Geologic noise, especially located at shallow depth, can be a great obstacle in the interpretation of geophysical data. Thus, it is important to suppress geologic noise in order to accurately detect major anomalous bodies in the survey area. In the inversion of geophysical data, model parameters at shallow depth, which have small size and low contrast of physical property, can be regarded as one of geologic noise. The least-squares method with smoothness constraint has been widely used in the inversion of geophysical data. The method imposes a big penalty on the large model parameter, while a small penalty on the small model parameter. Therefore, it is not easy to suppress small anomalous boies. In this study, we developed a new inversion scheme which can effectively suppress geologic noise by imposing a big penalty on the slowly varying model parameter and a small penalty on the largely varying model parameter. We call the method MTE (main-target emphasizing) inversion. Applying the method to the inversion of 2.5D small loop EM data, we can ensure that it is effective in suppressing small anomalous boies and emphasizing major anomalous bodies in the survey area.

In gravity data correction process, mass effect of the upper part of base level is removed with Bouguer density. Usually, Bouguer density is estimated as a mean density in the field area. But, this may causes a serious problem when ore body is in the area. To overcome this problem, we tried to apply a new method mixing up mass corrections and inversion (3DGTI). 3-D Gravity Terrain Inversion (3DGTI) includes information of topography and distribution of Bouguer density. For this method does not remove the mass effect above base level, it is no longer useless to use Bouguer density. Numerical model tests have shown that the 3DGIT successfully retrieves the anomalous subsurface density distribution of both surface and deeper layers. Model tests shows that this method shows better results than those of conventional one, especially when main target is ore body. The inversion result well delineates the three-dimensional shape of the intruded granite body and basement.
The modern version of aircrafts is allowed to guarantee the superior handing qualities within the entire flight envelope by imposing the adequate stability and flying qualities on a target aircraft through the various techniques of flight control law design. Generally, the flight control law of the aircraft in service applies the various techniques of the verified control algorithm, such as dynamic inversion and eigenstructure assignment. The supersonic trainer employs the RSS(Relaxed Static Stability) concept in order to improve the aerodynamic performance in longitudinal axis and the longitudinal control laws employ the dynamic inversion with proportional-plus-integral control method. And, lateral-directional control laws employ the blended roll system of both beta-betadot feedback and simple roll rate feedback with proportional control method in order to guarantee aircraft stability. In this paper, the lateral-directional flight control law is designed by applying dynamic inversion control technique as a different method from the current supersonic trainer control technique, where the roll rate command system is designed at the lateral axis for the rapid response characteristics, and the sideslip command system is adopted at the directional axis for stability augmentation. The dynamic inversion of a simple 1st order model is applied. And this designed flight control law is confirmed to satisfy the requirement presented from the military specification. This study is expected to contribute to design the flight control law of KF-X(Korean Fighter eXperimental) which will proceed into the full-scale development in the near future.
We study the problem of search in which a server contains various multimedia contents and a user wishes to retrieve some multimedia items containing a specific without revealing to the server which items they are. Recently, Ogata and Kurosawa introduced a search scheme by using the notion of oblivious transfer. In their scheme, a user must inefficiently search and compare all the data stored in the seuer for each search query. In this paper, we propose an efficient oblivious search by using the oblivious transfer, in which a user needs not to search and compare all the data. We formally prove that the proposed scheme is secure under the hardness of RSA known target inversion problem.
Inversion result of geophysical data given as a block type was geostatistically simulated with borehole observation given as a point type and was applied to the rock classifying map. The geophysical data generally involved secondary information for the target material and were obtained for overall region. In contrast, borehole data provided direct information for the target material, but tended to be effective only for a narrow range of region and were dealt as a point type. Integrated simulation or kriging interpolation of these two different kinds of information required the covariance for point-point, point-block and block-block. Using the Bssim module included in SGeMS software, integrated result of geophysical data and borehole data were obtained. The results were then compared with the method of geostatistical inversion proposed by authors. Downscaling method used in this study showed relatively more flexible than the geostatistical inversion.

This paper presents a time-domain Gauss-Newton full-waveform inversion method for the material profile reconstruction in heterogeneous semi-infinite solid media. To implement the inverse problem in a finite computational domain, perfectly-matchedlayers( PMLs) are introduced as wave-absorbing boundaries within which the domain's wave velocity profile is to be reconstructed. The inverse problem is formulated in a partial-differential-equations(PDE)-constrained optimization framework, where a least-squares misfit between measured and calculated surface responses is minimized under the constraint of PML-endowed wave equations. A Gauss-Newton-Krylov optimization algorithm is utilized to iteratively update the unknown wave velocity profile with the aid of a specialized regularization scheme. Through a series of one-dimensional examples, the solution of the Gauss-Newton inversion was close enough to the target profile, and showed superior convergence behavior with reduced wall-clock time of implementation compared to a conventional inversion using Fletcher-Reeves optimization algorithm.
In this study, we developed reflection tomography inversion algorithm using Straight Ray Technique (SRT) which can calculate travel time easily and fast for complex geological structure. The inversion process begins by setting the initial velocity model as a constant velocity model that hat only impedance boundaries. The inversion process searches a layer-interface structure model that is able to explain the given data satisfactorily by inverting to minimize data misfit. For getting optimal solution, we used Gauss-Newton method that needed constructing the approximate Hessian matrix. We also applied the Marquart-Levenberg regularization method to this inversion process to prevent solution diverging. The ability of the method to resolve typical target structures was tested in a synthetic salt dome inversion. Using the inverted velocity model, we obtained the migration image close to that of the true velocity model.

To investigate the ZnO thin films which are interested in the next generation of short wavelength LEDs and Lasers and UV photodetector with p-type inversion layer, the ZnO thin films were deposited by. RF sputtering system. Substrate temperature and work pressure is $100^{\circ}C$ and 15 mTorr, respectively, and the purity of ZnO target is 5N. The ZnO thin films were deposited at $100^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$, $300^{\circ}C$, and $400^{\circ}C$. For sample deposited at $300^{\circ}C$, we observed full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 0.240 and good surface morphology.
Foldback intercoil (FBI) DNA is formed by the folding back at one point of a non-helical parallel track of double-stranded DNA at as sharp as $180^{\circ}$ and the intertwining of two double helixes within each other's major groove to form an intercoil with a diameter of 2.2 nm. FBI DNA has been suggested to mediate intra-molecular homologous recombination of a deletion and inversion. Inter-molecular homologous recombination, known as site-specific insertion, on the other hand, is mediated by the direct perpendicular approach of the FBI DNA tip, as the attP site, onto the target DNA, as the attB site. Transposition of DNA transposons involves the pairing of terminal inverted repeats and 5-7-bp tandem target duplication. FBI DNA configuration effectively explains simple as well as replicative transposition, along with the involvement of an enhancer element. The majority of diverse retrotransposable elements that employ a target site duplication mechanism is also suggested to follow the FBI DNA-mediated perpendicular insertion of the paired intercoil ends by non-homologous end-joining, together with gap filling. A genome-wide perspective of transposable elements in light of FBI DNA is discussed.
