경남 창원군 능동면 용원리 김밭의 수질에 대하여 (Investigation of Water Quality in the Laver Bed at Yongwon Ri, Changwon Gun During the Spring and Neap Tide in March 1970)

  • 창원군 능동면 용원리 김밭의 3월 대조 및 소조때의 수질을 조사하여 타지방 김밭과 비교하였다. 조수에 따른 각 성분량의 시간적 변동은 불규칙적이고 변동범위도 그다지 크지않다. pH는 8.2의 일정한 값이고 염소량은 19.15-19.33g/l 로서 0.18g/l의 변동범위를 갖는다. 영양염의 양도 조수와는 무관하게 변동한다. 아질산염 및 철은 검출되지 않았다. 지역별로는 대마도쪽이 입도쪽보다 염소량은 평균 0.05g/l가 놓고 규산염의 양도 비교적 많지만 인산염은 그다지 차가 없다. 질산염은 입도쪽이 약 2배 가량 많고 암모니아량도 입도쪽이 많다. 물때에 따라서는 염소량은 대조때가 평균 0.06g/l 높고, 영양염의 양은 소조때가 많아 특히 질산염은 약2배가 된다. 낙동강 하구 섬진강 하구 및 완도군 김밭들과 비교하면 염소량이 용원리가 가장 높고 영양염의 양도 일반적으로 적고 변동범위도 좁다. 특히 질산염의 양은 약 10분의 1밖에 되지 않는다.

Fenton-oxidation에 의한 MTBE(Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether)처리시의 영향인자에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Factors of Fenton-oxidation of MTBE in Water and Soil)

  • The treatment of soils and water contaminated with MTBE using the Fenton oxidation was investigated. The effects of dosage of $H_{2}O_{2}$, and Fe$^{2+}$ concentrations, and solution pH on transformation and mineralization in soil were evaluated. Generation of TBA and acetone following Fenton-oxidation of MTBE in water and generation of acetone following Fenton-oxidation of TBA were observed. Therefore TBA and acetone are degradation intermediates of MTBE. There was a large difference of treatment efficiency in Fenton oxidation of MTBE between soil and water system. This may be caused by the complex nature of soil, soil organic matter which can consumed OH $\cdot$ radicals, and interacting with inorganic-soil constituents. The pH of soil was observed to have a significant effect on the chemical oxidation efficient of MTBE in soil The data demonstrated that optimal pH range were pH 3~4 and around 6. The soil batch studies demonstrated that treatment efficiency of MTBE was enhanced by adding additional ferrous salts but Fenton-oxidation occurred in no additional iron which indicated that iron in soil can catalyze the Fenton-oxidation. The most effective parameter of Fentonoxidation was $H_{2}O_{2}$/Fe$^{2+}$ ratio which theocratical ratio is 0.5. The optimal range of this ratio was found to be 0.6~2.3. In evaluating effect of $H_{2}O_{2}$ dosage on treatment efficiency, the increase of $H_{2}O_{2}$ did not always lead to increase of decompositions of MTBE in soil. Fenton oxidation was effective in destroying MTBE in aqueous extracts of contaminated soil and water. Experimental data provided evidence that the Fenton oxidation can effectively remediate MTBE-contaminated water and soil.

Effect of additives on the hydrothermal synthesis of manganese ferrite nanoparticles

  • Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (Nps), composed of magnetite, $Fe_3O_4$, or maghemite, ${\gamma}-Fe_2O_3$, core and biocompatible polymer shell, such as dextran or chitozan, have recently found wide applications in magnetic resonance imaging, contrast enhancement and hyperthermia therapy. For different diagnostic and therapeutic applications, current attempt is focusing on the synthesis and biomedical applications of various ferrite Nps, such as $CoFe_2O_4$ and $MnFe_2O_4$, differing from iron oxide Nps in charge, surface chemistry and magnetic properties. This study is focused on the synthesis of manganese ferrite, $MnFe_2O_4$, Nps by most commonly used chemical way pursuing better control of their size, purity and magnetic properties. Co-precipitation syntheses were performed using aqueous alkaline solutions of Mn(II) and Fe(III) salts and NaOH within a wide pH range using various hydrothermal treatment regimes. Different additives, such as citric acid, cysteine, glicine, polyetylene glycol, triethanolamine, chitosan, etc., were tested on purpose to obtain good yield of pure phase and monodispersed Nps with average size of ${\leq}20nm$. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), $M\ddot{o}ssbauer$ spectroscopy down to cryogenic temperatures, magnetic measurements and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry were employed in this study.

