  • This paper is concerned with applicability of intelligent PID controller which is proposed by Fliss and Join recently. First, we analyze the stability regions of intelligent PID control systems when parameter α is varying, and propose a new method to determine the suitable range of α by using the roots locus. Second, the simulation study of magneto-rheological (MR) damper to the structural vibrations due to earthquakes is presented to verify the effectiveness of the intelligent PID control method.

  • Many methods were proposed for insulation degradation diagnosis to High voltage and capacity Transformer in live. IDD is difficult by those methods because insulation degradation circumstances and characteristics of electrical plant are different with other Therefore, it is necessary to design diagnosis algorithms fitting for each. In this paper, We develop IIDS that used diagnosis algorithm with fuzzy model and hardware with MCU.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of an intelligent controller for continuous casting process. The proposed controller adopted a fuzzy control with feedback linearization. The simulation result shows that proposed intelligent controller is superior to the conventional PID controller.

  • We constructed an intelligent tutoring system that compose four devices i.e. intelligent interface, acqusition module, tutoring controller and tutorial knowledge. We implemented the intelligent tutoring system using prolog as an authoring language in the ultrix os under VAX-11/750, and we propose goal opriented tutoring system algorithm.

  • Studies on the intelligent vehicles that are converged with IT and vehicular technologies are currently under active discussion. A variety of communication technologies for safety intelligent vehicle services are support. As such intelligent vehicles use communication technologies, they are exposed to the diverse factors of security threats. To conduct intelligent vehicle security authentication solutions, there are some factors that can be adopted ownership, knowledge and biometrics[6,7]. This paper proposes to analyze the factors to threaten intelligent vehicle, which are usually intruded through communication network system and the security solution using biometric authentication scheme. This study proposed above user's biometrics information-based authentication scheme that can solve the anticipated problems with an intelligent vehicle, which requires a higher level of security than existing authentication solution.

  • This paper describes a humanoid robot's intelligent foot with two six-axis force/moment sensors. The developed humanoid robots didn't get the intelligent feet for walking on uneven surface safely. In order to walk on uneven surface safely, the robot should measure the reaction forces and moments applied on the sales of the feet, and they should be controlled with the measured the forces and moments. In this paper, an intelligent foot for a humanoid robot was developed. First, the body of foot was designed to be rotated the toe and the heel to all directions, second, the six-axis force/moment sensors were manufactured, third, the high-speed controller was manufactured using DSP(digital signal processor), fourth, the humanoid robot's intelligent foot was manufactured using the body of foot, two six-axis force/moment sensors and the high-speed controller, finally, the characteristic test of the intelligent foot was carried out. It is thought that the foot could be used for a humanoid robot.

  • This paper describes an intelligent service robot system for managing a store in an unmanned environment. The robot can be a good replacement for humans because it is possible to work all day and to remember lots of information. We design a system architecture for configuring many intelligent functions of intelligent service robot system which consists of four layers; a User Interaction Layer, a Behavior Scheduling Layer, a Intelligent Module Layer, and a Hardware Layer. We develop an intelligent service robot 'Part Timer' based on the designed system architecture. The 'Part Timer' has many intelligent function modules such as face detection-recognition-tracking module, speech recognition module, navigation module, manipulator module, appliance control module, etc. The 'Part Timer' is possible to answer the phone and this function gives convenient interface to users.
