  • Let ${\sigma}:k{\rightarrow}A{\otimes}B$ be a skew copairing on (A, B), where A and B are Hopf algebras of the same dimension n. Skew dual bases of A and B are introduced. If ${\sigma}$ is an invertible skew copairing then we can give a 2-cocycle bilinear form [${\sigma}$] on $A{\otimes}B$ and define a new Hopf algebra.

  • A well-defined relative degree, which is one of the basic assumptions in adaptive control or nonlinear synthesis problems, is addressed. It is shown that this is essentially a necessary condition for asymptotic tracking in discrete-time nonlinear systems. To show this, tracking problems are defined, and a local linear input-output behavior of a discrete-time system is introduced in relation to a well-defined relative degree. It is then shown that if a plant is invertible and accessible from the origin and a compensator solves the local asymptotic tracking problem, then the plant necessarily has a well-defined relative degree at the origin.

  • The Fuglede-Putnam Theorem is that if A and B are normal operators and X is an operator such that AX = XB, then $A^{\ast}= X. In this paper, we show that if A is $\omega$-hyponormal and $B^{\ast}$ is invertible $\omega$-hyponormal such that AX = XB for a Hilbert-Schmidt operator X, then $A^{\ast}X = XB^{\ast}$.

  • The incidence matrices corresponding to a nil-algebra of finite index % can be used to determine the nilpotency. We find the smallest positive integer n such that the sum of the incidence matrices Σ$\_$p/$\^$p/ is invertible. In this paper, we give a different proof of the case that the nil-algebra of index 2 has nilpotency less than or equal to 4.

  • In the category of the group theoretic methods using invertible discrete group transformation, we give a useful relation between Emden-Fowler equations and nonlinear heat equation. In this paper, by means of appropriate transformations of discrete group analysis, the nonlinear hate equation transformed into the class of the Emden-Fowler equations. This approach shows that, under the group action, the solution of reference equation can be transformed into the solution of the transformed equation.

  • We prove the stability of generalized Jensen's equations in a Hilbert module over a unital $C^*$-algebra. This is applied to show the stability of a projection, a unitary operator, a self-adjoint operator, a normal operator, and an invertible operator in a Hilbert module over a unital $C^*$-algebra.

  • In this paper we extend the Zemanek's characterization of the Browder spectrum for a commuting n-tuple operators in $L(H)$ and show that if $T = (T_1, \cdots, T_n)$ is Browder then there exists an n-tuple $K = (K_1, \cdots, K_n)$ of compact operators and an invertible commuting n-tuple $(S_1, \cdots, S_n)$ for which $T = S + K$ and $S_i K_j = K_j S_i$ for all $1 \leq i, j \leq n$.

  • We construct the sets of Boolean matrix pairs, which are naturally occurred at the extreme cases for the Boolean rank inequalities relative to the sums and difference of two Boolean matrices or compared between their Boolean ranks and their real ranks. For these sets, we consider the linear operators that preserve them. We characterize those linear operators as T(X) = PXQ or $T(X)\;=\;PX^tQ$ with appropriate invertible Boolean matrices P and Q.

  • The equation AX = BX implies $A^*X\;=\;B^X$ when A and B are normal (Fuglede-Putnam theorem). In this paper, the hypotheses on A and B can be relaxed by usin a Hilbert-Schmidt operator X: Let A be p-quasihyponormal and let $B^*$ be invertible p-quasihyponormal such that AX = XB for a Hilbert-Schmidt operator X and $|||A^*|^{1-p}||{\cdot}|||B^{-1}|^{1-p}||\;{\leq}\;1$.Then $A^*X\;=\;XB^*$.
