passage. The existence of vortices and flow direction can be precisely predicted. Based on this result, the design improvement might be done.

This paper proposes the development of a low frequency electronic hammer drive system that is used to prevent scaling or clogging in the hopper process. The electro-mechanical hammering driving method involves the generation of vibration and impact energy. The operation principles of the electromagnetic hammer were considered by parallel/series spring coefficient analysis and the amount of kinetic energy generated was calculated from the product of the equivalent spring constant, which is coupled with the E core and the gap of between the E core and I core. In addition, the Pulsation Driving algorithm was applied to the proposed electromagnetic hammer to obtain the maximizing kinetic energy. This algorithm was then implemented by a logical AND operation process and micro-controller (atmega128) built in functions with a timer interrupt and PWM generation function. The driving circuit of the electromagnetic hammer was designed using the H-bridge type IGBT circuit. The experimental test was performed by usefulness of the developed electromagnetic hammer systems with the acceleration measurement method. The experimental result showed that the proposed system has good kinetic energy generation performance and can be applied to the hopper process.
In Korea, the rockfall prevention fence is designed with 50kJ of rockfall kinetic energy in order to prevent damages such as falling rocks and landslides. In the case of rockfall kinetic energy, it is highly dependent on the shape of the slope on which it occurs. As a previous study, a fence performance evaluation was conducted for 100kJ rockfall impact energy using ETAG 27. However, previous studies have focused on newly installed rockfall prevention fences. In this study, a reinforcing materials was installed on the existing rockfall prevention fence through numerical analysis, and the structural performance of the high-strength rockfall prevention fence capable of defending against 120kJ of rockfall kinetic energy was evaluated.
In this paper, to identify the dynamic characteristics of antenna system, the antenna is divided into 4 components and those were analyzed with a conventional FEM package MSC/NASTRAN. Using a Component Mode Synthesis Method, dynamic characteristics of total system is also identified. The Coherence of each component to total system is evaluated by using strain and kinetic component to total system is evaluated by using strain and kinetic energy. The improving strategy of dynamic characteristics is suggested by changing mass and stiffness of large coherence components.
A kinetic study of the heterobimetallic dimer disruption of $PPN+^aCrMn(CO)_{10}$- by ligand L(L = CO, $PR_3$) is described. The rate was determined in several aprotic solvents. The results indicated that the reaction of $PPN+^aCrMn(CO)_{10}$- with $PR_3$ is of first order with respect to [$PPN+^aCrMn(CO)_{10}$-] and the heterolytic Cr-Mn bond dissociation energy is approximately 27 kcal/mol.
In this paper, we propose real time transient stability assessment and energy margin estimation using fuzzy approximate reasoning. The proposed method used rotor angle, kinetic energy and acceleration power of generators at clearing time as fuzzy input. In order to calculate energy margin in transient energy function (TEF), we obtained controlling unstable equilibrium point (UEP) using mode of disturbance procedure (MOD). The proposed algorithm is tested on 4-machine, 6-bus, 7-line power system to prove of effectiveness.

This paper deals with the transient energy method of transient stability analysis of multi-machine power system by improving the transfer conductance, the kinetic energy and the critical transient energy. The tranfer conductance is considered more correctly, the generators of system are seperated to two states (critical and the rest state)and the correction term of critical transient energy (to reference point) is added. This analysis is performed by digital computer simulation and the application of this method to two model systems has shown its superiority to other available methods.

Graphene quantum dots (GQDs), a new kind of carbon-based photo luminescent nanomaterial from chemically modified graphene oxide (CMGO) or chemically modified graphene (CMG), has attracted extensive research attention in the last few years due to its outstanding chemical, optical and electrical properties. To further extended its potential applications as optoelectronic devices, solar cells, bio and bio-sensors and so on, intensive research efforts have been devoted to the CMG. However, the CMG, a suspension of aqueous, have problematic since they are prone to agglomeration after drying a solvent. In this study, we synthesized the GQDs from graphite and deposited on silicon substrate by kinetic spray. The photo luminescent properties of deposited GQD films were analyzed and compared with initial GQDs suspension. In addition, its carbon properties were investigated with GQDs solution properties. The properties of deposited GQD films by kinetic spray were similar to that of the GQDs suspension in water. We could provide a pathway for silicon-based silicon based device applications. Finally, the well-adjusted GQD films with photo luminescence effects will show Energy-Down-Shift layer effects on silicon solar cells. The GQD layers deposited at nozzle scan speeds of 40, 30, 20, and 10 mm/s were evaluated after they were used to fabricate crystalline-silicon solar cells; the results indicate that GQDs play an important role in increasing the optical absorptivity of the cells. The short-circuit current density (Jsc) was enhanced by about 2.94 % (0.9 mA/cm2) at 30 mm/s. Compared to a reference device without a GQD energy-down-shift layer, the PCE of p-type silicon solar cells was improved by 2.7% (0.4 percentage points).
