초등과학영재의 창의적 두뇌 활성화를 위한 과학과 미술 통합 교수-학습 프로그램 개발 (Development of Integrated Science and Art Teaching-Learning Programs for the Improvement of Creative Brain Activity of Scientifically Gifted Elementary School Student)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop science and art integrated program to improve the creativity of scientifically gifted elementary school students. This study was to develop science and art integrated program to enhance the creativity of these subjects. This program was consisted of 30 lessons covering 10 topics. It was developed of five stages including the observation stage reflecting the characteristics of the right hemisphere relevant to creativity, the interest and curiosity stage, the experiment design and performing stage, the internalization stage, and the stage of expressing arts. This program was applied to 20 senior gifted students in Y Elementary School in Gyeonggi province. Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking(TTCT) was used in order to investigate and measure the effectiveness of the program before and after its use in class. The results of this study are as follows: First, this program showed results of significant improvement of creativity of scientifically gifted elementary school students after its use in class(p<.05). Second, it was significantly effective in increasing their creativity, especially in the subdomains such as originality, abstractness of title, and territory of resistance on hasty conclusions after its use in class(p<.05). Third, it was significantly effective to increase the Creativity Index that represents creative potential(p<.01). In particular, emotional expression, internalized visualization, unique visualization, and richness of the imagery emerged. This study implies that the science and art integrated program was closely related to the right hemisphere of the features enabling the subjects to create new ideas, new things, and new reactions. In addition, this program is expected to contribute to activate the brain areas of creativity for gifted students in the science field.

  • 이 연구에서는 2009 개정 교육과정에 의한 융합형 과학의 효과를 실증적으로 조사하기 위하여, 융합형 과학이 고등학교 1학년 학생들의 과학의 본성(NOS)과 STS에 대한 견해, 과학에 대한 흥미와 포부에 미친 영향을 조사하였다. 연구 대상은 서울특별시 소재 고등학교 1학년 학생 214명으로, 융합형 과학 이수 전후에 검사를 실시하였다. 분석결과, NOS에 대한 견해 점수는 융합형 과학의 이수 전후에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 그러나 NOS의 하위영역인 과학 지식의 임시성과 상상력의 사용의 경우에는 이수 후 검사 점수가 이수 전검사 점수에 비해 유의미하게 낮았다. STS에 대한 견해나 과학에 대한 흥미 및 포부에서는 융합형 과학 이수 전후의 검사 점수에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 이는 융합형 과학 이수가 학생들의 NOS와 STS에 대한 견해, 과학에 대한 흥미와 포부를 향상시키지 못하였음을 의미한다. 이에 대한 교육적 함의를 논의하였다.

Effect of Linker for Immobilization of Glutathione on BSA-Assembled Controlled Pore Glass Beads

  • Controlled pore glass bead was modified with bovine serum albumin (BSA), and glutathione (GSH) was immobilized through three kinds of linkers on top of BSA. Bis(3-sulfo-N-hydroxysuccinimide suberate) sodium salt $(BS^3)$, N-hydroxysuccinimide 3-(2-pyridyldithio)propionate (SPDP), or N-hydroxysuccinimide 4-maleimidobutyrate (GMBS) was introduced into the BSA-bound matrix. Subsequently, GSH was immobilized by addition of thiol side chain into the maleimido moiety, replacing a disulfide group, or formation of an amide group upon releasing 3-sulfo-N-hydroxysuccimide group. It was observed that conjugation methodology played a critical role for activity of the immobilized GSH. SDS-PAGE chromatogram showed that the matrix of glutathione immobilized on BSA through GMBS manifested high selectivity towards glutathione-S-transferase (GST) in cell lysate.

Classification of Colon Cancer Patients Based on the Methylation Patterns of Promoters

  • Diverse somatic mutations have been reported to serve as cancer drivers. Recently, it has also been reported that epigenetic regulation is closely related to cancer development. However, the effect of epigenetic changes on cancer is still elusive. In this study, we analyzed DNA methylation data on colon cancer taken from The Caner Genome Atlas. We found that several promoters were significantly hypermethylated in colon cancer patients. Through clustering analysis of differentially methylated DNA regions, we were able to define subgroups of patients and observed clinical features associated with each subgroup. In addition, we analyzed the functional ontology of aberrantly methylated genes and identified the G-protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway as one of the major pathways affected epigenetically. In conclusion, our analysis shows the possibility of characterizing the clinical features of colon cancer subgroups based on DNA methylation patterns and provides lists of important genes and pathways possibly involved in colon cancer development.

