Manufacturing Technique on the U Type Draw-Bending of Inner Groove Tube (Inner groove tube의 U형 Draw-Bending 가공기술에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the manufacturing technique on the U type Draw-Bending of inner groove tube. The U type tube requires the quality of product that satisfy sufficient conditions for a heat exchanger. The mandrel components act the important roles that prevent wrinkles and keep the shape of cross section of bended tube at bending process. We performed the FEM simulation using LS-DYNA software and the bending test of inner groove tube and then, compared bending simulation with bending test results about mandrel ball diameter, mandrel position and optimal clearance between mandrel and tube.

  • Recently, CNC lathe is in need of higher speed for precision works. So more intensive and compact heat exchanger is necessary to cool down the heat in short time from drills and works during high speed working. In this study, to increase heat transfer coefficient per unit volume, inner groove tube is designed and compact oil cooler, 57% volume of conventional type, is manufactured. The heat transfer performance is experimented and is compared with the performance of conventional type.

Heat Flow Analysis of Inner Groove Tube for Latent Heat Exchanger in Condensing Gas Boiler (콘덴싱 가스보일러 잠열교환기의 이너 그루브 튜브 열유동 해석)

  • These days, household condensing gas boilers are an obligatory trend. The use of environmentally-friendly boilers that emit less pollutant, such as CO and NOx, are strongly recommended. In this paper, heat flow analysis of the additional inner groove in the tube of the secondary latent heat exchanger was studied to increase the efficiency. A 20% difference in the heat transfer area was obtained with the addition of an inner grove, which showed an increase in the amount of heat transferred. This was confirmed using three-dimensional numerical analysis. With the addition of an inner groove, the exit temperature increased by $1^{\circ}C$. This increase in exit temperature was considered to be a substantial increase in the efficiency of the condensing gas boiler.

Influence of surfactant on heat transfer of air-cooled vertical absorber (공냉식 수직 흡수기의 열전달에 미치는 계면활성제의 영향)

  • This research was concerned with the enhancement of heat transfer by surfactant added to the aqueous solution of LiBr. Different vertical tubes were tested with and without an additive of normal octyl alcohol. The test tubes were a bare inner surface, groove inner surface, corrugated inner surface and spring inserted inner surface tubes. The additive concentration was about 0.08 mass%. The heat transfer coefficient was measured as a function of film Reynolds number in the range of 20~200. Experiments were tarried out at higher cooling water temperature of $35^{\circ}C$ to simulate an air cooling condition for several kinds of absorber testing tubes. The experimental results were compared with cases without surfactant. The enhancement of heat transfer by Marangoni convection effect which was generated by addition of the surfactant is observed in each test tube. Especially, it is clarified that the tube with an inserted spring has the highest enhancement effect.

  • This study was concerned with the enhancement of mass transfer by surfactant added to the aqueous solution of LiBr. Different vertical inner tubes were tested with and without an additive of normal octyl alcohol. The test tubes were a bare tube, groove tube, corrugate tube and inserted spring tubes. The additive concentration of normal octyl alcohol as a surfactant is about 0.08mass%. The Sherwood number was measured as a function of film Reynolds number 20~200. The experimental results were compared with those which use no surfactant. The enhancement of mass transfer by Marangoni convection effect which was generated by addition of the surfactant is proved for each testing tube Especially, it is clarified that the tube with the spring has the highest enhancement effect. A correlation of the experimental mass transfer data for the bare, groove, corrugate and insert spring tubes results expressed as the form of Sh=cㆍ Re$_{f}$ $^{n}$ .

Effects of the Groove Type Tubes on Friction Factors in the Annuli (이중관에서 홈형튜브가 압력강하에 미치는 효과)

  • The present paper is to present the results of studied of pressure drop in annuli with corrugated and spirally fluted inner tubes for the turbulent flow regime. To understand the underlying physical phenomena responsible for heat transfer enhancement, flow mechanism documented elsewhere are combined with pressure drop measurements to confirm the friction factors obtained from the annuli with the grooved inner tubes for the Reynolds number of 1000 to 8000. Friction factors were found to be functions of trough depth, pitch and angle, and the annulus radius ratio. friction factor increases in the spirally fluted tubes were larger than those in the corrugated tubes.
