A study on performance and smoke emission characteristics by blending low purity methanol in a DI diesel engine with the EGR rates of 0, 12.8 and 16.5%

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate experimentally the effect of low purity methanol (LPM) on performance and smoke emission characteristics by using a four-cycle, four-cylinder, water-cooled, direct injection diesel engine with EGR system. The experiments are performed by the change of engine load in the engine load ranges of 25 to 100% with an interval of 25% under the constant engine speed of 2000 rpm. The LPM in the fuel blends contained 24.88% water by volume. The blended fuel ratios of diesel oil to LPM are maintained at 100/0, 95/5, 90/10 and 85/15% on the volume basis. In this paper, EGR rates are varied in three conditions of 0, 12.8 and 16.5%. The result shows that the brake power of a blended fuel with 15% LPM is reduced more 11.1% than that of the neat diesel oil at the full load with the EGR rate of 16.5%. At this condition, also, the brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) is increased by 3.2%, the exhaust gas temperature is decreased by 10.7%, the smoke opacity is decreased by 18.7% and the brake thermal efficiency is increased by 7.3%. The sharp reduction of smoke opacity for a blended fuel with the LPM content of 15% at the full load without EGR system is observed by 68.4% compared with that of the neat diesel oil due to the high oxygen content of LPM.

  • In this study, to increase output of road piezoelectric energy harvester, it was made into rack type in which many piezoelectric materials can be installed and load transfer device of the leverage type to transfer vehicle load was made. By paving it in the road, the output characteristics depending on vehicle load and speed were evaluated. Changing vehicle load, harvester output characteristics depending on speed changes were evaluated at the interval of 10 km/h from 10 km/h to 100 km/h. Also, by making a wireless switch and sending wireless signal with output of rack type harvester, whether to receive it was evaluated by distance. It was checked that all switches work up to front-to-back 100 m from harvester.

  • 본 연구는 컨테이너 크레인이 강풍에 대비하여 크레인을 고정하는 계류 시에 75m/s의 풍하중이 50ton급 컨테이너 크레인에 작용될 때, 풍향변화와 기계실의 위치 변화가 50ton급 컨테이너 크레인의 구조적 안정성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.. 본 연구에 적용된 설계 풍하중은 "건축물 하중 기준"에 의거하여 산출하였으며. 풍향은 $0^{\circ}\~180^{\circ}$$15^{\circ}$ 간격으로 적용하여 각 지지점에서의 반력을 분석하였다. 그리고 전체 자중의 $15\%$를 차지하는 기계실의 위치 변화가 컨테이너 크레인의 구조 안정성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그리고 이 결과들을 바탕으로 컨테이너 크레인의 전도방지장치인 타이다운(Tie-down)의 설계기준을 제시하였다.

  • 도시화 및 경제성장에 따라 기존 매립지 등 기피 시설로 인식되어 있는 지상 환경기초시설 및 에너지생산 시설의 지하화가 중요한 사회적 이슈로 대두되고 있다. 대규모 플랜트 시설을 지하에 안전하게 건설하기 위해서는 제한적인 공간 레이아웃의 활용성을 높이고, 불필요한 기둥을 최소화해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 플랜트 시설을 지하화 할 경우 발생하는 작업의 제약여건, 조립 및 철거, 공정 계통의 연계성, 유지 보수 등의 문제를 해결하기 위하여 플랜트 모듈화 공법(파이프랙)에 대해 검토하였다. 복합플랜트의 지하 고집적 배치, 공간 레이아웃 활용성 향상 및 구조물 안정성 확보를 위해 다양한 하중조건(지진하중, 장치하중, 토압하중 등)을 적용한 플랜트 모듈 해석을 수행하였다. 또한, 작용하중과 부재가 견딜 수 있는 설계강도비 값을 검토하고 모듈 형상에 따른 안정성을 고려한 파이프랙 소재를 추출하였다. 다양한 경계조건에서의 해석 결과를 바탕으로 지하복합플랜트 건설 시 필요한 기본모듈의 최소 설치 간격 및 모듈 배치(안)에 관한 시사점을 도출하였다.

영산강수계 소하천의 오염부하량 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Assessment of Pollution Loads at Small Stream in Yeongsan River Watershed)

  • In this study, the load of the river was calculated by using the actual data of the Yeong-bon C1, Yeong-bon C2, Yeong-bon C3 monitoring points of the Yeong-san river watershed to determine the excess. As a result, the BOD is 75.83 % at the Yeong-bon C1 and the five-year average value is higher than at other points. The Yeong-bon C3 was 72.15 % and Yeong-bon C2 was analyzed as 68.78 %. The five-year average of the T-P was 71.95 % for the Yeong-bon C2 and 69.86 % for the Yeong-bon C3 and 69.16 % for Yeong-bon C1; these levels exceeded the target water quality standards of 50 %. As a result of analyzing the pollutant load, we found that the Yeong-bon C1 has been highly affected by the nonpoint pollution source because the excess rate is high in the upper section of the flow rate. The Yeong-bon C2 showed a high excess rate in the lower part of the flow rate, and it was estimated that the influence of the point pollution source was large. The excess rate of the Yeong-bon C3 is small in the interval deviation, and it was evaluated as being affected by both point and non-point pollution sources. The TMDL monitoring network data were used to estimate the exceed ratio for the target water quality assessment, and the implementation evaluation was made by the flow exceedance probability interval to analyze the monitoring data so that the data could be utilized according to the purpose of the measurement network.

