초음속 풍동에서 발생하는 충격파의 히스테리시스 현상에 관한 연구 (Study on the Hysteretic Behaviors of Shock Wave in a Supersonic Wind Tunnel)

  • 유체 유동 시스템에서 히스테리시스 현상은 다양한 산업 및 공학 응용 분야에서 발생하며, 최근 이에 대한 많은 연구가 수행되어 왔다. 이러한 현상은 주로 압력비가 일시적으로 변화하는 과정에서 발생하며 초음속 풍동에 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되나, 이에 대한 연구는 찾아보기 힘들다. 본 연구에서는 초음속 풍동 내부에서 발생하는 히스테리시스 현상을 수치해석으로 조사하였다. 비정상, 축대칭, 압축성 N-S 방정식을 유한 체적법으로 이산화 하였으며, 난류모델은 Spalart-Allmaras을 적용하였다. 본 연구의 결과로 전압의 증감에 따라, 동일한 압력비에서 발생하는 충격파의 위치가 다르게 나타났으며, 이를 통해 초음속 풍동을 효율적으로 작동시킬 수 있는 최적의 압력비를 찾을 수 있음을 알았다.

파랑중에서 전진동요하는 선박의 특이파수 억제에 관한 연구 (On the Removal of Irregular Frequencies in the Prediction of Ship Motion in Waves)

  • 선박 내항성능의 3차원적 해석을 위하여 3차원 판넬 방법을 이용한 쏘오스 분포법과 쏘오스-다이폴 분포법이 널리 이용되어 왔다. 그러나, 이 방법들을 이용하는 경우에는 내부 유동에 의한 자유표면의 공진현상에 의해 특이파수(irregular frequency)라고 불리는 파주파수에서 동유체력 계산에 큰 오차가 발생하게 되며 이런 현상을 제거하는 것은 정확한 내항성능 해석에 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 전진동요하는 선박의 운동 해석을 위하여 Wu등이 유도한 전진하면서 동요하는 Green 함수를 이용하였다. Green함수의 계산을 위하여는 어뎁티브(adaptive) 적분방법과 스트레칭(stretching) 변환 및 정류위상(stationary phase) 적분 방법을 사용하였으며 선체의 표면과 선체 내부 수선면에 특이점을 분포한 적분방정식을 도출하였다. 또한 2차원 문제를 다룬 Ohmatsu의 제안에 따라 내부 수선면에서 법선속도가 0이라는 조건을 이용하여 동요하는 문제의 불규칙파수 현상을 제거할 수 있었다. 계산은 Series 60($C_B=0.7$)에 대하여 수행되었으며 부가질량 계수, 감쇠 계수 및 파랑강제력에 대하여 기존의 연구 결과 및 실험 결과와 비교하였다.

한국어사에서 20세기 초 한국어의 위상과 문법 특징 (Historic Status and Grammatical Characteristics of Korean language in the Early 20th Century)

  • The early 20th century is a period of time when Korea confronted with the surging waves of modernization, and made a variety of internal reactions. The Korean language, not immune to the upheaval, also experienced new changes and gradually gained characteristics of today's Korean. Although scholars have not yet fully agreed upon the time division of Korean, Gabo reformation (1896) is usually considered to be the beginning of modern Korean. Thus, the early 20th century was also the beginning of modern Korean. Phonological, lexical, and grammatical characteristics of modern day Korean began to appear during this period of time. Phonologically, the 10 vowel system was established, glottal sounds and aspirated sounds increased, vowel harmony declined. Phenomena such as vowel raising, front-vowelization, monophthongization, and the word-initial rule appeared. Meanwhile, hangul-Chinese mix writing became common practice, and hangul-only writing also started to take place in narrative writing, and elements of spoken language began to reflect in written language. All those pointed to the unification of written and spoken language. Under the influence of modernization, a great amount of new words appeared. Especially, Japanese and other foreign words flooded in in great quantities. Grammatically, '-eos-(-엇-), -neun-(-는-), -ges-(-겟-)' trichotomy system of tenses was established, and hearer-oriented honorific system also formed a binary system of 'hasoseo(하소서), hasibsio(하십시오), hao(하오), hage(하게), haera(해라)' and 'hae (해), haeyo(해요)'. In word formation and sentence construction, the use of '-gi(-기)' became more frequent than '-eum(-음)', while '~geot(~것)' also significantly increased. In negative, causative and passive expressions, the use of long form, which has fewer restrictions than the short form, became more frequent. A tendency towards simplicity appeared. In the same vain, long and complex sentences with several clauses tend to be avoided. Instead, short simple sentences became more favorable. Korean linguistics scholars should pay closer attention to the modernization period, which includes the early 20th century. In order to fully understand today's Korean language, more thorough research on this immediately preceding period is necessary.