POS System Integrated with Cross-Platform for Supervision of Restaurant's

  • As the Restaurant industry is growing rapidly. The demand for an effortless POS (Point Of Sale) system which can make management easy is increasing. So, the purpose of this study is to digitalise the growing industry of restaurants and its consumers by utilizing cross-platform development. Crossplatform development frameworks provide great opportunities to solve the issues of handling ubiquitous devices with minimum efforts to reduce the cost and increase the stability, accessibility of the end consumers. By availing those opportunities, an Integrated POS system with cross platform is proposed. This integrated cross-platform POS system is originally designed for a single restaurant managed by its own private cloud server. This research solves the 2 major problems. One of them is the accessibility of the system on modern devices without even writing platform-specific code with the help of cross-platform development. This included web, mobile, desktops & tablets at the same time with the same codebase. Second one is handling data consistency with ubiquitous devices with the help of cloud infrastructure to make data safe and consistent more than ever. In the Development of this system Dart will be used as the primary programming language for cross-platform development. On the Cloud server system apache will be used as the web server and PHP as server side language. System will be using MySQL as the database server.

융합 인재 교육 경험을 가진 중등 과학 교사들의 공학적 설계에 대한 인식 탐색 (Exploring the Perception of Integrated STEAM Secondary Teachers on Engineering Design)

  • 본 연구는 융합 인재 교육 경험을 오랫동안 해 온 교사들의 공학적 설계에 대한 인식을 탐색한 것이다. 본 연구에 참여한 교사들은 융합 인재 교육 경험을 5년 이상 해 온 초·중등 교사 12명으로 진행하였으며, 반구조화된 인터뷰를 통해서 진행되었으며, 면담은 1~2회에 걸쳐 60~90분 정도로 진행되었다. 면담 질문은 융합 인재 교육 경험과 공학적 설계에 대한 인식, 공학적 설계의 교육과정 반영 여부, 공학적 설계를 도입한 융합 인재 교육의 실제사례 등을 중심으로 진행하였다. 본 연구의 결과로는 과학, 기술, 공학에 대한 개념의 동일시 그리고 혼재, 공학적 설계는 창의적 설계를 위해 필요한 요소들의 적절한 조합, 공학적 설계는 창의적 설계에 유용성과 경제성을 추구했을 때 가능, 공학적 설계는 이공계 진로를 선택한 학생들만을 위한 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 본 연구를 토대로 과학, 기술, 공학에 대한 올바른 개념을 정립하여 제시하고 과학적 문제 해결을 위한 공학적 설계에 대한 내용을 교육과정에 포함시키는 노력이 필요하다. 또한, 공학적 설계가 포함된 융합 인재 교육 프로그램을 개발하고 확산하여 현장에 적용해야 할 것이다. 이를 통해 교사와 예비 교사들의 과학, 공학 융합 프로그램과 공학적 설계에 대한 인식을 개선시킬 수 있는 구체적인 실행 방안을 모색해야 할 것이다.

  • This paper presents a case study on an integration between ERP and GIS solutions. Some expected advantages of each solution of the integrated system are discussed. We select an integrated system composed of SAP R/3 ERP and ESRI GIS solutions. The data and software integration (interface) framework are discussed, and finally some further studies are added.

  • This study presents the design of integrated safety, quality, and environmental information system based on the internet environment. Quality management system, environmental management system, and safety management system are adapted in many manufacturing and service organization respectively but those system does not work effectively. Especially safety management system and environmental management system are very similar with format and contents. Therefore, Those system must be integrated to increase effiency.

In this time, we make the system customer and user can confirm all of order information from one system to solve this problem by integrating the information brought from two systems on constructing integrated DataBase.

The work is practically founded on the authors' experience in performing the initial steps of implementation of some of such integrated systems for the construction industry.
