원칩 마이컴을 이용한 대용량 입력 인터페이스 시스템의 개발 (Development of a Large Quantity of Inputs Interface System Using a Single Chip microcontroller)

  • 본 논문은 대량의 입력 신호를 받아들이기에 부족한 수십 개의 입출력 포트를 가지는 저가의 8비트 원칩 마이크로 컨트롤러로 키패드 인터페이스 회로와 RS485통신을 이용하여 평면에 25mm의 간격으로 2차원적으로 균일하게 배치된 1600개의 대용량 스위치 입력 신호를 초당 10회의 실시간으로 PC로 읽어 들이고, 얻어진 스위치 정보의 물리적 패턴을 분석한 보행 분석실험의 실례를 들어 스텝분석이나 물리적인 입력의 패턴 분석이 필요한 각종 스포츠, 댄싱, 오락분야 혹은 대량의 스위치 및 센서 입력이 필요한 산업분야 등에 사용되어질 수 있음을 보이고자 한다.

패킷 음성/데이터 집적 단말기의 개발 (Development of an Integrated Packet Voice/Data Terminal)

  • 본 논문에서는 packet-switched network에서 음성을 서비스하는데 있어서 고려해야 할 여러가지 점들을 살펴보고, 실제로 음성과 데이터를 동시에 서비스하는 packet voice/data terminal을 구현하였으며 그 성능 분석을 시도하였다. PVDT의 software는 OSI 7 layer architecture에 맞추어 설계하였으며 음성과 데이터를 link level부터 구별하여 서비스하였다. 또한 음성 packet의 전송 delay를 작게 하기 위해 데이터보다 음성을 우선적으로 서비스하도록 하였으며 간략화된 protocol로 재전송에 의한 overhead를 없앴다. PVDT의 hardware의 구성은 기능별로 master control module, speech processing module, speech activity detection module, telelphone interface module, input/output inteface module로 나누어진다. Packet음성통신망에 대한 해석으로는 음성 packet의 전송 delay의 variance에 의한 영향을 줄이기 위한 최적 재생지연시간을 전송 delay의 분포를 통해 계산하였다.

A graphical user interface for stand-alone and mixed-type modelling of reinforced concrete structures

  • FormWorks-Plus is a generalized public domain user-friendly preprocessor developed to facilitate the process of creating finite element models for structural analysis programs. The lack of a graphical user interface in most academic analysis programs forces users to input the structural model information into the standard text files, which is a time-consuming and error-prone process. FormWorks-Plus enables engineers to conveniently set up the finite element model in a graphical environment, eliminating the problems associated with conventional input text files and improving the user's perception of the application. In this paper, a brief overview of the FormWorks-Plus structure is presented, followed by a detailed explanation of the main features of the program. In addition, demonstration is made of the application of FormWorks-Plus in combination with VecTor programs, advanced nonlinear analysis tools for reinforced concrete structures. Finally, aspects relating to the modelling and analysis of three case studies are discussed: a reinforced concrete beam-column joint, a steel-concrete composite shear wall, and a SFRC shear panel. The unique mixed-type frame-membrane modelling procedure implemented in FormWorks-Plus can address the limitations associated with most frame type analyses.

고속전철용 Event Recorder를 위한 제어 방식 개발 (Development of Control Method for Event Recorder in High Speed Train)

  • By storing various train information in running high speed train, we can analyze the cause of train accident efficiently. we have developed the smart and high available control method to control and manage the hardware modules. The hardware modules for event recorder consist CPU, Digital Input and Output, Pulse Input, Communication, Control Panel and Crash Protected Memory. The real time operation system is used to totally control and manage the various hardware modules. The main function of control method is collection of train information, calculation of train speed, interface with other on-board control system, storing and retrieving train information, and communication with Control Panel. In Control Panel, it displays the current train speed and the status of event recorder effectively. Also user interface is provided in Control Panel.

  • This paper presents a serial interface circuit that permits selection of the amount of data converted from serial-to-parallel and parallel-to-serial and overcomes the disadvantages of the conventional serial input/output interface. Based on the selected data length operating mode, 8 bit or 16 bit serial-to-parallel and 8 bit or 16 bit parallel-to-serial conversion takes place in data blocks of the selected data length.

  • HCI(human computer interface) technologies have been often implemented using mouse, keyboard and joystick. Because mouse and keyboard are used only in limited situation, More natural HCI methods such as speech based method and gesture based method recently attract wide attention. In this paper, we present multi-modal input system to control Windows system for practical use of multi-media computer. Our multi-modal input system consists of three parts. First one is virtual-hand mouse part. This part is to replace mouse control with a set of gestures. Second one is Windows control system using speech recognition. Third one is Windows control system using gesture recognition. We introduce neural network and HMM methods to recognize speeches and gestures. The results of three parts interface directly to CPU and through Windows.

