Purpose: This study sought to compare the characteristics of patients with pathogen-positive and negative cultures, and to investigate factors predicting pathogen-positive culture results in patients of acute poisoning with suspected aspiration. Methods: Consecutive patients with acute poisoning admitted to an intensive care unit between January 2016 and December 2018 were retrospectively studied. Respiratory specimens were collected from the enrolled patients at the time of the suspected aspiration. We compared the characteristics of patients with pathogen-positive and negative culture results and analyzed the causative pathogens. Results: Among the 526 patients, 325 showed no clinical features that could be attributed to aspiration, and 201 patients had clinical features suggestive of aspiration. Of these, 113 patients had pathogen-positive culture, 61 were negative, and the specimens of 27 patients contained poor-quality sputum. In univariate analysis, patients with a positive culture showed a longer time to culture from ingestion (p=0.01), faster heart rate (p=0.01), and higher partial pressure of arterial oxygen to the fraction of inspired oxygen (PaO2/FiO2) (p=0.02) than patients with negative culture. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that PaO2/FiO2 (adjusted odd ratio, 1.005; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.002-1.008; p=0.005) was a significant risk factor for pathogen-positive culture. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of PaO2/FiO2 was 0.591 (95% CI, 0.510-0.669, p=0.05). Gram-negative pathogens (GNPs) were predominant and at least one GNP was observed in 84 (73.3%) patients among those with pathogen positive culture. Conclusion: We failed to find any clinical factors associated with positive culture results. Antibiotics that cover GNPs could be considered when deciding the initial antibiotic regimen at the time of suspected aspiration.
This study was done to evaluate the effect reducing artificial dead space on intubated children. Data were collected from July 1st, 1998 to August 31st, 1999. The subjects were selected from a pediatric intensive care unit of 'S' hospital and intubated with 3.5 mm or 4.5 mm endotracheal tube after open heart surgery. They were composed of 34 patients : 17 patients were assigned to the experimental group and the rest of them were placed in the control group. The artificial airway volume was minimized in the experimental group, and the control group maintained the artificial airway volume. ETCO2, PaCO2, SPO2 were measured as indicators of pulmonary ventilation. The tools of this study were GEM-Premier and Space-Lab patient monitors. The data were analyzed using the SPSS/PC+ program. The $\chi$2 -test was used to find general characteristics. The t-test was used to test the homogenety of the pulmonary ventilation status and mechanical ventilation setting before intervention between the two groups. Also, the paired t-test was used to examine the hypothesis. The results can be summerized as : 1. CO2 can be expelled effectively from the body in case artificial dead space was decreased. 2. As the artificial dead space was reduced, the difference between ETCO2 and PaCO2 was decreased, in other words pulmonary ventilation was improved. 3. If the artificial dead space occupied above 15 percent of tidal volume, the effect of CO2 was retention revealed in the body. 4. If the artificial dead space occupied below effect. Based on the results, the following is suggested to be applied practically : 1. A kind of the ventilator circuit acting artificial dead space should be removed from the intubated children with mechanical ventilaion. 2. The endotracheal tube should not be cut because extra-body space of the endotracheal tube did not have an effect on the dead space of the intubated children. Since the researcher could not cover this aspect in the study, they recommend the following. 1. The study should be extended to the other pulmonary disease patients for the effect of improving pulmonary ventilation. 2. Also, further studying with a more narrow interval in the extra-body space of the artificial airway will be able to explain the point of artificial dead space with proper ventilation.
This study was correlation analysis between provision and management of street green and street environment through field survey about city official roads(93 routes, 629.2km) in Seoul. Green belt under the street trees were 17.5% of all routes. Composition of street green belt width of 1~ 2m was the most common(11.6%). Management status as a protected facilities were protect frame and prtect cover installed inerval(60.1%). Interval of pruning was 63.5%. Type of tree was mainly 47.9%. Road width was mainly more than 8-line(51.3%). Sidewalk width was mainly 3~6m(84.1%)in environment status of street. Landuse was mainly commercial and business(70.3%). Electronic wire complete was mainly compete with crown(33.6%). Use of sidewalk was mainly used(16.3%). ANOVA analysis was conducted between the Street green and environment of Street. Street green belt(more than with 3m) was analyzed to be effective in street green manufacture. Natural green area of city's outside and Industrial area were analyzed to be effective. Use of sidewalk was to be a management. Protection facilities are installed on the narrow sidewalk width lower intensity. There was a higher strength in narrow sidewalk width, road width and compete with crown. And type of tree was higher strength similarly. Pruning and type of tree showd a significant correlation. Thus, ensure sufficient sidewalk width and land use should be considered for street green was effective manufacture and management. Species selection and pruning management was needed by consider electronic wire management, type of tree and landscape.

