  • Among the properties of new media art works, interaction with audience has now become a big issue, and its influence to general arts, in particular media art, is being stressed more and more. Under the this influence, various experimental works using digital media are being produced and having a try to combination of art and multimedia technology on the network. This paper analyses studies about netart and suggests visualization expression of color data to be interactive between users and art works. The work is to make formative elements based fluid shapes on the analysis of color data extracted from images. This is a new experiment in picturesque expression of data and aesthetic visualization of data.

  • The vlda is an R (R Development Core team et al., 2011) package which provides functions for visualization of multidimensional longitudinal data. In particular, the R package vlda was developed to assist in producing a plot that more effectively expresses changes over time for two different types (long format and wide format) and uses a consistent calling scheme for longitudinal data. The main features of this package allow us to identify the relationship between categories and objects using an indicator matrix with object information, as well as to cluster objects. The R package vlda can be used to understand trends in observations over time in addition to identifying relative relationships at a simple visualization level. It also offers a new interactive implementation to perform additional interpretation, therefore it is useful for longitudinal data visual analysis. Due to the synergistic relationship between the existing VLDA plot and interactive features, the user is empowered by a refined observe the visual aspects of the VLDA plot layout. Furthermore, it allows the projection of supplementary information (supplementary objects and variables) that often occurs in longitudinal data of graphs. In this study, practical examples are provided to highlight the implemented methods of real applications.

  • The Qis visualizational spreadsheet environment is shown to be extremely effective in supporting the organized visualization of multi-dimensional data sets. The Qis consists of the reconfigurative 2D arrangement of spreadsheet elements at run time and each spreadsheet element has a novel framestack. As the feature, it supports 3D data structure of each element on the Qis. It enables the visualization spreadsheet to effectively manage, rapidly organize, and compactly encapsulate multi-dimensional data sets for visualization. Using several experiments with scientific users, the Qis has been demonstrated to be a highly interactive visual browsing tool for the analysis of multidimensional data, displaying 2D and 3D graphics, and rendering in each frame of the spreadsheet.

Developing Interactive Simulator for Predicting Volcanic Ash (실시간 대화형 화산재 확산 예측 시스템 개발)

  • According to the analysis of volcanic observation data around Korean peninsula, the activities of volcano increase continuously. For example, the volcanic eruption of Mt. Sakurajima is an example, and Mt. Baekdu can be another example potentially. In these regards, developing unified system including realtime prediction and 3D visualization of volcano ash are important to prepare the volcanic disaster systematically. In this technical report, an interactive simulator embedding dispersion algorithm and 3D visualization engine is developed. This system can contribute to the realtime prediction of volcanic disaster scientifically.

  • The music with the times, evolved from analogous tape music to digital music. New authoring tools, interfaces, and applications make us to produce high quality music using cheap equipments. Inspired by this concept, we design an classical chinese style-instrument with the audio-visual interactive function. It enables a user to compose music and to see a vivid picture at the same time.

  • 본 논문에서는 HTML5 기반의 대화형 스키점프 시각화 도구를 소개한다. 스키점프의 비거리는 다양한 요소에 영향을 받지만 받음각에 따른 양력과 항력의 비인 양항비에 의해 크게 결정된다. 본 논문에서는 스키의 벌림각, 구부린 각 등을 면적 계수로 두고 물리적인 2차원 좌표를 계산하여 시각화한다. 사용자의 상호작용성을 위하여 각 계수나 영향 요소를 조정할 수 있게 하여 실시간으로 스키점퍼의 자세와 비거리를 확인할 수 있게 하였다. 또한 구현 결과는 웹기반에서 동작하여 사용자의 접근성과 모델 변경에 따른 용이성을 제공한다. 본 논문의 결과물은 스키점프 경기력 향상을 위한 분석 도구로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • In this paper, we propose "InFra-VC", an interactive Fractal viewer on virtual reality system. Fractal impresses us very much and is expected to model some natural phenomenon effectively. Therefore, their visualization is necessary for us to study their beauty as well as structure. InFra-VC can represents a cutting plane of the fractal figure, so that the user can see and enjoy its internal structure. Moving position of the cutting surface, we can easily understand its internal structure. Additionally, InFra-VC can store situation as VRML format file at any time. This feature enables us to see the structure by a VRML viewer on common PC.
