  • Fuzzy Neural Network (FNN) is a compulsory element in a voice-controlled machine due to its inherent capability of interpreting imprecise natural language commands. To control such a machine, user's perception of imprecise words is very important because the words' meaning is highly subjective. This paper presents a voice based controller centered on an adaptable FNN to capture the user's perception of imprecise words.   • Hybrid machine is based on hardware technologies of machine tool and software technologies of open architecture controller. In machining technology, combination technology of turning, milling, and grinding and in machining energy technology. combination of mechanical, electrical, and chemical technology are developed. This paper describes hybrid machine technology for combination of machining, on-machine measurement, on-machine CAM, and on-machine remote monitoring and control in open architecture controller environment. For on-machine measurement, non-contact measurement technology based on CAD information is developed. For on-machine CAM, interactive CAM program for automatic NC program generation and tool path simulation is developed. For generation on-machine remote monitoring and control, suitable interface method between web program and CNC is proposed. The developed hybrid machine technology is implemented in 3 axes milling machine for evaluation of operablity.

  • In this paper, a self-tunning fuzzy inference technique for stabilization of the inverted pendulum system is proposed. The facility of this self-tunning fuzzy controller which has swing-up control mode and a stabilization one, moves a pendulum in an initial natural stable equilibrium point and a cart in arbitrary position, to an unstable equilibrium point and a center of rail. Specially, the virtual equilibrium point(${\phi}_{VEq}$) which describes functionally considers the interactive dynamics between a position of cart and a angle of inverted pendulum is introduced. And comparing with the convention optimal controller, the proposed self-tunning fuzzy inference structure made substantially the inverted pendulum system robust and stable.

  • Solar power systems have become popular in the modem electric energy system. In order to supply the DC power, generated by solar cells, to the electric power system, the solar power system requires DC-to-AC power conversion. A line-commutated inverter or a forced-commutated inverter can be used in the DC-to-AC power conversion. Because of the nonlinear V-I characteristics of the solar cells, multiple operating points determined by the control mode of the inverter exist in the DC V-I state plane of the solar power system. In this paper, the stability of utility-interactive solar power system with a line-commutated inverter is analyzed at various operating points, using the eigenvalue method and the state-plane analysis technique. The stability of a forced-commutated inverter case is also anaiyzed and compared to that of the line-commutated inverter case.

  • This paper is proposed that the photovoltaic/fuel cell hybrid generation system for the stand-alone system. In case of the photovoltaic generation system, it depends on the weather condition, irradiation and so on... On the contrary, fuel cell has not this limitation. It can be interactive generation system between photovoltaic and fuel cell. This paper simulated stand-alone co-generation system based on the control of DC link. Moreover, 1[kw] BLDC motor system with speed and hysteresis current controller is used for the proposed system.

  • With significant development of power electronics technology, the proliferation of nonlinear loads such as static power converters has deteriorated power quality in power transmission and distribution systems. Notably, voltage harmonics resulting from current harmonics produced by the nonlinear loads have become a serious problem in many countries. Many photovoltaic power generation systems installed in building systems have harmonics that are the worst object for distribution systems as a utility interactive system, and it tends to spread out continuously. Proposed and implemented in this paper is a multi-function inverter control strategy that allows a shunt active filter function to the power inverter of the photovoltaic power generation system established on a building system. The effectiveness of the proposed system is demonstrated through the simulation of a hypothetical power system using PSCAD/EMTDC.

POMDP 기반 사용자-로봇 인터랙션 행동 모델 (POMDP-based Human-Robot Interaction Behavior Model)

  • This paper presents the interactive behavior modeling method based on POMDP (Partially Observable Markov Decision Process) for HRI (Human-Robot Interaction). HRI seems similar to conversational interaction in point of interaction between human and a robot. The POMDP has been popularly used in conversational interaction system. The POMDP can efficiently handle uncertainty of observable variables in conversational interaction system. In this paper, the input variables of the proposed conversational HRI system in POMDP are the input information of sensors and the log of used service. The output variables of system are the name of robot behaviors. The robot behavior presents the motion occurred from LED, LCD, Motor, sound. The suggested conversational POMDP-based HRI system was applied to an emotional robot KIBOT. In the result of human-KIBOT interaction, this system shows the flexible robot behavior in real world.

  • This paper introduces a grid-interactive storage system to operate the customers without voltage source inverters as a microgrid. The proposed storage system does not require any modification of the control scheme of the inverters existing within the customers. Novel control scheme of the grid-interfacing storage system according to its new structure ensures the seamless transition between the grid-connected and islanded operation of the microgrid.

  • Driving simulators are used effectively for human factor study, vehicle system development and other purposes by enabling to reproduce actural driving conditions in a safe and tightly controlled enviornment. Interactive simulation requries appropriate sensory and stimulus cuing to the driver . Sensory and stimulus feedback can include visual , auditory, motion, and proprioceptive cues. A fixed-base driving simulator has been developed in this study for vehicle system developmnet and human factor study . The simulator consists of improved and synergistic subsystems (a real-time vehicle simulation system, a visual/audio system and a control force loading system) based on the motion -base simulator, KMU DS-Ⅰ developed for design and evaluation of a full-scale driving simulator and for driver-vehicle interaction.
