North Korea sharing a border with China has developed economic relations with China for a long time. During the cold war(from 1950s to late 1980s), political, military and economic ties between the two countries have become stronger because they had maintained the same political and economic system. However their economic relations have significantly changed after China has adopted market economies since the late 1970s. In particular, trade volume has been shrinked significantly since the late 1990s when China began to ask hard currency payments in their commercial transactions. This paper aims to investigate the conditions and prospects of trade and logistics relations between North Korea and China including the problems existed and then make some suggestions to foster their trade relations. In conclusion in order to develop its trade relations with China, it is suggested that North Korea should make significant changes in its economic and logistics system including infrastructure, institutional schemes, social and trade practices ect. because most problems in bilateral trade have been incurred from North Korea.

This study has analyzed the international trade flow of medical devices in Korea, China, and U.S. more theoretically and systematically through a mutual connection of the medical device export structure of Korea and the import structure of China and U.S. organically, with an intensity approach on the bilateral international trade flow. Also, it is meaningful to find a solution to boost exports of Korea to China and U.S.. Therefore in this study, we recognize the importance of the medical device market in China and U.S., which is the main competition for Korea and its market, and look into the trade situation of these three countries. We also look into the relative market stream and the trade intensity of the main medical devices in Korea, China and U.S., and seek measures for the steady growth of the medical device market in these three countries.

This paper examines the major determinants affecting the user satisfaction on e-Trade portal sites in small and medium-sized exporters. The development of our research model is based on the empirical studies on the service quality of information system, web sites or Internet shopping mall, and on the factors influencing the user satisfaction. With the help of a regression analysis and factor analysis, five hypotheses are derived and tested. The results from regression analysis suggest that the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is affected by information characteristics and ease of use of e-Trade portal sites. In addition, the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is enhanced by support for international trade. Our findings will be useful, especially for those who are planning to build user-oriented e-Trade portal sites.

The world economy is becoming increasingly globalized. The globalization has resulted in far reaching agreements to deepen trade liberalization and enlarge its scope to cover new areas in addition to strengthening its supporting institutional base. Economic growth has developed international trade which has accelerated the development of international carriage of goods in 21st century. The international trade is basically founded on the contract of international sale of goods and backed up by the contract of international carriage of goods and the insurance on the goods carried. It is essential to incorporate each other sections for the efficient development of international trade. As a result of rapid expansion of international carriage of goods, rationalization of transport was required, which has brought about the International Multimodal Transport System through containerization. The approach to liability system will be a right way to solve the insurance problems for the development and enlargement of world trade volume. International multimodal transport system has affected international trade a lot, especially the field of insurance a grate deal. This paper is to analyze contents of liability system on Multimodal Transport with in the UN Convention on International Multimodal Transport of goods.

The lighting equipments industry in Korea has been characterized as high-costly and low-efficient, and has been decreasing in its international competitiveness since the birth of the WTO. The industry has been exposed to a harsh competition with large quantities of cheap imports from China and has been influenced by the unfair trade of Chinese enterprises. Korea Trade Commission and other related government bodies in Korea are required to enforce import regulations against Chinese products and investigate thoroughly unfair trade practices including false indication of country of origin, infringement of intellectual property rights and dumping.

E-trade is important that SMEs can do international business with activity. However, SMEs are facing psychological and economic barriers to e-trade. Therefore, SMEs depend on intermediaries for e-trading. In this context, APEC carried out the APEC Global B2B Interoperability Project to promote e-trade and increase benefits for member countries from 2002 to 2004. Especially this project emphasizes a collaboration with e-marketplaces. It has significance in that it is a new model to help SMEs do international trade. This study analyzes the APEC project in terms of technology and business and evaluates the project as a collaborative business model.

This study intends to analyze the trade competitiveness of Korean films in international markets. Under environmental of film industry, Korean films could be doing better. But the Key success factors Korean films in the foreign markets are the improvement of contents Quality and the diversification of trade market. Namely, Our films is mainly exporting Japanese market and the import depends upon American films. In case the trade specialization index(TSI), The international competitiveness of Korean films shows lower import specialization, by virtue of export increasing of Japan, Europe and other markets in 2000's. On the other hand, The Export Market Share has shown similar pattern to main markets except Japanese market, and the import was almost similar to trend in foreign markets except American films. Consequently the present film strategies and polices that delight limited markets will not be compete in global markets, Korean films or contents is merely called by that name.

