  • Commercial liquid seeds are used for supplying active microbial flora to organic wastewater treatment plants of high feed-to-microorganism ratio and to maintain optimal microbial condition during unsteady state operation of the biological wastewater treatment plant. In addition to bacterial cells, the liquid weeds contain various additives for special purposes as well as organic substrates for energy supply. The additives give physical stability for the maintenance of microbial decomposition activity and ability to control the overgrowth of seed strains. In this work, the effects of addition of two kinds of typical substrate additives, poly aluminum chloride(PAC) and poly aluminum sulfate(PAS) on the consitutional total cell counts(CFU/ml) of four kinds of reorganization liquid seeds(RLS I, RLS II, RLS III and RLS IV) were studied experimentally. The addition of PAC and PAS gave negative effect on TCC constitution for the four seeds studied.

  • Two different kinds of subjects are discussed. One is " Enhanced color space for displays" and the other one is"An application for large format displays". Originally defined color space by NTSC has never been used widely for TVs and information displays as there have been no available display devices. LCD panels with new light sources for backlighting will provide much wider color space. LCD monitors which use these new panels will meet almost 100% with the color space defined by NTSC or Adobe. Now, It is the time to deploy wider color space defined by such as the NTSC or Adobe as the standard of LCD display panels. As the large format display devices with reasonable price have not been available till plasma panels became available, application of these panels as an information display in public space is a quite new experience for us. Various kinds of practical applications are observed and coming out. It will generate many and new types of businesses.

  • This study was conducted on ten golf courses in the vicinity of Yongin city to find out the kinds of algae and factors affecting algae development on creeping bentgrass greens. 1. Serious algae contamination was observed on almost of creeping bentgrass greens after and before rainy season. 2. There were ten kinds of algae occurred on creeping bentgrass greens, most of which were Oscillatoria spp. (bluegreen algae) 3. The fact that the same kind of algae inhabiting in the pond was observed on greens indicated that greens were easily contaminated by algae in case of greens watered with the pond. 4. This study showed that the main factor affecting algae contamination on greens was not high total nitrogen and phosphorus contents in the green soil, but pond watering.

  • In this paper, ECG based cardiac disease diagnosis models are developed. Conventionally, ECG monitoring equipments can only measure and store ECG signals and they always require medical doctor's diagnosis actions which are not desirable for continuous ambulatory monitoring and diagnosis healthcare systems. In this paper, two kinds of neural based self cardiac disease diagnosis engines are developed and tested for four kinds of diseases, sinus bradycardia, sinus tachycardia, left bundle branch block and right bundle branch block. For diagnosis engines, error backpropagation neural network (BP) and probabilistic neural network (PNN) were applied. Five signal features including heart rate, QRS interval, PR interval, QT interval, and T wave types were selected for diagnosis characteristics. To show the validity of proposed diagnosis engine, MIT-BIH database were used to test. Test results showed that BP based diagnosis engine has 71% of diagnosis accuracy which is superior to accuracy of PNN based diagnosis engine. However, PNN based diagnosis engine showed superior diagnosis accuracy for complex-disease diagnoses than BP based diagnosis engine.

  • In this paper the voltage controlled GIC is classified into two structures, one has the dependent port conductance and the other has the independent port conductance. Nine kinds of configuration for the WDF with two voltage controlled GICs have been found and the design method for WD-LPF has been shown as an example. Their hardware complexity and amplitude characteristics are nearly same as the existing ones, but amplitude error according to coefficient quantization is reduced to about 5% of the error in existing structures. As the result of the numerical analysis of the RPSD to check up the product quantization effect at the WDF output, four kinds of proposed structures have about 10dB less RPSD than existed ones for 6 bits .leq.B .leq.20 bits.

  • In this paper, we present mSROS(Micro-Scalable Realtime Operating System) to be applied commonly to the device controller systems in the HANbit ACE256 system. The device controller systems in HANbit ACE256 system are organized as many kinds of device controller. Applying modified PPOS(Peripheral Processor Operating System)which is an operating system for devices of the TDX-10 switching system to the firmwares for them, the inefficiency in development and maintenance exists inherently. To remove the inefficiency nd to improve the performqance of firmwares, we build a common operating system platform that including multi-tasking microkernel so that the firmwares among devices can acquire convenient development and cheap cost of maintencance. Especially, building a virtual machine as a development methodology, it is possible to remove dependency from the kernel so that any kinds of commercial real-time kernels can be used in mSROS as a basic kernel. The virtual machine in mSROS is compatible with the API of SROS(Scalable Realtime Operating System), PPOS, and CROS(Concurrent Realtime Operating System).

  • This paper represents the analysis and countermeasure about the causes of various trouble-examples by the noise in plants. These kinds of troubles came out the mis-operation and damage in various kinds of operating-facilities. The cause-analysis is following as: 1) the inappropriate-applications of protection devices installed to protect the noise. 2) the causes of voltage difference in separate ground systems. Therefore, To resolve the noise problems in plants, This paper proposed the two kind solutions to a problem. 1) The installation of appropriate noise protection devices and 2) The organization of equal-voltage by the common grounding system.

  • In order to discuss the mechanical properties of fiber reinforced composites with fly ash, lime, gypsum and polymer emulsion-Stylene Butadiene Rubber Latex (SBR) , experimental studies on FRC were carried out. The kinds of fiber used in FRC are PAN-dervied and Pitch-derived carbon fiver, alkali-resistance glass fiber. As a test results, the flexural strength and tougthness of fiber reinforced fly ash. lime.gypsum cement composites are remarkably increased by fiber contents ,but compressive strength of the composites are influenced by kinds of fiber more than by fiber contents. Also, addition of a polymer emulsion (SBR) to the composites decreased the bulk specific gravity, but compressive and flexural strengths, toughness of the composites are not influenced by it, are considerably improved by increasing fiber contents.

  • There are a large number of deteriorate mechanisms on the reinforced concrete structure and it acts complexly. In case of carbonation, it effected by environmental condition as well as properties of concrete. Most of all, water cement ratio and finishing materials have a great effect on the carbonation velocity. So, it is then aim of this study to suggest elementary data for the prediction of remaining life and the durability design by studying the relationship between carbonation velocity and permeability according to the waste cement ratio and kinds of finishing materials

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate clothing design preference (style, color, fabric print, kinds of fabrics) & satisfaction with the fit of ready-to-wear clothing for older Men. For this study, the questionnaires were administered to 650 older men in seoul from June to August, 1998. Employing a sample of 504 data were analyzed by mean, frequency and percent. With respect to clothing design preference, they prefer suit the style of outdoor clothing on going-out. On distinguish clothing into formal wear & casual wear, the color preference due to seasons has difference in spring clothing. Regarding the degree of fabric pattern preference, nonpattern single color fabric has occupied in formal wear, pattern in casual wear. Regarding the degree of fabric preference, they take a serious view of shape preservation in formal wear, utility (washing, sweat absorption) in causal wear. Suit has the lowest satisfaction in the fit of ready-to-wear clothing. Sleeve length the lowest in the degree of satisfaction for each part.