Feasibility Study of Submerged Floating Tunnels Moored by an Inclined Tendon System

  • Concepts of submerged floating tunnels (SFTs) for land connection have been continuously suggested and developed by several researchers and institutes. To maintain their predefined positions under various dynamic environmental loading conditions, the submerged floating tunnels should be effectively moored by reasonable mooring systems. With rational mooring systems, the design of SFTs should be confirmed to satisfy the structural safety, fatigue, and operability design criteria related to tunnel motion, internal forces, structural stresses, and the fatigue life of the main structural members. This paper presents a feasibility study of a submerged floating tunnel moored by an inclined tendon system. The basic structural concept was developed based on the concept of conventional cable-stayed bridges to minimize the seabed excavation, penetration, and anchoring work by applying tower-inclined tendon systems instead of conventional tendons with individual seabed anchors. To evaluate the structural performance of the new type of SFT, a hydrodynamic analysis was performed in the time domain using the commercial nonlinear finite element code ABAQUS-AQUA. For the main dynamic environmental loading condition, an irregular wave load was examined. A JONSWAP wave spectrum was used to generate a time-series wave-induced hydrodynamic load considering the specific significant wave height and peak period for predetermined wave conditions. By performing a time-domain hydrodynamic analysis on the submerged floating structure under irregular waves, the motional characteristics, structural stresses, and fatigue damage of the floating tunnel and mooring members were analyzed to evaluate the structural safety and fatigue performance. According to the analytical study, the suggested conceptual model for SFTs shows very good hydrodynamic structural performance. It can be concluded that the concept can be considered as a reasonable structural type of SFT.

신축이음용 벨로우즈의 거동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Behavioral Characteristics of Bellows for Expansion Joints)

  • Bellows are corrugated mechanical elements used to absorb displacements or vibrations caused by temperature changes, pressure, earthquakes, waves, etc., which are welded to flanges or directly connected to pipes. Expansion joint bellows must not only be designed to sufficiently withstand the internal pressure of the pipes but also accommodate axial, transverse, and rotational deformations to minimize the transfer of forces to the sensitive components of the system. Bellows have various types of corrugations, but U-type bellows are most commonly used in general piping systems. In this study, the behavior of U-shaped one-, two-, and three-ply bellows with the same inner diameter under pressure and forced displacement was analyzed using the finite element method. The results were compared with the design formula in the Expansion Joint Manufacturers Association (EJMA)'s code. Manufacturer data were used for the applied pressure and force displacement. The behavioral characteristics of the three cases were compared via structural analysis because the stress levels will be different for each model, even if they have the same inner diameter. Since the analytical model has an axisymmetric shape but displacement occurs in the transverse direction, the finite element model was composed of 1/2 of the whole model, and ANSYS Workbench 17.2 was employed for the analysis.

수치해석을 활용한 가스차단문의 폭발압력저항 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation on Blast-resistant of Gastight Door using Numerical Simulation)

  • 가스 취급 및 저장시설의 확충과 더불어 폭발의 규모가 다양해짐에 따라 사고를 대비한 방폭 설비 관련 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 방폭 인증시험 대상 설비 중 하나인 가스차단문은 폭풍파나 내부 화재로 인한 팽창압력을 차단하는 동시에 내부의 인원과 장비를 보호하는 역할을 한다. 현재 사용되는 가스차단문은 방폭성능 인증시험 대상 설비임에도 방폭 설계 관련 규정이 명확히 제시되지 않고 있으며 해당 설비의 폭발압력저항성능평가에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 미국재료시험협회(ASTM)에서 제시하는 가스차단문 규격에 관한 규정(ASTM F-1069-87, F-1068-90)을 참고하여 가스차단문을 3D 형상으로 모델링하고 ANSYS Explicit Dynamics 해석을 통해 기준 대비 가스차단문의 영구적 변형량을 비교하였다. 또한, 방폭 설비 관련 연구에서 사용되고 있는 회전연성도·변위연성도 계산을 통한 방폭성능 평가 방법을 함께 고려하여 가스차단문의 수치해석적 폭발압력저항 성능평가를 수행하였다.

