The purpose of this article is to propose an alternative viewpoint on medical education, known as the Erudition paradigm. This study aims to confirm the essence of erudition rather than teaching and learning through discussing the foundations of self-directed learning principles in medical education. By reactivating the meaning of self-directed learning, this study debates the proprieties of the erudition paradigm beyond pedagogy; that is to say, the school-oriented educational paradigm. After all, this study reveals that all humans are Homo Eruditio, born with an erudite instinct, and it is necessary to inspire his/her encouragement in erudition by using self-directed learning.

It aims to understand how the time can be expressed in architecture from viewpoints of Oriental and Western philosophy. We just have done sporadic studies such as historical time, physical time, specific time, time as the space-time continuum and appreciation time. It`s impossible to find out that time exactly is since `time` is ambiguous. Because the meaning is formed newly by relational changes between visible and invisible existing thing. In such point of view, this study attempts at analyzing the inter-relationship between the art, music, architecture and time-concept in oriental and western philosophy. A comparative study follows : Time can be classified into the linear concept of time & the cyclic concept of time in an agricultural civilization and oriental philosophy. Linear concept of time can be divided into 1)the inevitable concept of time and 2)the 4-dimensional concept of time and 3) the indefinite concept of time.

For human factor engineering and wearable robot design, the quantitative assessment of physical workload is needed. Through measuring the surface EMG (sEMG) and analysis, the physical workload in overhead lifting posture is presented in quantitative manner. By normalizing sEMG activities with maximal voluntary contraction (MVC), the inter-subject variability is reduced. In all muscles, %MVC increased as the weight of lifting object increases. In anterior deltoid muscle, the %MVC was 3-4 times higher than the other muscles which imply that this muscle performs the major role in the overhead lifting posture. In fatigue analysis, %MVC and the mean frequency in muscle of anterior deltoid changed markedly when compared with other muscles. Through the suggested procedures and analysis, the physical workload for a specific posture can be represented in quantitative way but the clinical meaning for the value should be investigated further.

Purpose. The purpose of this study was to obtain a clearer understanding of spirituality and examine the process of spirituality through defining the meaning and attributes of spirituality. Method. Concept analysis was done in the three phases, theoretical phase, fieldwork phase, and analytical phase suggested in the Hybrid Model. Five people participated in the fieldwork phase. Results. Spirituality is activated through self-awareness which occurs as spirit being activated through self-introspection, and through restoration of the relationship with Supreme Being. This interconnectedness with Supreme Being has an absolute impact on one's harmonious interconnectedness with self and neighbors, thus leads all the critical attributes of spirituality to be revealed. The core energy of this harmonious inter-connectedness is love. When activated, it has a great impact on an individual as integrative energy, leads one to go beyond everyday experience as well as to have new perspectives, and to live a satisfactory life in every aspect. Conclusion. The results of this study suggest that promotion of connectedness is the most important element in spiritual nursing interventions. The results can also be used effectively in developing spirituality assessment scales and theory.

Reviewing the meaning aid task of balance of regional development, this papa examines the causes of the underdevelopment of rural areas in relation to the urbanization process, probes the concept, principle and necessity of rural community development, and suggests the policy tasks for rural community development in the perspective of regionally balanced development. Since 1960's, Korea has pursued a growth-oriented economic policy. The focus on the aggregated growth, however, has resulted bo invite some regional disparity problems. In the process of development, regional disparity problems were quite a large rural areas compared with urban areas relatively. The under-development of rural areas is deeply correlated with the overcrowding (or overconcentration) phenomena of urban(or metropolitan) areas. The urban-biased policy is the primary cause of the deepening regional imbalance structure between urban and rural areas. The inter-regions equitable and well-balanced development is one of the national policy issues by which the government is confronted, since the issue is closely related with national quality of life. Main three policy tasks for rural community development were 'the new paradigm of development policy' , 'local-oriented policy' and 'human-oriented policy'.

Laodiceanism is the blueprint from which Hardy draws one of his most ingenuous effects: the creating of a Laodicean around which the novel constructs its ambiguity. Hardy's command of "ingenuity" joins both the leading heroine Paula and the minor character Dare into the same category of a Laodicean. Alongside Paula, Dare is the most important ingredient in the novel in that he acts as an enigmatic persona defying the reader's attempts to establish a coherent type. This paper aims to offer a close reading of Dare's life story, which is chosen for discussion as he has been deemed as a simple functionary and thus apparently escaped serious critical notice thus far. It is stressed that the structure of sensations Dare embodies is fascinating in the sense that it is a locus where the coexistence of both meaning and nonmeaning would not amount to harmonious peace or stability so much as permits the impossibility of single and central significance. In this coexistence is inscribed a notion that the binaries in opposition are endlessly inter-mingled in dialogic tension, which is the hallmark of Laodiceanism that Hardy aims to present through the creation of Dare.

