Ventilatory responses to inhaled $CO_2$ were measured during continuous negative pressure breathing (CNPB) in awake dogs. End expiratory lung volume (EELV) decreased linearly with pressure level during CNPB (correlation coefficient= 0.81, p<0.005) during air breathing. When CNPB was applied during 5% $CO_2$ inhalation, the decrease in EELV was not significantly different (p<0.5) from that during air breathing. As a result of a lowered EELV, tidal volume ($V_T$) significantly decreased by 22% and breathing frequency ($f_B$) increased by 68% in the steady state during air breathing (p<0.0001). These responses were similar during 5% $CO_2$ inhalation, thus the $CO_2$ response curve measured during CNPB shifted upward without a change in sensitivity (p>0.05). These results indicate additive effects of CNPB and $CO_2$ inhalation. The degree of hyperventilation during CNPB at eupnea was estimated to be 63% of that during control ventilation and was significantly greater than zero (p<0.0001), which suggests an alveolar hyperventilation due to CNPB. These results suggest that the mechanical alterations associated with n decrease in lung volume could play an important role in ventilatory control independently of chemical regulation of breathing. Thus, exercise hyperpnea, which is associated with a lowered functional residual capacity (FRC), may in part be explained by this mechanical stimulation of breathing.

The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of Chamaecyparis obtusa essential oil on the activity of autonomic nervous system. Heart rate variability (HRV), as an indicator of autonomic nervous system activity and blood pressure were measured before and after inhalation of Chamaecyparis obtusa essential oil. The systolic blood pressure was decreased by inhalation of Chamaecyparis obtusa essential oil (p<0.05). The diastolic blood pressure was not changed significantly by Chamaecyparis obtusa. High frequency (HF) power level was not changed but High frequency/Low frequency (HF/LF) ratio was decreased by Chamaecyparis obtusa essential oil (p<0.05), meaning that parasympathetic nervous system activity was not affected but sympathetic nervous system activity was decreased. These results indicate that Chamaecyparis obtusa essential oil has a modulatory effect on the autonomic nervous system activity.

