  • In monitoring and diagnosing machinery with gear trains, gear meshing force are the important signature indicating the operating condition. The gear meshing forces, however, are extremely difficult to be measured while gears are rotating. One easy possible way is to measure vibrations which are produced and transferred by the gear meshing forces. While the gear meshing forces are traveling, the force waveforms are shaped by the path transfer function. In the paper, the way to recover the source waveform by eliminating the path effects is discussed using inverse filter.

  • There exist several forms of transfer function descriptions for multivariable LTI systems. We treat transfer function matrix with characteristic polynomial as its common denominator named Characteristic Transfer-function Matrices (CTM). First, we clarify necessary and sufficient conditions of CTM, then, we show some related lemmas. These interpretations not only offer deeper explanations but they also provide ways for calculations of all possible transfer matrices, system zeros, and inverse polynomial matrices.

  • This study deals with the anxieties that originated from specific student questions. Through the analysis of the textbooks, we confirmed that the question was a sufficiently plausible question. Third interviews were also held with three high school students. Through the interviews, we analyzed students' expressions about the new correspondence relationship that the two correspondence relations are linked. In the determination of the composite function and the determination of the inverse function existence, We have observed a case of how the worries about domain are being reconstructed from students into meaningful mathematical knowledge. Through this, we confirmed that the question will be confusing to students in the field. In this study, we observed the transfer of domain in relation to student domain in composite function. In particular, a present study revealed that the students involved in the interview were influenced by this domain transfer phenomenon in determining whether the task given in the interview was a function. This was the same in determining the existence of a inverse function. The examples presented in this study are limited to specific cases in limited circumstances. Therefore, it can not be applied directly to teaching and learning situations. However, it is expected that this study will provide other researchers with insight into function learning related research.

  • In the conventional inverse modeling method for on-line modeling of the secondary path transfer function, the signal to noise ratio between the arbitrary random signal and the plant noise have to keep at -10 - -20 dB. For these reasons, the modeling can't be exactly implemented by the conventional method alone and the convergence time for modeling becomes too long. In this study, by combining the conventional inverse modeling method with an adaptive line enhancer, or with an adaptive noise canceller, a rigorous transfer functions of secondary path modeling and the control of a primary noise have been implemented simultaneously.

  • In this paper, the extended inverse Chebyshev function have been derived from Chebyshev function. We presented normalized biquads coefficients of n=5, 6 for passband attenuation Ap(dB)=0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and stopband frequency Ws(rad/s)=1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6. A designed low-pass filter from extended inverse Chebyshev transfer function produces the magnitude haracteristic which is maximally flat in the passband and equalripple in the stopband as shown in fig. 3(c), (d). Finally, it showed the magnitude and loss characteristics through realistic circuit simulation, and presented element values.

  • Operating excitation forces of the linear vibratory system are normally determined by direct measurement techniques using load cells, strain gauges, etc. But, hydraulic forces of the rotating turbomachinery such as centrifugal pumps are exerted on an impeller due to asymmety of the flow by the interaction between pump impeller and volute. So, investigations of wide range of hydraulic designs and geometric deviations are difficult by direct method. This paper presents a hybrid approach for fourier transformed operational excitation forces, which uses pseudo-inverse matrix of the transfer matrix for the system and the measured vibrational data with standard installed pump. The determination of the transfer function matrix is based on a linear rotor/stationary system and steady state harmonic response in finite element analysis. And, vibrational data is collected in both vertical and horizontal directions at inboard and outboard bearing housings. The results of the process may be enhanced by making acceleration measurements at many more locations than there are forces to be determined.

  • This paper shows an algorithm for identifying track irregularities using wavelet transfer function along the railway. An equivalent SISO wavelet transfer function is defined using continuous wavelet transform by the measured track geometry and acceleration at a bogie of a train. The estimated track geometry is made by inverse continuous wavelet transform from the regressed signals of measured acceleration signal and the pre-defined wavelet transfer function. The estimated rail irregularity geometry is evaluated by the coherence function and comparison of FRF(Frequency Response Function). As a result of evaluated outcome, This algorithm is regarded as appropriate for estimation of rail irregularity.

  • In this thesis, an active RC filter using high order inverse chebyshev function is designed and the design method for cascading blocks with low sensitivity and maximum dynamic range is discussed. To have maximum dynamic range, we have proposed the simple algorithm with a pole-zero pairing, the cascading sequence by flatness matrix and optimum gain distribution for a given transfer function. And 2nd order Block is designed with negative feedback to improve the sensitivity problem which had a defect at active RC circuits. Using the suggested method, we have designed the active RC low pass filter of the normalized 7th order inverse chebyshev function, as a results, we have shown that this accord with the given specification.

  • Active noise control(ANC) is an approach to noise reduction in which a secondary noise source destructively interferes with the unwanted noise is introduced. Generally, the performance of ANC is determined how well a secondary noise tracks noises. A secondary noise is generated from the cancelling speaker and a error sensor pick up error signal. The transfer function between the cancelling speaker and the error sensor is not flat and distorts secondary noises. Consequently, the performance of ANC is degraded by the transfer function. In this paper, a single sensor ANC which considers the characteristics of the speaker and the error sensor is proposed. To reduce distortion of secondary noises, the transfer function is estimated by adaptive inverse modelling and the primary noises are estimated by Kalman filter. Experimental results show that the proposed single sensor ANC effectively attenuates noises.

  • In this paper, a new carrier complex power series which represents nonlinear transfer function of high power amplifier is derived. Using this transfer function, the nonlinear transfer function of predistortive circuit for linearizing the distortion effect of a HPA(High Power Amplifier) is derived and fabricated. A measured gain and $P_{1dB}$ of the fabricated HPA in IMT-2000 basestation transmitting band are 34.06 dB and 35.4 dBm. The predistortive circuit using inverse carrier complex power series is fabricated and operated with HPA. The predistortive HPA improves C/I(Carrier to Intermodulation) ratio of HPA by 17.01 dB(@Pout=25.43 dBm/tone) with 2-tone at 2.1375 GHz and 2.1425 GHz.