보강된 보의 균열특성과 손상상태의 상관관계 (Relationship between Crack Characteristics and Damage State of Strengthened Beam)

  • 건설된지 오래되어 보강이 필요한 구조물이 증가하고 있다. 이런 구조물들은 현재 상태에 대한 정확한 평가가 있어야만 보강여부 및 보강 방법 등을 결정할 수 있다. 따라서 손상정도를 평가하는 객관적인 방법이 절실히 필요하나, 균열이나 처짐과 같이 관측이 용이한 구조물의 변화 특성을 이용하여 기존 구조물의 손상 상태를 평가하는 연구가 지금까지는 거의 없는 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 하중의 증가에 따른 균열 특성을 측정, 분석하고, 균열 특성 값과 실 구조물의 손상상태, 또는 재하 상태와의 상관관계를 규명하기 위하여, 11개의 실험체를 대상으로 다양한 균열 특성 값을 측정, 도출, 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 검토된 균열 특성 값에는 균열 개수, 균열 길이, 균열 범위, 균열 간격, 최대 균열길이, 균열 면적, 평균 균열길이 등이 검토되었다. 분석결과는 항복 하중시 측정된 처짐 값을 기준으로 각각 하중 단계별 처짐 값을 백분율로 명시한 상대 처짐 값과 표준화된 균열 특성 값의 상관관계를 규명하였다. 이렇게 표준화된 여러 개의 균열 특성 값 중 균열 간격, 균열 면적, 균열 범위, 최대 균열길이 등의 상대 처짐 값과의 상관관계가 밀접한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 실 구조물에서도 균열을 측정하여 표준값을 찾아내면, 그 구조물에 작용하는 하중의 크기나 과거에 받았던 최대 하중의 크기를 추정하는데 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 구조물의 손상단계를 보다 신뢰성 높게 추정하기 위해서는 실험체의 제원, 콘크리트 및 철근의 강도, 철근비 등의 다양한 변수가 앞으로도 계속 연구되어야 할 것이다.

확공을 이용한 지압형 앵커의 인발거동 특성 연구 (The Study of Pullout-Behavior Characteristics of The Ground Anchor Using Expanded Hole)

  • Ground anchor expands the hollow wall of settled part and has the structure which resists the designed tensile load by the bearing pressure generated by the wedge of the anchor body pressing in the expanded part. Such ground anchor has been recognized for stability and economicality since 1960s in technologically advanced nations such as Japan and Europe, and in 1970s, the Japan Society of Soil Engineering has established and announced the anchor concept map. The ground anchor introduced in Korea, however, has the structural problem where the tensile strength is comes only from the ground frictional force due to expansion of the wedge body. In an interval where the ground strength is locally reduced due to fault, discontinuation or such, this is pointed out as a critical weakness where the anchor body of around 1.0m must resist the tensile load. Also, in the installation of concrete block, the concentrated stress of concrete block constructed on the uneven rock surface causes damage, and many such issues in the anchor head have been reported. Thus, in this study, by using the expanded bit for precise expansion of settled part, the ground anchor system was completed so that the bearing pressure of ground anchor can be expressed as much as possible, and the bearing plate was inserted into the ground to resolve the existing issues of concrete block. Through numerical analysis and pullout test executed for verification of site applicability, the pullout-behavior characteristics of anchor was analyzed.

A Two-stage Stochastic Programming Model for Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch with High Penetration Level of Wind Generation

  • The increasing of wind power penetration level presents challenges in classical optimal reactive power dispatch (ORPD) which is usually formulated as a deterministic optimization problem. This paper proposes a two-stage stochastic programming model for ORPD by considering the uncertainties of wind speed and load in a specified time interval. To avoid the excessive operation, the schedule of compensators will be determined in the first-stage while accounting for the costs of adjusting the compensators (CACs). Under uncertainty effects, on-load tap changer (OLTC) and generator in the second-stage will compensate the mismatch caused by the first-stage decision. The objective of the proposed model is to minimize the sum of CACs and the expected energy loss. The stochastic behavior is formulated by three-point estimate method (TPEM) to convert the stochastic programming into equivalent deterministic problem. A hybrid Genetic Algorithm-Interior Point Method is utilized to solve this large-scale mixed-integer nonlinear stochastic problem. Two case studies on IEEE 14-bus and IEEE 118-bus system are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

설계하중 및 고온을 받은 초고강도 콘크리트의 잔존압축강도 및 변형 특성 평가 (Evaluation on Residual Compressive Strength and Strain Properties of Ultra High Strength Concrete with Design Load and Elevated Temperature)

  • In this study, the ultra high strength concrete which have 100, 150, 200MPa took the heat from 20℃ to 70 0℃ and the 0, 20% stress in normal condition's to evaluate stress-strain, residual compressive strength and thermal expansion deformation were evaluated. The heating speed of specimen was 0.77℃/min 20~50℃, 50℃ before the target temperature, and the other interval's heating speed was 1℃/min. As a result, the stress-strain curve of non-load specimen showed the liner behavior at high temperature when the specimen's strength increased more. If ultra high strength concrete got loads, its compressive strength tended to decrease different from the normal strength concrete. The thermal expansion deformation was expanded from a vitrification of quartz over 500℃. however, over the 600℃, it was shrinked because of the dehydration of the combined water.

  • This paper described the development of equalizing spacer for minimization of voltage drop according to DC feeder extension. Power consumption is increased as shorter interval of train driving time and transportation capacity increase in urban subway. Therefore we investigated voltage drop of catenary at a point in case of traction driving of a train in parallel to the DC power supply system. Based on it's result, equalizing spacer is designed and fabrication to minimize the voltage drop in accordance with the power supply line arranged in three rows, and then its performance was confirmed that the stress distribution of main body and the distributed load are satisfied through the body structure modeling.
