In Client/Server environments, an employee should be able to access only applications which were assigned to him/her. That makes it difficult to share information among employees. The development of intranet system made it possible to share more information and to access broader information. In this paper, we present a parts management system developed by using Intrabuilder which is an intranet development tool. We intend to suggest a prototype which can guide the development of more delicate and complete parts management systems in the future.

The restaurant franchise industry is one that could benefit significantly from the use of intranet technology, from its potential for improving communications between franchisors and franchisees, to providing easier inventory and ordering processes. However, there is a level of trepidation among potential users about whether the technology would improve their work performance. This study sought to examine the relationships between perceived uncertainty and perceived usefulness of intranet technology in the restaurant franchise industry. Through a review of available literature, 10 sub-dimensions of perceived uncertainty (Duncan, 1972) and six sub-dimensions of perceived usefulness (Davis, 1989) were derived. Canonical correlation analysis was used to examine the relationships between these concepts using data collected from 163 franchising restaurant managers in South Korea. Findings from the data analysis demonstrates two negative factors and one positive factor in perceived uncertainty that influence perceived usefulness, thus offering some implications of what to consider when implementing an intranet system in a restaurant franchise.

The paper describes a push system, a broadcasting system in the internet, which is developed for internet and intranet use. In this paper, we carried out research on the method to support the large number of users in the intranet environment. Particularly the paper analyzes the effects on the network traffic according to the number of the user connected to the push system and the frequency of the connections when push servers are distributed over the intranet. Push system described here uses two different kinds of channels, common channel and local channel. Common channel is the channel to be replicated among the push servers in the intranet. This paper shows that the method using the common channel synchronization is efficient in supporting the large number of intranet users. We introduce an algorithm to make the interconnections between channels efficiently amongpush servers distributed over the intranet.

WWW has accepted widely to the who wants the hypermedia-based internet services. And WWW introduces intranet environment which consists of the networks supporting TCP/IP and HTTP protocol for processing the task of company inside that. Intranet application should support not only acquiring the informations, but also producing, modifying and deleting the ones. But since previous hypermedia development methods lack modeling behavior of system and reuse, we need a new method for intranet application. In this thesis, we have proposed the OOIDM(Object Oriented Intranet application Development Method)supporting modeling behavior of system and reuse. And we have proposed the design patterns available for the intranet domain in order to reuse the design information. And we introduces a case study about OOIDM applying design patterns. Adaptation of design patterns to intranet domain gives us much benefits. Design patterns make it easier to reuse the successful design, architecture and reducing the design decisions.

With the development of Internet, it is widely spreaded to a Intranet based on Internet technology. Intranet is a private, unique network to share the information of organization such as incorporate, research institute and university. With the increase of Intranet using, Intranet environment is developing into Extranet environment which is connected many Intranet. Currently such Intranet and Extranet environments, above all, it is important to solve security problems which can appear through use of information between domains. Thus, in this paper, we propose SSO(Single Sign-on System) model with authorization management and single sign-on operation, and we extend it to enable mutual authentication through inter-working based on PKI(Public Key Infrastructure) in Extranet environments.

동시공학적 개념을 선박의 설계에 적용하기 위하여 동시공학 지원 시스템을 구축하는 방법을 제시함이 이 연구의 목적이다. Intranet기술의 개방성과 경제성을 이용한 시스템 개발은 조선 산업의 특성에 맞는 지원체계를 구축하는데 합리적인 대안으로 여겨진다. 그간의 동시공학 적용노력인 단위 시스템의 개발을 통한 방식에서 벗어나 정보시스템과 통합을 가능하게 하는 Intranet 방식은 설계와 생산, Life-cycle정보의 통합을 가능하게 해주는 Framework을 제공해 줄 수 있다. 동시공학 지원 시스템의 주요기능의 파악과 필요한 요소기술들의 경향분석을 이 연구의 주내용으로 하고 있다. 가상 설계의 기능, 동시공학 팀의 Workflow, 의사소통 지원, 데이타베이스 검색, 관리, 타시스템 연계, 설계 데이타 view등이 주요 필요 기능으로 여겨진다.

Intranet 환경에 다수의 유휴 호스트를 이용하여 많은 계산량을 지닌 응용 문제를 분산시켜 병렬 수행함으로써 효율성의 향상이 기대된다. 하지만 유휴 호스트를 이용하는데 있어서 이질성과 가변성 및 자율성으로 인해 요청에 대한 신뢰성을 예측하기가 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 태스크 할당 및 호스트 관리에 있어서 부하 균등을 위한 동적 분산 병렬 스킴인 적응적 태스크 재할당 기법을 제시한다. 또한, 이미지 랜더링 생성과 프랙탈 이미지 처리와 같은 많은 연산량을 지닌 응용 문제를 PDSWeb 시스템에 적용하여 제안 알고리즘의 성능을 분석하고 평가한다.

In this paper, we present implemetnations of subcontract management system using intranet. Subcontract management is including the support functions such as process control, official documents exchange, and transmission of subcontract management policy carried out by a big companys subcontract management department. By the use of the developed system, both big company and subcontract company are expected to have benefits from a consistent management of information and a strong access function through the internet. Also, it will reduce time lag ocurred a legacy management between two companies in the past.

Individual adoption and sustained usage of information technology(IT) are crucial prerequisites for exploiting IT as integral components of organizational work. Previous studies on technology adoption in workplace suggest that acceptance behavior is influenced by a variety of factors such as individual differences, social influences, beliefs, attitudes, and situational influences. In this paper, we introduce a research model to predict the usage behavior of intranet in workplace and also explain the causal relationships among variables. Based on the survey of 333 intranet users, this study uses structural equation model with LISREL 8.12. This study suggests several major results from surveys and analysis from them. Perceived use is influenced by intranet experience, task equivocality, organizational support, and perceived ease of use, Experience and organizational support determine perceived ease of use. Task equivocality, task interdependence, and organizational support have positive effects on subjective norm. On the other hand, present usage, which is a dependent variable in this model, is influenced by perceived use, experience, task interdependence, and organizational support.

This paper describes the design and implementation of an intranet-based message and file transfer system using the INMARSAT-C for easy transmission and user-friendly interface. For these, onboard LAN including telex, printer and database with centralized one server is designed and constructed. Also, onboard computing environment which provides the INMARSAT-C terminal and RS-232C link interface built in with effective intranet-based web mail system between the ship and land.