In this paper, we present novel dual-band microstrip antennas using inverted-L-shaped parasitic elements vertically at radiation apertures for GPS L1(1.575 GHz) and L2(1.227 GHz) bands. For making dual band which has large interval, the inverted-L-shaped parasitic element was loaded at the radiation aperture of a half-wavelength patch antenna(GPS L1) in opposite direction of the feeding point for receiving the low frequency(GPS L2). The low frequency occurs by perturbation and coupling between the patch and parasitic. Next, due to use circular polarizations at the GPS applications, two inverted-L-shaped parasitic elements were loaded at radiation apertures of each polarizations and the feeding point was moved at diagonal part of the patch. The dimensions of the designed circularly polarized antenna were $88.5{\times}79{\times}10.4mm^3$ ($0.36{\lambda}L{\times}0.32{\lambda}L{\times}0.04{\lambda}L$, ${\lambda}L$ is the free-space wavelength at 1.227 GHz). Measured -10 dB bandwidths were 116.3 MHz(7.4%) and 64.3 MHz(5.2%) at GPS L1 and L2 bands, respectively. All of these cover the respective required system bandwidths. The measured 3 dB axial ratio bandwidths were 11.7 MHz(0.74%) and 14 MHz(1.14%), respectively. Within each of the designed bands, broadside radiation patterns were observed.

The compaction grouting method is one of the conventional ground improvement methods, which consolidates and compacts the surrounding ground through the injection of grout materials with low mobility. Injecting the grout into the ground can improve the soil properties, as well as form a composite of soil-grout columns. However, the conventional grout pumping is not applicable to handle multiple injection holes at the same time, which may diminish its constructability when the construction time is not enough. This paper proposes a simultaneous multiple compaction-grouting method using a new pump system developed to cover up simultaneously three injection holes at a time. Field injection tests with a single injection hole and with triangular arrangement of injection holes were conducted to evaluate the applicability of the proposed method to soft clay ground. In addition, a series of standard penetration tests (SPTs) were performed to assess the efficiency of each arrangement in improving the soft ground. It is noted from the in-situ test results that the interval distances between injection holes and the elapse time for ground stabilization are the crucial factors governing the applicability of the simultaneous multiple compaction-grouting method to improve the soft clay ground.

The newly improved multistep steel pipe grouting method was applied to an existing steel pipe-reinforced grouting method. It was applied in order to prevent a damage caused by ground failure from excessive grouting pressure in a tunnel construction. The tunnel goes under a highway and a ramp connected to a rest area on OO highway with 11.3~12.1 m depth cover and is a part of roadbed facility construction section ordered by OO public corporation. The improved grouting method provides pre-construction work condition assessment technique through new water injection limit test and grouting effect assessment technique by grouting type assessment. It also includes assessments on interval of joints, appropriate grouting pressure, and optimal operation time to be applied to current operations. Application of the grouting method allowed the smooth road management in shallow-depth grouting construction area located upper part of tunnel excavation. Moreover, the possibility of the application of the method not only to shallow-depth grouting construction but also to various steel pipe-reinforced grouting constructions was confirmed.