황산철(III)용액에서 란타넘(III)의 선택적 침전 분리 (Separation of Lanthanum(III) by Selective Precipitation from Sulfuric Acid Solution Containing Iron(III))

  • 철(III)과 란타넘(III)이 혼합된 황산용액에서 황산나트륨에 의한 란타넘 복염의 침전 및 분리를 조사했다. 복염 침전에 영향을 줄 수 있는 여러 요인 중 황산나트륨 및 란타넘(III)의 농도, 반응온도 및 시간, 그리고 철(III) 농도에 대해 조사했다. 용액 중 Na+, SO42- 이온 및 란타넘(III) 농도가 높을수록 희토류 복염의 침전률이 증가했고, 반응온도가 100℃까지 증가함에 따라 란타넘 황산염 이온의 형성을 촉진해 희토류 복염의 침전률이 증가했다. 또한 반응시간이 증가할수록 철(III)의 침전률이 감소해 3시간 이후에는 거의 침전되지 않았고, 철(III) 농도는 복염 침전에 큰 영향을 미치지 않았다. 황산용액에 황산나트륨을 첨가하면 란타넘(III)을 선택적으로 침전시켜 철(III)과 분리할 수 있다.

선박화재 적용 단백포 소화약제의 안정제에 따른 소화특성 (Characteristics of Protein Foam Agent by Stabilizer on the Ship Fire Extinguishment)

  • Onboard fire extinguishing system is important to protect cargo and human lives and every oil tanker has foam type fire extinguishing system. Because of environmental problem, agent which contains materials such as Perfluorinated compounds are regulated and the development of the environmental friendly agent is required. The protein foam has less environmental pollution problem and has an excellent fire extinguish performance to oil fire. In the research, bivalency metal salts were added as stabilizer to increase fire resistance and stability of the foam. Ferrous sulfate, Iron chloride and Nickel chloride were used and to adjust to vessel, sea water was applied. As a stabilizer increased, the expansion ratio was raised. However 25% drainage time was decreased over 2.0 wt.% which is knowable that the foam brokes easily. The amount of generated foam was measured to check fluidity of foam and it appeared that when $FeSO_4$ 1.2 wt.% was added, the amount of generated foam reached large and also the 25% drainage time was high. To evaluate the fire extinguishing performance for oil fire, the small scale oil fire test was executed. When $FeSO_4$ 1.2 wt.% was added, fire extinguishing time was in its shortest which informs fluidity of foam and stability are important factors on fire extinguishing efficiency.

Selective Vapor-Phase Deposition of Conductive Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) Thin Films on Patterned FeCl3 Formed by Microcontact Printing

  • We demonstrate a selective vapor-phase deposition of conductive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) thin films on patterned $FeCl_3$. The PEDOT thin films were grown on various substrates by using the vapor-phase polymerization of ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) with $FeCl_3$ catalytic layers at 325 K. The selective deposition of the PEDOT thin films using vapor-phase polymerization was accomplished with patterned $FeCl_3$ layers as templates. Microcontact printing was done to prepare patterned $FeCl_3$ on polyethyleneterephthalate (PET) substrates. The selective vapor-phase deposition is based on the fact that the PEDOT thin films are selectively deposited only on the regions exposing $FeCl_3$ of the PET substrates, because the EDOT monomer can be polymerized only in the presence of oxidants, such as $FeCl_3$, Fe($CIO_4$), and iron(II) salts of organic acids/inorganic acids containing organic radicals.

  • [ ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ ] precursor was synthesised by sol-gel method using aluminum sulfate, sodium sulfate and sodium carbonate as law materials. The flaky ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ crystals were prepared by heating using precursor about $1,050^{\circ}C$. In this study, the effect of some transition-metal sulfate ($FeSO_4,\;SnSO_4,\;ZnSO_4$) addition have been investigated. When iron sulfate was added, it could see that act on impurities in crystal growth process. In case of tin sulfate, distribution of Platelets was very broad. When flaky ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ crystals were prepared zinc sulfate addition, thickness, size, and distribution of platelets was suited to industrial application. The average diameter of flaky ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ crystals was about 20 $\mu$m, and its thickness was about 0.3 $\mu$m. Increasing addition of zinc sulfate, thickness of ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$ platelet was decreased.

