Alkyl and alkenyl substituent effects on nonbonded interactions of hexatriene were examined using CNDO/2 method. The results showed that: (1) rapid rate of thermal electrocyclization of 3-vinyl hexa-1, 3, 5-triene is due to increased overlap population between atom pair reacting resulting from strong electron repelling interaction of vinly group on the triene moiety; (2) stability of a conformer is determined by additive effect of composite ${\pi}$ structures; (3) a substituent on positions 2 and 3 increases the HOMO AO coefficient of sites 1 and 4 considerably and activates interactions with these sites.

Motivation: Protein-protein interaction plays a critical role in the biological processes. The identification of interacting proteins by bioinformatical methods can provide new lead In the functional studies of uncharacterized proteins without performing extensive experiments. Results: Protein-protein interactions are predicted by a computational algorithm based on the weighted scoring system for domain interactions between interacting protein pairs. Here we propose potential interaction domain (PID) pairs can be extracted from a data set of experimentally identified interacting protein pairs. where one protein contains a domain and its interacting protein contains the other. Every combinations of PID are summarized in a matrix table termed the PID matrix, and this matrix has proposed to be used for prediction of interactions. The database of interacting proteins (DIP) has used as a source of interacting protein pairs and InterPro, an integrated database of protein families, domains and functional sites, has used for defining domains in interacting pairs. A statistical scoring system. named "PID matrix score" has designed and applied as a measure of interaction probability between domains. Cross-validation has been performed with subsets of DIP data to evaluate the prediction accuracy of PID matrix. The prediction system gives about 50% of sensitivity and 98% of specificity, Based on the PID matrix, we develop a system providing several interaction information-finding services in the Internet. The system, named PreDIN (Prediction-oriented Database of Interaction Network) provides interacting domain finding services and interacting protein finding services. It is demonstrated that mapping of the genome-wide interaction network can be achieved by using the PreDIN system. This system can be also used as a new tool for functional prediction of unknown proteins.
Although there have been studies regarding the influence of customer reviews on consumer decision making at online shopping sites, research on factors affecting the perceived customer review quality for online shopping sites is limited. This study posits that sociability, which is one of the environmental factors of an online shopping site, can affect the quality of customer reviews. Sociability is a key factor in building a collaborative environment online, but studies have been limited to applying sociability to customer reviews that are the result of a collaborative environment. This study expects that sociability affects the performance of online shopping sites through the perceived information quality of customer reviews, and customers' efficacy. More specifically this study investigates the structural relationship between sociability, self-efficacy, collective efficacy, and the perceived information quality of the reviews in an online shopping context, regarding the patronage intention of customers. This study was conducted using a survey of 361 college students. The structural equation model results indicate that user perception of sociability increases self-efficacy and collective efficacy. The improved efficacy enhances the perceived information quality of reviews for online shopping sites, which increases patronage intention of customers. This study found that online shopping sites require a platform for customers to engage in social interaction to enhance their customers' loyalty and lifetime value.
Interactive storytelling is a scenario created "on the fly" with digital content through user interaction. Every time interaction occurs between the user and content, a brand new story is created. Interaction intrigues people because it provides different story from same content. Through conventional media, people shared same content and experience. However through interactive media, people encounter unique experience, over same content possibly everytime they use it. People we, by their nature, very interactive being. However, interacting with media is not an activity that people are accustomed to. Hence, designing content has been all migrating experience from existing media to an unfamiliar ground. Unique and adoptive ways of designing content for digital interactive media is being sought out from the need as the result of the evolution of integrated society and emerging information technology. People are already used to some of interactive storytelling through hyper text in CD-ROM and web sites. More complicated and different structured models were born through games that offered graphics, virtual spaces and interactivity. When drawn onto a structural graph, few attributes and similarities seem to occur. This paper will try to outline and discuss structural graphs of interactive storytelling methods and suggest some ways for better storytelling design.
Binding of sulfaethidole to bovine serum albumin was studied by equilibrium dialysis, fluorescence probe technique, uv difference spectrophotometry and circular dichroism. Equilibrium dialysis method enabled us to estimate the total number of drug binding sites of albumin molecule. For sulfaethidole, albumin had 6 primary and 40 secondary binding sites. The primary and secondary binding constants were 0.9 * 10/sup 5/ M/sup -1/ and 0.2 * 10/sup 6/ M/sup -1/, respectivitely. 1-Anilino-8-naphthalenesulfonate (ANS) and 2-(4-hydroxylbenzeneazo)- benzoic acid (HBAB) were used as the fluorescence probe and the uv spectrophotometric probe, respectively. In fluorescence probe technique, results indicated that the number of higher affinity drug binding site of albumin was 1 and the number of lower affinity drug binding sites of albumin was 3, and the primary and secondary drug binding constants for bovine serum albumin were 2.15 * 10/sup 5/M/sup -1/ and 1.04 * 10/sup 5/ M/sup -1/, respectively. In uv difference spectrophotometry, binding sites were 3 and binding constant was 1.88 * 10/sup 5/M/sup -1/. The above spectrophotometry, binding sites were 3 and binding constant was 1.88 * 10/sup 5/M/sup -1/. The above results suggest that several different methods should be used in ompensation for insufficient information about drug binding to albumin molecule given by only one method.