Since July 7 mutual declaration in 1988 which is a landmark for South-North Korean relations, Inter-Korean Trade has been set out. During the period, the Inter-Korean Trade has been ups and downs depending on the Inter-Korean relations and economic situation of both countries. South Korea became one of the major three trading countries of North Korea's trading partners in 2000, when the sum of annual trade volume reached the record 425million US dollars. A rapidly increasing number of countries including North Korea are developing national policies and strategies to promote the digital economy, recognizing the potential benefits of e-business as an engine of growth and development. However, the trade structure of South-North Korea remains very simple in terms of its contents. Furthermore trade procedure many limitations especially electronic commerce in North Korea has many obstacles to working properly. The information in Inter-Korean trade cannot be shared in common. South Korean firms have suffered repeatedly trial and error and excessive competition took place among South Korean firms. Institutional inertia related to mutual trade, political and military Impacts on Inter-Korean economic relations, abnormal industrial structure of North Korea and insufficiency of SOC could be mentioned as major problems in Inter-Korean trade as well. Several measures should be taken in order to cope with those problems. First of all, South Korean government should provide valuable information to business firms about North Korean economy and business environments. It is suggested that forums related to inter-Korean trade hold in regular base between South and North Koreas and establish the system of business information sharing. Second, the government should improve various laws and regulations to respond to the realistic needs of inter-Korean trade. That is, detailed measures should be taken to guarantee investment in electronic commerce. Third, it is desirable to start with the mutual agreement between South and North Korea.

전자무역 해외시장조사, 계약, 신용조사, 거래알선, 결제, 보험, 운송 등 무역거래 전반의 프로세스를 통합하여 구매효율성을 높이고, 시간단축 등을 통해 전자무역 업무의 효율성 및 생산성을 높일 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 전자무역업무의 몰입 요인인 무역업체 종업원이 해외시장조사업무의 몰입, 상역업무의 몰입, e-LC업무의 몰임, 통관업무의 몰입, e-B/L 및 Logistics업무의 몰입, 결제 및 e-Nego업무의 몰입 등을 개발하여, 전자무역업무의 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 있다. 분석결과, "해외시장 조사업무의 몰입", "e-LC업무의 몰입", "통관업무의 몰입"과 "e-B/L 및 Logistic 업무의 몰입" 그리고 "결제 및 e-Nego업무의 몰입"의 요인들은 전자무역 성과에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있다. 반면 "상역업무의 몰입"은 전자무역 성과에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있지 않다는 분석 결과가 나왔다. 본 연구에서 나타난 바와 같이 전자무역은 무역업체에게 유효한 효과가 있기 때문에 글로벌 전자무역과 시스템 개발에 노력해야 하며, 각 관련부처간의 시스템 연계의 통일화를 기해야 할 것이다.

Among various export financing, Assignment of Receivables is very important. Various countries make use of this method. But Korean law system had shortage of International legal system. This paper looks into Opposing Rights on Assignment of Receivables relation to legal system. And this paper analyze not only detail Korean civil law system about Opposing rights on Assignment of Receivables but also comparative other International system. There are UNIDROIT Principles and United Nations Convention on the Assignment of Receivables in International Trade. Especially, Korean civil law system of Opposing rights on Assignment of Receivables compares UNIDROIT Principles system of Opposing Rights on Assignment of Receivables or United Nations Convention on the Assignment of Receivables in International Trade of Opposing Rights on Assignment of Receivables. In the context, This paper compares Korean civil law system about Assignment of Receivables with International standard rule about Assignment of Receivables. This is good for the commercial practice party in terms of financing and receivable assignment. Thus this paper will make direction to International Trade Practicer. There are argument on method of having an action or manual about international trade practice. The purposes of this are to examine revitalizing on Assignment of Receivables. And this paper deals with improvement of International Commercial Activation.