사용자 만족도를 고려한 터치 버튼 사이즈에 대한 연구 (A User Satisfaction Based Touch Button Design)

  • This study has been conducted on touch screen interface design for mobile devices. It was intended to measure user’s satisfaction on one-handed thumb input mobile devices. Recent studies proposed the optimal touch button size, but it is inappropriate for mobile devices. Therefore, this study was focused on four touch key factors-width, height, the horizontal and vertical distance between touch keys-as independent variables. The ANOVA results showed that the user satisfaction of four touch key factors was significantly affected by the thumb input. It also apparent that the interactions between four factors were significant. As a result, the horizontal and vertical distance as well as the width and height affected the satisfaction of users. In addition, this study suggested satisfaction models which represent the top 30%, 50%, 70% of user satisfaction measurement. The results of this study could be used to design touch keys that are able to enhance the usability on touch screen based mobile devices.

대화면 FPS 게임을 위한 새로운 레이저기반 입력장치 (New Input Device for Large Screen First Person Shooter Games)

  • In this paper, we present a new game interface design for First Person Shooters (FPS). Previously, FPSs on computer are commonly played using keyboard/mouse or joystick along with PC display. We improve the communication environment between player and game world by means of new control system including large screen, laser gun, and directional device, which create a real life-like space for players. Because traditional display for FPS uses CRT, it cannot support large screen display due to limitation of CRT technology. We designed and implemented a new input device using laser recognizable display. We implemented a new FPS based on Quake III that is in accordance with the new devices. Results suggest that the combined interface creates a method which helps beginners to enjoy playing a FPS immediately and gives experienced players a new gaming experience.

  • One of the research objectives in the area of multimedia human-computer interaction is the application of artificial intelligence and robotics technologies to the development of computer interfaces. This involves utilizing many forms of media, integrating speed input, natural language, graphics, hand pointing gestures, and other methods for interactive dialogues. Although current human-computer communication methods include computer keyboards, mice, and other traditional devices, the two basic ways by which people communicate with each other are voice and gesture. This paper reports on research focusing on the development of an intelligent multimedia interface system modeled based on the manner in which people communicate. This work explores the interaction between humans and computers based only on the processing of speech(Work uttered by the person) and processing of images(hand pointing gestures). The purpose of the interface is to control a pan/tilt camera to point it to a location specified by the user through utterance of words and pointing of the hand, The systems utilizes another stationary camera to capture images of the users hand and a microphone to capture the users words. Upon processing of the images and sounds, the systems responds by pointing the camera. Initially, the interface uses hand pointing to locate the general position which user is referring to and then the interface uses voice command provided by user to fine-the location, and change the zooming of the camera, if requested. The image of the location is captured by the pan/tilt camera and sent to a color TV monitor to be displayed. This type of system has applications in tele-conferencing and other rmote operations, where the system must respond to users command, in a manner similar to how the user would communicate with another person. The advantage of this approach is the elimination of the traditional input devices that the user must utilize in order to control a pan/tillt camera, replacing them with more "natural" means of interaction. A number of experiments were performed to evaluate the interface system with respect to its accuracy, efficiency, reliability, and limitation.

  • 많은 기업들은 경영 환경의 변화와 글로벌 경쟁 속에서 경영관리의 필수요소로 자리 잡은 ERP 시스템을 도입하여 경쟁력을 강화하고 있다. 그러나 하나의 ERP 시스템만으로 기업에서 발생하는 모든 요구 사항을 만족시킬 수 없기에 시스템 도입 후에도 기존 시스템을 결합하여 운용하거나 새로운 시스템을 도입하기도 하며 각 기업의 ERP 시스템들이 연결, 통합되기도 한다. 이와 같은 이유로 ERP 출현과 함께 보다 강력하고 편리한 인터페이스 기술에 대한 필요성이 점차 증가해왔다. 본 연구에서는 ERP 시스템 중 기업들이 가장 많이 사용하는 SAP R/3 시스템을 채택하였고, SAP R/3의 여러 모듈 중 MM 모듈을 선택하여, MM 모듈 내의 구매요청 데이터의 입력과 처리를 위해 R/3 시스템에서 제공하고 있는 인터페이스 기술과 함께 새로이 VBA 기술을 사용하여 SAP R/3 시스템의 새로운 데이터 인터페이스를 설계 및 구현 방안을 제시하였다. 이 방안의 장점은 사용자 관점에서 시스템 사용에 대한 거부감을 줄일 수 있으며 보다 편리한 구매요청 데이터 입력과 출력으로 업무 효율성을 높일 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.