  • Mancozeb (MCZ), a polymeric complex of zinr and manganese salts of ethylene bisthiocarbamate, is widely used in agriculture as fungicidel, insecticides, and herbicides. MCZ can be occupationally and environmentally exposed to human and has been reported to have detrimental effects on the reproductive system, but the toxicity of MCZ on immune responses has not been systematically investigated. We investigated the effects of MCZ exposure on the activities of murine splenocytes through evaluation of splenocytes cellularity and INF-$\gamma$ synthesis. Splenocytes were examned ex vivo from mice orally treated with various doEes of MCZ for 1 day (acute exposure, 2,100, 5,000, 10,000 mg/kg) or ior 5 consecutive days per week for 4 weeks (subacute exposure,250, 1,000, 1,500 mg/kg/day) fellowed by culture for 2 days in the presence of Con A or PHA plus IL-2. Splenocytes Iron naive mice were cultured with various concentration of MCZ (50, 500, 1,000 ng/ml) in the presence of Con A or PHA plus IL-2 for 2 days in vitro. IFN-$\gamma$ production was decreased with the in vitro exposure to all concentration of MCZ. The spleen cellularity and IFN -$\gamma$ production by splenocytes from MCZ -acutely and - subacutely exposured mice were decreased in comparision with that oi control group.

죽염의 특성 분석과 항위궤양효과 (Characterization and Anti-Gastric Ulcer Activity of Bamboo Salt)

  • 죽염은 예로부터 위궤양 등의 소화기 질환에 민간요법으로 사용되어 왔으며 대나무 통속에 천일염을 넣고 소나무 장작불로 9번 구워서 만들어진다. 본 연구에서는 죽염의 특성분석시험과 항위궤양 시험 중 위산분비 억제도 시험을 실시하였다. 특성분석시험으로 ICP(Inductively Coupled Plasma) spectrometer, IC(Ion Chromatograph), XRD(X-ray Diffractrometer), 전자현미경을 이용하여 천일염과 죽염제품 A, B, C의 성분 및 구조분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 성분분석시험에서 죽염은 천일염에 비하여 칼륨, 규소, 철 및 인삼염의 농도가 증가하였으며 황산염은 감소되었음을 알 수 있었다. 죽염 중 물불용분에 포함된 화합물은 MgO가 가장 많았고, $SiO_2,\;Mg_2Si_O4\;및\;CaMgSiO_4$등도 확인되었다. 구조분석에서 죽염은 천일염에 비하여 대체로 표면이 매끄럽고 용융되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 죽염제품 A, B, C 중 A를 사용하여 위산분비에 미치는 영향을 측정하였다. SD계 랫드에 죽염, 천일염, 시약급 NaCl, 증류수를 1일 1회 28일 동안 각 0.2, 1.0, 2.0 g/kg으로 경구 투여하여 마지막 투여 후 24시간 절식시켜 Shay 유문 결찰법을 이용하여 채취한 위액의 총량, pH, 총위산도, 펩신활성도를 측정하였다. 실험결과 각 투여 용량군에서 용매 대조군에 비하여 통계학적으로 유의성 있는 차이를 나타내지 않았으며 죽염을 포함한 여러 가지 염투여는 위산분비에 영향을 주지 않았다. 따라서 28일간 죽염투여에 의한 위궤양 치료효과는 기대하기 어려울 것으로 사료된다.

인산화/증류/고화의 일련공정을 이용한 LiCl-KCl 공융염폐기물 내 희토류 핵종 분리 및 고화 (Separation and Solidification of Rare Earth Nuclides from LiCl-KCl Based Eutectic Waste Salts using a series of Phosphorylation/Distillation/Solidification Processes)

  • 사용후핵연료 파이로프로세싱에서 발생하는 LiCl-KCl 공융염폐기물의 부피를 최소화하고 최종적으로 잔류하는 폐기물을 비교적 낮은 온도에서 안정한 형태로 고화하고자 희토류 핵종 염화물을 함유한 LiCl-KCl 공융염을 이용하여 인산화/증류 및 세라믹 고화의 일련공정을 수행하였다. LiCl-KCl 공융염 내 희토류 염화물은 혼합인산화제($Li_3PO_4-K_3PO_4$)를 이용한 인산화 및 공융염 감압증류공정을 통하여 99% 이상을 인산화물 형태로 전환/분리할 수 있었고, 분리한 희토류 인산화물은 고화매질로서 LIP(Lead Iron Phosphate)를 이용하여 $1,050^{\circ}C$에서 균질하고 치밀한 형태의 고화체로 제조할 수 있었으며, 최종적으로 발생하는 방사성 폐기물 부피를 10% 이하로 감용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.
