Objectives: This study aimed to understand the trends and issues of health-related intervention research using Intervention Mapping over the last ten years in South Korea. Intervention Mapping is a representative planning protocol to develop theory-and-evidence-based health promotion programs. Methods: The scoping review method was undertaken, and a total of 20 studies were analyzed using Intervention Mapping six steps. Results: The Korean health-related intervention studies using Intervention Mapping showed low methodological quality. In step 1, only 7 out of 20 studies organized a planning group consisting of various stakeholders. In step 2, about half of the studies did not present a matrix, which is the core essential component of Intervention Mapping. In step 5, only 1 out of 20 studies presented program adopters and maintainers. In step 6, most studies described effect evaluation relatively, but only one study mentioned process evaluation. Conclusions: In order to develop sustainable and cost-effective programs, systematic planning using Intervention Mapping is required from the research planning stage. In addition, a concrete and realistic plan needs to be established for the development of programs and adoption, dissemination and maintenance of programs.
Purpose. The purpose of this study was to investigate the trends of the stress intervention program for domestic nurses. Methods. This study was conducted by analyzing 28 papers, which were selected from three hundred seventeen dissertation theses on Domestic Dissertations and Major Associated Journals on Nursing Stress Intervention by searching the Academic Research Information Service(http://riss4u.net) from 1995 to February 2017. Results. 1. The theses were analyzed by academic field, year, research subject, research program type, research topic, analysis of intervention study method and result variables. 2. The study showed that 15(82.14%) theses are masters', 8(28.57) theses are doctors' and 5(17) are journals. By nurses position, 26(92.86%) theses were about general nurses. By hospital, 21(75.00%) theses were about nurses working at the general hopitals whose wards were more than 300. 3. For research type, 7 theses were about aromatherapy(25.00). For the research subjects, 16 theses were about psychological variables. The study showed that the subjects were $22.62{\pm}7.62$ persons and mean intervention period was $3.8{\pm}2.61$ weeks. For experimental methods, 19 cases (67.86%) were non-equalty control group, which are most. Conclusions. In conclusion, research on nurses stress mediation has been steadily increasing. However, the studies on nurses stress intervention need to be diversified and activated because the intervention methods and types are fragmentary and the research fileds are concentrated on theses.
Purpose: This study aimed to provide a systematic review of the evidence from controlled trials regarding nursing intervention studies on patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention, a discussion of the methodological problems that limit current research, and suggestions regarding future directions for research. Methods: Using a predefined protocol, 27 electronic databases were searched, studies selected, relevant data extracted, and the methodological quality of the studies assessed. Results: Twenty-seven studies were found reporting complex, generally heterogeneous interventions. The studies reported positive results, including self-efficacy, knowledge, and self-care. There were 6 randomized controlled trials, 19 quasi-experimental studies, and 2 only research group studies. In addition to support components, the interventions included elements of teaching, counseling, and education. Nursing interventions are still in the developmental and testing phase. Conclusion: The review demonstrated that a great deal is known about nursing intervention, the impact on a range of outcomes, and methodology. Although some useful evidence was reported for all interventions, further research needs to be carried out.
Purpose: This study was intended to integrate the evidence of intervention for child and adolescent perpetrators of school violence through an integrative literature review. Methods: Using combinations of the terms 'bullying', 'school violence', and 'intervention' as key words, the researchers searched eight electronic databases for relevant studies. Fifteen studies were selected through full-text screening of related research published in academic journals before June 2018. The framework was used to identify the selected studies' intervention patterns and classify the various intervention components. The extracted intervention components were grouped into potential themes to determine whether the researchers clearly showed the interventions in the studies. Results: The intervention components of 15 selected studies were categorized into five themes: 1) Utilizing intervention techniques for voluntary participation, 2) Enhancing self-awareness, 3) Strategies to improve emotional intelligence, 4) Promoting interpersonal skills, and 5) Emphasis on responsibility through future vision experience. Conclusion: As a result of analyzing interventions for children and adolescent perpetrators of school violence, five components were derived. It is suggested that these components should be considered in the field, and intervention programs development and research using them are needed.