The research design was a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design. The subjects were a total 60 patients of each group 30 patients that were operated on under general anesthesia for upper and lower limbs surgery. The tool of the Amsterdam preoperative anxiety information scale(APAIS), systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and pulse rate levels was measured the day before surgery. The data were analyzed by the $x^2$ test Fisher's exact test, paird t-test, and the independent t-test using SPSS 20.0. Study result indicated that Lavender aroma therapy had the effect on reduction of anxiety before surgery and reduction of blood pressure, and pulse rate levels. Therefore, the study result could be used as a scientifical data that can be applied to the nursing interventions that use the aroma inhalation method and contributing to development of the holistic nursing care.
The influence of essential oils from aboriginal softwoods as Pinus densiflora, Pinus koraiensis, Chamaecyparis obtusa and Chamaecyparis pisifera on the motor coordination, pulse, mean blood artery pressure and pain reducing test was investigated in mice and rats. The motor coordination of mouse was not induced by the inhalation of each oil. Furthermore, these oils did not alter the changes of the mean blood pressure and pulse rate. Chamaecyparis pisifera trand to reduce the mean blood pressure. The abdominal pain induced by acetic acid was reduced only by an essential oil from Pinus koraiensis in mouse.
The automatic operating system was designed and built to work manless multipurpose in greenhouse. The system proved to be a reliable system for performing multipurpose functions. Its development involved the integration of moving part, height control part, watering part, ventilation part and inhalation part. The moving part was able to be moved it on the rail installed in greenhouse, the height control part controled it up and down by height of the crops, the watering part sprinkled a agricultural medicines on the crops and the ventilation and the inhalation part ventilated and inhaled different thing and vermin which were attached on crops. Based on the results of this study the following conclusions were made: The moving velocity was changed 0.047 - 0.027 m/s by the dial transfer. The velocity within 50 cm from center of the entrance was 0.2 m/s. The watering volume of spray increased as the pressure of spray was high. The difference of spray pressure between 10 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 15 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was 60 ml, but that of spray pressure between 15 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 20 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was 20 ml. The average speed of a current of inhalation was 3.64 m/s and the inhalation flux of inhalation was measured 0.044 ㎥/s by using glues seed and styrofoam.
Adult nonpregnant female rabbits were subjected to the study of the effects of carbon monoxide inhalation on the uterine motility. Animals were anesthetized with intravenous injection of nembutal, 35 mg/kg, and the uteri were exposed. Polyethylene tubing which had a small hole near the blind tip was inserted in the loop and normal saline was infused at a constant rate of 1.5 ml/min. On the other end of the loop, an outlet of fluid was made. When a peristaltic wave proceeded to the hole, a rise of the pressure was ensued and it was transmitted to the pressure transducer, making an upward deflection of the recording pen on the physiograph. Carbon monoxide, 1,000 ppm in the concentration, was inhaled through a tracheal cannula for 30 minutes, following fresh air for 30 minutes. In some cases, pure oxygen was also supplemented for another 30 minutes. Uterine motility was expressed in terms of the impulse that was the time integral of the pressure and of the frequency of the peristaltic waves. The results obtained were as follows. 1. When 1,000 ppm carbon monoxide was inhaled for 30 minutes, the impulse dropped to $72{\pm}16.5%$ and the frequency to $75{\pm}22.7%$ of the values obtained before the gas administration. 2. By fresh air for 30 minutes, the impulse and the frequency restored to $77{\pm}25.7%$ and $92{\pm}21.1%$, respectively. 3. By the supplement of pure oxygen for 30 minutes, no remarkable improvement were revealed, showing $89{\pm}35.2%$ in the impulse and $91{\pm}10.8%$ in the frequency, respectively. 4. There was an appreciable discrepancy in the recovery courses of the impulse and the frequency, suggesting different mechanisms attributable to the alteration by carbon monoxide inhalation.
Purpose : This study was performed to evaluate the antistress effects of two aromatic blends being composed of synergic essential oils and also to differentiate its effectiveness between two. Methods : The subject were 20(10 for men, 10 for women) for vital factors and another 20(10 for mem, 10 for women) for serum catecholamine. Vital factors(blood pressure, pulse), electroencephalograpy, psychological tests(SACL, STAI) and serum catecholamine were applied to the subjects. Results : 1. All two aromatic synergic blends revealed no significant differnce of vital factors after inhalation but stable conditions generally by lowering pulse and blood pressure after inhalation. 2. Both blends were significantly valuable in antianxiety and antistress effects statistically. There were no statistically difference between two blends. 3. There were no significant difference in all brain waves after inhalation of two blends but generally stable brain waves were seen in all areas. 4. There were antistress effects of both blends in accordance of decreased serum catecholamines after inhalation of both blends. There were no significantly difference between two blends statistically. Conclusion : Both two aromatic synergic blends reached effective antistress and antianxiety states after inhalation of each blends. There were no significant difference between two blends. Further studies about the effectiveness between the amount of aromatic essential oils and the duration of inhalation should be considered. Also clinical applications of these two aromatic synergic blending oils to develop the aromatic products would be affordable in the future.

The data collection period was from November 14, 2022 to December 19, 2022. A questionnaire consisting of stress, pain, depression, and blood pressure was measured before and after the aroma roll-on inhalation intervention. The components of aroma essential oil included Marjoram, Geranium, Peppermint and Orange sweet that were diluted in Jojoba oil which was the carrier oil. The aroma inhalation method with roll-on was carried out 3 times day for 4 weeks. In the result of this study, the aroma inhalation method with roll-on were statistically significant differences in stress(t=2.63, p=.013), pain(t=2.46, p=.019), and systolic blood pressure(t=3.01, p=.005) of the participants. Therefore, aroma roll-on therapy is expected to be available as a useful nursing intervention method for reducing stress, relieving pain, and managing blood pressure in the elderly using the senior citizen clubs.
During the decommissioning of the nuclear facilities, the radioactive gases in pressure vessels may leak due to the demolition operations. The decommissioning site has large space, slow air circulation, and many large nuclear facilities, which increase the difficulty of workers' inhalation exposure assessment. In order to dynamically evaluate the activity distribution of radionuclides and the committed effective dose from inhalation in nuclear decommissioning environment, an inhalation exposure assessment method based on the modified eddy-diffusion model and the inhaled dose conversion factor is proposed in this paper. The method takes into account the influence of building, facilities, exhaust ducts, etc. on the distribution of radioactive gases, and can evaluate the influence of radioactive gases diffusion on workers during the decommissioning of nuclear facilities.