Late Quaternary stratigraphy and sedimentary environmental changes were studied based on four core sediments and their pore water taken from the southwestern part of the East Sea. The results of tephrostratigraphy and radiocarbon dates indicate that the cores cover the time interval from the middle stage of Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 3 to MIS 1 (Holocene). The average of sedimentation rate in core sediments varies from 10 cm/kyr to 20 cm/kyr, but it fluctuates generally in particular time intervals such as MIS 2, which would be related with the sea-level changes at that time. On the other hand, the relations between ${\delta}^{13}C_{org}$ and C/N ratios suggest that the organic matter in the cores was originated mainly from marine algae. In addition, the value of ${\delta}^{13}C_{CH4}$ indicates bacterial origin rather than thermogenic one.
In this paper, the ultra-widebend, microstrip patch antenna with the bandwidth of 3 GHz was implemented for ultra-wideband(UWB) wireless communication applications. In order to cover the very wide bandwidth of 3 GHz, a multi-resonance antenna was designed, each resonance frequency was separated into five frequency bend, 7.5, 8.1, 8.7, 9.3, and 9.9GHz with the interval of 600MHz BW. And for wideband characteristics of each antenna, U-slot antennas were designed at each center frequency. Designed five U-slot antennas were connected in series for multi-resonance of 3GHz BW and wideband matching was also designed for impedance matching transmission line calculated. The relative dielectric constant, the height, the loss tangent of the PCB substrate were ${\epsilon}_r=4.8,\;h=0.6$ and loss tangent=0.0009 respectively. The implemented antenna's radiation patterns and gain were directivity characteristics and $1.46{\sim}4.08dBi$ at the five separated center frequency.

We consider design factors for a SQUID sensor array to construct a 52-channel magnetocardiogram (MCG) system that can be used to measure tangential components of the cardiac magnetic fields. Nowadays, full-size multichannel MCG systems, which cover the whole signal area of a heart, are developed to improve the clinical analysis with high accuracy and to provide patients with comfort in the course of measurement. To design the full-size MCG system, we have to make a compromise between cost and performance. The cost is involved with the number of sensors, the number of the electronics, the size of a cooling dewar, the consumption of refrigerants for maintenance, and etc. The performance is the capability of covering the whole heart volume at once and of localizing current sources with a small error. In this study, we design the cost-effective arrangement of sensors for MCG by considering an adequate sensor interval and the confidence region of a tolerable localization error, which covers the heart. In order to fit the detector array on the cylindrical dewar economically, we removed the detectors that were located at the corners of the array square. Through simulations using the confidence region method, we verified that our design of the detector array was good enough to obtain whole information from the heart at a time. A result of the simulation also suggested that tangential-component MCG measurement could localize deeper current dipoles than normal-component MCG measurement with the same confidence volume; therefore, we conclude that measurement of the tangential component is more suitable to an MCG system than measurement of the normal component.
A continuous series of 60 snow samples was collected at a 2.5-cm interval from a 1.5-m snow pit at a site on the Styx Glacier Plateau in Victoria Land, Antarctica, during the 2011/2012 austral summer season. Various chemical components (${\delta}D$, ${\delta}^{18}O$, $Na^+$, $K^+$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$, $Cl^-$, $SO_4{^2-}$, $NO_3{^-}$, $F^-$, $CH_3SO_3{^-}$, $CH_3CO_2{^-}$ and $HCO_2{^-}$) were determined to understand the highly resolved seasonal variations of these species in the coastal atmosphere near the Antarctic Jang Bogo station. Based on vertical profiles of ${\delta}^{18}O$, $NO_3{^-}$and MSA, which showed prominent seasonal changes in concentrations, the snow samples were dated to cover the time period from 2009 austral winter to 2012 austral summer with a mean accumulation rate of $226kgH_2Om^{-2}yr^{-1}$. Our snow profiles show pronounced seasonal variations for all the measured chemical species with a different pattern between different species. The distinctive feature of the occurrence patterns of the seasonal variations is clearly linked to changes in the relative strength of contributions from various natural sources (sea salt spray, volcanoes, crust-derived dust, and marine biogenic activities) during different short-term periods. The results allow us to understand the transport pathways and input mechanisms for each species and provide valuable information that will be useful for investigating long-term (decades to century scale periods) climate and environmental changes that can be deduced from an ice core to be retrieved from the Styx Glacier Plateau in the near future.