Purpose : The purpose of this study provided an overview of the general status and recent intervention approaches in overseas research related to feeding problems in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This review aims to explore interventions for feeding problems in order to provide higher quality follow-up research directions and implications, particularly focusing on providing recommendations for future research in the context of domestic studies. Methods : Analyzing studies published in international journals from 2017 to 2023. This review involved six selected articles, through Embase, Pubmed, RISS, KISS database search engine. A literature analysis that includes inclusion and exclusion criteria, six selected articles were examined. The literature analysis categorized the general status of the research and intervention approaches and treatment components into intervention, treatment settings and therapists, and dependent variables, respectively. Results : Among feeding intervention approaches, parent education interventions based on behavioral therapy had the highest proportion, followed by multidisciplinary interventions. To maintain the effectiveness of interventions over the long term and to generalize them to the home environment, parent education that utilizes parents as mediators is considered a crucial factor. The most commonly observed effects as dependent variables were changes in the consumption of disliked foods, health foods and alterations in feeding behavior. Conclusion : This study introduces various intervention approaches for addressing feeding problems in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), focusing on the positive effects demonstrated by active intervention research in abroad. Furthermore, it underscores the need for additional research in Korea to validate the efficacy of these feeding intervention methods. Lastly, the study outlines future research directions aimed at developing feeding programs to support children with ASD and their families coping with feeding issues.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the current status of obesity intervention programs, and its effects on endothelium function in adolescents. Method: This was a descriptive research study, that investigated domestic and international literature 2009-2018. Using databases inside and outside of Korea to search for 'adolescent', 'obese adolescent', 'exercise', 'program', or 'intervention', and 'endothelium function', a total of 14 literature have been selected for 6 domestic research and 8 international research, excluding overlapping, case studies, literature reviews, and unrelated studies. Results: Interventions for enhancing endothelium function were exercise program, diet, vitamin D3 treatment, and Orlistat intake relative to international research, and combined exercise and purple sweet potato intake, in most domestic research. Dependent variables included FMD, RHI, NMD, EPCs, and EMPs, for measuring endothelium function in international research, and PWV, FMD and RHI, in domestic research. Conclusion: Results of this study confirmed that application of obese intervention programs, may improve endothelium function in adolescents. Further studies are required, to develop nursing intervention, that would enhance endothelium function in adolescents.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify trends in intervention studies on childhood obesity in Korea. Methods: From 1996, when the first research paper on childhood obesity intervention was published, to 2015, 192 published papers were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: The number of studies increased sharply between 1996 and 2007, but declined slightly from then. The majority of studies involved only children as intervention participants. Most were elementary students, and overweight and obese children. Exercise therapy was the most common type of intervention. Parental participation was found in 35 studies, while teacher's participation was found in only one study. In many studies physiological indicators were used as measurement variables, but follow-up was done in only 10 studies. Finally, only a few studies applied a conceptual framework, while a quasi-experimental research design was used for most studies. Conclusion: Examination of trends in intervention studies on childhood obesity in Korea, shows there has been a quantitative increase but not enough improvement in terms of the quality of interventions. Findings in the present study suggest that it is necessary to seek diversity in terms of study participants, interventions and evaluation method along with quality improvement in research methodology.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose directions for the development of Occupational Health Nursing Intervention by identifying the current status and quality of Occupational Health Nursing Intervention Research in domestic industries. Methods: Between 2000 and August of 2018, total of 1,181 Occupational Health Nursing related published references were searched using 4 domestic databases, and of the total, 29 final theses that suited the requirements were analysed In this research, the quality assessment of literature that were selected as suitable was conducted using a tool for assessing the biasing risk of non-randomized studies, RoBANS(Risk of Biasing Assessment Tool for Non-randomized Study). Results: For all research, nonequivalent control group pre-posttest design was the most used as quasi-experimental designs. The effectiveness of intervention was found both in terms of physical and psychological aspects, and the result of the risk of biasing assessment showed a high risk levels in both "confounding variables" and "detection bias". Conclusion: Occupational Health Nursing Intervention have been steadily making improvements in terms of both quality and quantity, and as for more effective intervention developments that improves the physical and mental health of the workers, supplementation in strict research design and in ethical aspects deems necessary.
Purpose : This study aims to conduct a comprehensive comparison and analysis of intervention strategies utilized for school-aged children facing difficulties in writing, focusing on evaluating the effectiveness of various intervention approaches both domestically and internationally. The primary focus is on assessing the efficacy of each intervention approach and identifying gaps in the existing literature. Methods : Data for this study were gathered from the domestic database RISS from January 2013 to March 2020, and international databases Pubmed and Google Scholar were utilized. The keywords for domestic literature search included 'occupational therapy', 'handwriting', and 'school-aged', while for international literature search, the keywords were 'occupational therapy', 'handwriting', and 'children'. A total of 4 international and 2 domestic articles were selected for review based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results : The study findings present a thorough comparative analysis of intervention strategies, categorizing them into task-oriented intervention, sensory-motor intervention, and integrated intervention. All intervention methods demonstrated notable improvements in the legibility of handwriting. Comparison between domestic and international literature revealed a predominant use of task-oriented intervention in domestic studies, while international studies showcased a diverse range of intervention methods. Conclusion : Interventions were categorized into computer-based, task-oriented, sensory-motor, and integrated interventions. Task-oriented interventions were the most common in both domestic and international studies, while integrated interventions were the most effective. Based on these findings, it is necessary to increase awareness of the need for handwriting intervention research among occupational therapists in Korea. Additionally, there is a need for well-supported handwriting intervention research with larger sample sizes in both domestic and international occupational therapy. Finally, future research should actively investigate the application of tailored integrated interventions for school-aged children with handwriting difficulties.
