A study on dynamic behavior of bidirectional SMA Actuator with forced-cooling (강제공냉 차동식 형상기억합금 액츄에이터의 동작특성에 관한 연구)

  • In the recent years, as the research and the development of micro and precision machinery become active, the interest of micro actuators using SMA(Shape Memory Alloy) has been increased. The dynamic characteristic analysis of SMA is necessary for actuator application and many common researches report the material characteristics of SMA sufficiently. However, the research on dynamic characteristics is very deficient. In this paper, the helical spring are fabricated with NiTi SMA wire of high resistivity. The force, response speed, temperature, and displacement are measured by digital force gauge, infrared thermometer, and laser displacement sensor so that the dynamic characteristics of this SMA is analyzed. Also, bidirectional actuator was fabricated and experimented fir its performance.

  • According to the demand of high productivity, the interest of manufacturing skills is growing in the industrial society. Especially the long spindle becomes important these days. The rotating accuracy of the spindle concerns the centrifugal force. In detail explaining, it is influenced by the speed of the spindle. In this study, we would show changes of the distance caused by a rotating speed of the spindle using a software, $ADAMS^{(R)}$. And because of the gravity of the spindle's mass, we would find the static droop of the long spindle.

  • Analyzing internal structure, flow rate and dynamic behavior characteristics of electronically controlled shock absorber, damping performance limit is identified to comprise the two reciprocal characteristics of ride comfort and handling safety. Regardless of its lower performance than the active suspension control system, the semi-active suspension control system has been taking interest because of its absolutely higher performance than passive suspension system. Since the pervious studies have been concentrated mostly on analytic aspect and survey on the internal structure of the shock absorber remain insufficient, the main discourse of this paper is focused on analyzing the nonlinear shock absorber which varies the damping force of semi-active suspension system and the dynamic characteristics of the solenoid valve, a sort of pressure valve, and proposing the design factors of importance.

  • The movement of human beings - walking, running, jumping and climbing, etc. - have long been of scientific interest. In particular, the science of human walking is called gait analysis. Various instruments have been developed to assist in the study of human gait. Recently gait analysis techniques are used in medical research to investigate the abnormalities of pathological gait. In this study, we constructed a comprehensive gait analysis system consisting of a walkway, a force platform, foot-switches and an ExpertVision motion analysis system. Time-distance gait parameters and vector diagrams can be analyzed by a special application program called Force Analysis System(FOANAS). Using quantitative discrimination of this system, the gait characteristic parameters of normal and pathological gait is facilitated.

  • Recently, the interest of the high speed railway train is increased. Because it is energy-conserving and largely independent of fuel oil, an electric train is environmental friendly. In this paper we designed the eddy current brake for simulator of the Korean High Speed Railway Train(hereafter KHRT). Braking force and normal force according to current and speed are calculated.

  • The main purpose of this study was to develop a useful method for analysing slope stability by seepage force. The stability of an embankment impounding a water reservoir is highly depend upon the location of seepage line with the embankment, it is important to illustrate the seepage phenomenon. Of particular interest is the stability following a rapid rise change of reservoir level. Seepage forces in embankments are easily determined if frictional forces are expressed in relation to hydraulic gradient i. Seepage forces can combine with soil weights to improve stability or worsen it, depending on the direction in which the forces act ;n relation to the geometric cross section.

  • Recently, technologies for internet of things have been rapidly advanced with development of network. Also interest in smart healthcare that informs about motion information of users has been growing. In this paper, a system that is monitoring the weight on both feet by using aduino and FSR(Force Sensitive Resistor) Sensor is implemented. A 4-channel sensor driver module was implemented to measure a more accurate weight value. It is monitoring the weight on both feet by the using an application for either your PC or mobile device. Mobile applications can contribute to reducing human damage by sending messages along with location in emergency situations, such as injuries caused by falls during outdoor activities.

  • Recently, the quality of products after the corresponding machining processes were scrutinized in the interest of maintaining a high product-quality standard. The structure and stability of machine tools are important for the prediction of product quality. A structural analysis needs to be carried out to achieve the stable design of machine tools before the initial design stage in the manufacturing process of a precision product. In this study, a structural analysis was carried out using a finite element analysis (FEA) simulation to obtain the design stability of the main parts of a grinding machine. The sizes and locations of both the maximum stress and deformation in consideration of the cutting force of the chuck, tail stock, and bearing of the grinding machine were analyzed. Finally the grinding machine was successfully developed.