This study examines the influence of product classification standards and structure on user perception as well as their attitude towards online shopping sites. The causal relationships of variables are also examined. The analysis was based on an online survey with 247 responses. Four types of internet shopping sites were developed and used as a stimulus. The results of the mean comparison analysis indicated that perceived variety, information overload, perceived shopping value and attitude towards the site varies significantly with product classification standards and structure. There was also of a marginally significant interaction between the classification standard and structure on perceived variety and information overload. The causal relationship analysis revealed that perceived variety positively influenced hedonic and utilitarian shopping value. However, information overload had a negative effect on hedonic and utilitarian shopping value. Both the hedonic and utilitarian shopping value positively influenced attitudes towards the sites. This study demonstrates that classification method influences customer perception and attitude. It offers interesting insights on a product classification method as a strategic tool for online shopping.
The mechanism of interaction of cyanocobalamin (CB) with bovine serum albumin (BSA) has been investigated by spectrofluorometric and circular dichroism methods. Association constant for the CB-BSA system showed that the interaction is non-covalent in nature. Binding studies in the presence of an hydrophobic probe, 8-anilino-l-naphthalene sulphonic acid, sodium salt (ANS) showed that there is hydrophobic interaction between CB and ANS and they do not share common sites in BSA. Stern-Volmer analysis of fluorescence quenching data showed that the fraction of fluorophore (protein) accessible to the quencher (CB) was close to unity indicating thereby that both tryptophan residues of BSA are involved in drug-protein interaction. The rate constant for quenching, greater than $10^{10}$$M^{-1}$$s^{-1}$, indicated that the drug binding site is in close proximity to tryptophan residue of BSA. Thermodynamic parameters obtained from data at different temperatures showed that the binding of CB to BSA involves hydrophobic bonds predominantly. Significant increase in concentration of free drug was observed for CB in presence of paracetamol. Circular dichroism studies revealed the change in helicity of BSA due to binding of CB to BSA.
Purpose: This study was done to develop a video discharge education program focusing on mother-infant interaction to facilitate the development of maternal role confidence for mothers of premature infants. Methods: The process of the program was based on the Network-based Instructional System Design suggested by Jung (1999). For the content of the program, needs and concerns of mothers of premature infants found on web sites and existing literature were analyzed. Based on this content, the scenario and the video were developed. Nurses and mothers of premature infants participated in the process of testing the content validity, scenario development, and evaluation of final video production. The final video has two parts and lasts 21 minutes. The first part focuses on mother-premature infant interaction and the second part focuses on health management of infants. Results: Eleven mothers of premature infants participated in the evaluation of the appropriateness of the video as a teaching method and for educational content. They reported that the content on mother-infant interaction, maternal sensitivity, and maternal role confidence was especially beneficial. Conclusion: The findings indicate that video program is effective for education on maternal-premature infant interaction and the use of video in practical settings is strongly recommended.
In this study, inelastic displacement ratios are investigated for existing systems with known lateral strength considering soil structure interaction. For this purpose, SDOF systems for period range of 0.1-3.0 s with different hysteretic behaviors are considered for a number of 18 earthquake motions recorded on soft soil. The effect of stiffness degradation on inelastic displacement ratios is investigated. The Modified Clough model is used to represent structures that exhibit significant stiffness degradation when subjected to reverse cyclic loading and the elastoplastic model is used to represent non-degrading structures. Soil structure interaction analyses are conducted by means of equivalent fixed base model effective period, effective damping and effective ductility values differing from fixed-base case. For inelastic time history analyses, Newmark method for step by step time integration was adapted in an in-house computer program. A new equation is proposed for inelastic displacement ratio of system with SSI with elastoplastic or degrading behavior as a function of structural period ($\tilde{T}$), strength reduction factor (R) and period lengthening ratio ($\tilde{T}$/T). The proposed equation for $\tilde{C}_R$ which takes the soil-structure interaction into account should be useful in estimating the inelastic deformation of existing structures with known lateral strength.