  • 음향은 수중에서 원거리 전파가 가능하여 수심 측량, 수중 물체 탐지, 수중 통신, 유속 측정 등 다방면에서 해양관측에 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 해저면 계류형태의 압력측정 전도음향측심기(Pressure-recording Inverted Echo Sounder, PIES)를 활용하여 관측 가능한 해양물리현상(해류, 중규모 소용돌이, 내부파, 해면고도변화 등)에 대해 서술한다. 이어서 PIES장비 회수 없이 음향을 활용한 원격 자료획득법, 자동 자료전송 팝업 부표(Pop-up Data Shuttle, PDS)를 활용한 최신의 원격 자동자료획득법을 소개하고, 향후 실현 가능한 (준)실시간 원격 자동자료획득법을 덧붙인다.

국립기상과학원 Argo 사업의 현황 및 추진 방향 (Current Status and Future Direction of the NIMS/KMA Argo Program)

  • In order to improve the predictability of marine high-impacts weather such as typhoon and high waves, the marine observation network is an essential because it could be rapidly changed by strong air-sea interaction. In this regard, the National Institute of Meteorological Sciences, Korea Meteorological Administration (NIMS/KMA) has promoted the Argo float observation program since 2001 to participate in the International Argo program. In this study, current status and future direction of the NIMS/KMA Argo program are presented through the internal meeting and external expert forum. To date, a total of 264 Argo floats have been deployed into the offshore around the Korean Peninsula and the Northwestern Pacific Ocean. The real-time and delayed modes quality control (QC) system of Argo data was developed, and an official regional data assembling center (call-sign 'KM') was run. In 2002, the Argo homepage was established for the systematic management and dissemination of Argo data for domestic and international users. The future goal of the NIMS/KMA Argo program is to improve response to the marine high-impacts weather through a marine environment monitoring and observing system. The promotion strategy for this is divided into four areas: strengthening policy communication, developing observation strategies, promoting utilization research, and activating international cooperation.

하계 동중국해 북부 해역에서의 해수 혼합 (Mixing of Sea Waters in the Northern Part of the East China Sea in Summer)

  • 하계 동중국해 북부 대륙붕 해역에서 해수 혼합을 연구하기 위하여 2005년 8월과 2006년 8월에 한국해양연구원 연구선 이어도호를 이용하여 해수 물성 및 난류 관측을 수행하였다. 유속 변형으로부터 산출한 난류운동에너지 소산율은 표층에서 $10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-4}$, 저층에서 $10^{-7}{\sim}10^{-6}$와 수온약층에서 $10^{-7}$ W/kg의 높은 값이 나타났다. 관측 자료는 표층의 경우 바람에 의해 지속적으로 혼합이 이루어짐을 보여주었다. 수온약층 하부에서의 높은 소산율은 내부파의 영향으로 판단된다. 저층의 높은 소산율은 저층의 탁도 분포의 경향과 일치하여 조류에 의한 해저면층 교란의 결과임을 시사해주었다. 바닥에서의 연직확산계수는 낮은 안정도와 높은 난류상태의 복합적인 영향으로 $10^{-3}{\sim}10^{-2}m^2/s$로 높은 값이 나타났다.

배관내 압력변동 신호를 이용한 유량 추정 방법 연구 (A Study on Flow Rate Estimation Using Pressure Fluctuation Signals in Pipe)

  • In nuclear power plants, the flow rate information is a major indicator of the performance of rotating equipment such as pumps, and is a very important one required for facility operation and maintenance. To measure a flow rate, various types of methods have been developed and used. Among them, the differential pressure type using orifice and the direct doppler type using ultrasonic waves are the most commonly used. However, these flow rate measurement methods have limitations in installation, conditions and status of the measuring part, etc. To solve this problem, we have studied a new technique for measuring flow rate from scratch. In this paper, we have devised a technique to estimate the flow rate using an average moving velocity of large-scale eddy in turbulence that occurs in the piping flow field. The velocity of the large-scale eddy can be measured using the pressure fluctuation signals on the inner surface of the pipe. To estimate the flow rate, at first a cross-correlation function is applied to the two pressure fluctuation signals located at different positions in the down stream for calculating the time delay between the moving eddies. In order to validate the proposed flow rate estimation method, CFD analyses for the internal turbulence flow in pipe are conducted with a fixed flow condition, where the pressure fluctuation signals on the pipe inner surface are simulated. And then the average flow velocity of the large scale eddy is to be estimated. The estimated flow velocity is turned out to be similar to the fixed (known) flow rate.