News in the form of web data generates increasingly large amounts of information as unstructured text. The capability of understanding the meaning of news is limited to humans; thus, it causes information overload. This hinders the effective use of embedded knowledge in such texts. Therefore, Automatic Knowledge Extraction (AKE) has now become an integral part of Semantic web and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Although recent literature shows that AKE has progressed, the results are still behind the expectations. This study proposes a method to auto-extract surface knowledge from English news into a machine-interpretable semantic format (triple). The proposed technique was designed using the grammatical structure of the sentence, and 11 original rules were discovered. The initial experiment extracted triples from the Sri Lankan news corpus, of which 83.5% were meaningful. The experiment was extended to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) news dataset to prove its generic nature. This demonstrated a higher meaningful triple extraction rate of 92.6%. These results were validated using the inter-rater agreement method, which guaranteed the high reliability.

This paper investigates empirically the relationship between various business portfolio properties (particularly technological properties) and chaebol′s performance using data on the 50 largest chaebols in Korea. In addition to the traditional indexes to measure diversification such as entropy index we calculated inter-industry technological similarity using R&D expenditure data by industry and 1990 Input-output Table in Korea, and obtained chaebol-level technological relatedness and internal transaction proportion from chaebols′business profile, inter-industry technological similarity and 1990 input-output table. We applied factor analysis on 13 business portfolio property indexes and showed that they could be grouped into 3 dimensions, diversification scope, inter-business relatedness and degree of vertical integration. In this paper, using 50 largest chaebols′financial data (1989-1994), we analyzed empirically the effect of business portfolio properties on ROS (Return On Sales) which is conventional index for firm performance and on TFP(Total Factor Productivity) growth which is a pure measure of firm performance. To utilize the advantage of panel data, FEM(Fixed Effect Model) and REM(Random Effect Model) were used. The empirical result shows that the entropy index as a measurement of inter-business relatedness is not significant but technological relatedness index is significant. OLS estimates on pooled data were considerably different from FEM or REM estimates on panel data. By introducing interaction effect among the three variables for business portfolio properties, we obtained three findings. First, only VI (Vertical integration) has a significant positive correlation with ROS. Second, when using TFP growth as an dependent variable, both TR(Technological Relatedness) and f[ are significant and positively related to the deepened variable. Third, the interaction term between TR and VI is significant and negatively affects TFP growth, meaning that TR and VI are substitutes. These results suggest strategic directions on restructuring business portfolio. As VI is increased, chaebols will get more profit. A higher level of either TR or W will increase TFP growth rate. but increase in both TR and VI will have a negative effect on TFP growth. To summarize, certain business portfolio properties such as VI and TR can be considered "resources" themselves since they can affect profit rate and productivity growth. VI and TR have a synergy effect of change in profit rate and productivity growth. VI increases ROS and productivity growth, while TR increases productivity growth representing a technological synergy effect.

Amongst various methods of interpreting art, a understanding of the intention of artistic creation has been traditionally considered the most essential. Hermeneutics is the typical way of approaching it. With a focus on interpretation and understanding of the object, Hermeneutics delves into methodological techniques of interpretation and understanding of the existence of art from ancient Greece to the present. Nevertheless, from the Hermeneutic viewpoint, art as the object of interpretation is not free from social conditions and tradition; for this reason, interpretation of art basically has a socio-historical aspect. The starting point of this thesis is to examine the methods of understanding art from the socio-historical viewpoint. For this purpose, I study the theory of Hermeneutics as a basic of socio-historical interpretation of art, calling for methodology I need to justify inter-dependency of the epistemological viewpoint aid the ontological viewpoint in interpretation of art. Here, I suggest 'imputation(Zurechung)' and 'cycle(Zirkel)' as methodological concepts to support interdependency of these two viewpoints in Hermeneutics. Zurechung means explanation of meaning based upon the higher standard that includes to object of interpretation, while Zirkel means perception of part in order to understand the whole and, in turn, recognition of the whole in order to understand the part. These two concepts function inter-dependently in clarifying the object of interpretation and various problems of understanding human beings derived from it in the process of interpretation. This is also a key to the explanation that the object in social condition is closely related to historical perspective.

Therefore, work on the readers and writers are interactivity variety of ways to communication and effect relationship sincerity rise causes. This thesis at the interactivity are three ways to take advantage of the present work in the area of the author and sentimental self-image gain. First, the type of sentimental survey based on the rack at the interactivity to expand the city's area of representation, and second, through user existing types of active interaction in a variety of subjective interpretations allow us to escape, and Third, the interaction between the author and user way through the city to establish new forms of expression.
