With the advances in Information Technology (IT), users can download or stream copyrighted works, such as videos, music, and webtoons, at their convenience. Thus, the frequency of use of copyrighted works has increased. Consequently, the number of unauthorized copies and sharing of copyrighted works has also increased. Monitoring is being conducted on sites suspected of conducting copyright infringement activities to reduce copyright holders' damage due to unauthorized sharing of copyrighted works. However, suspected copyright infringement sites respond by changing their domains or blocking access requests. Although research has been conducted for improving the effectiveness of suspected copyright infringement site detection by defining suspected copyright infringement sites' response techniques as a lifecycle step, there is a paucity of studies on automation techniques for lifecycle detection. This has reduced the accuracy of lifecycle step detection on suspected copyright infringement sites, which change domains and lifecycle steps in a short period of time. Thus, in this paper, an automated detection technique for suspected copyright infringement sites is proposed for efficient detection and response to suspected copyright infringement sites. Using our proposed technique, the response to each lifecycle step can be effectively conducted by automatically detecting the lifecycle step.

In the digital world, the transactions of assets with intrinsic value can be applied to games, literature, art, and music by issuing NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) based on Blockchain; various NFT exchanges are emerging accordingly just like real world asset exchanges. However, there could be an issue of copyright infringement in those NFT transactions. Therefore, this paper has classified the types of copyright infringement that may occur in NFT exchanges and proposes the copyright infringement countermeasures according to them. For this purpose, 10 types of NFT exchange are examined. Eventually, it can be expected that the proposed countermeasures will contribute to the revitalization of the NFT market by providing solutions for those issues.

Recently, with the diversification of media services and the development of smart devices, users have more opportunities to use digital content, such as movies, dramas, and music; consequently, the size of the copyright market expands simultaneously. However, there are piracy sites that generate revenue by illegal use of copyrighted works. This has led to losses for copyright holders, and the scale of copyrighted works infringed due to the ever-increasing number of piracy sites has increased. To prevent this, government agencies respond to copyright infringement by monitoring piracy sites using online monitoring and countermeasure strategies for infringement. However, the detection and blocking process consumes a significant amount of time when compared to the rate of generating new piracy sites. Hence, online monitoring is less effective. Additionally, given that piracy sites are sophisticated and refined in the same way as legitimate sites, it is necessary to accurately distinguish and block a site that is involved in copyright infringement. Therefore, in this study, we analyze features of piracy sites and based on this analysis, we propose an intelligent detection technique for piracy sites that automatically classifies and detects whether a site is involved in infringement.

Technology and culture are converging with various industries to create added value of contents. In addition, the country is creating a foundation environment for grafting new technologies onto the cultural content. However, copyright infringement by voice demand and supply is continuously occurring for cultural contents with copyright, and more and more recently, there have been increasing cases of creating and operating sites with servers overseas to bypass monitoring on infringement sites. To prevent this, various copyright protection studies are under way in many areas, but the current detection and prevention technologies are largely reactive and therefore have problems of effectiveness. Accordingly, this paper proposes a model of the lifecycle of copyright infringement site to lay the foundation for preemptive response to the distribution of illegal copies through analysis of the lifecycle of copyright infringement site.

With the increase in copyright content exports to overseas markets due to the recent globalization of the Korean culture, the added value of the Korean digital content market is increasing at a significant rate. As such, as the size of the copyright market increases, different piracy sites have emerged that generate profits by illegally distributing works without the permission of the copyright holders, resulting in direct and indirect damage to these copyright holders. The existing copyright detection methods used in public institutions for solving this problem are limited, while the piracy sites are ever-changing. Methods are being continuously developed to achieve better detection results. To this end, it is possible to detect the latest infringement site domain by detecting the infringement site domain that is constantly changed through the search engine. This paper proposes an improved piracy site detection method using a search engine to prevent the damage caused by piracy sites.

When looking at the online copyright infringement, the advertisements have served as a revenue source. Recently, copyright holders and state agencies have requested to stop and withdraw posting the ad. in order to prevent copyright infringement. This way is very easy and efficient. However, the problem is that it is not clear whether the request is appropriate. For the request to be valid, posting the ad. should be a kind of indirect infringement, or if not, it must have a suitable reason. If there is no basis or reason for the two, the request should not be asked recklessly. In the US relevant cases, something more than simple relationship with direct infringers or more material contribution to the direct infringement is required to impose secondary liability for copyright infringement. However, just posting the ad. cannot be considered as the close relationship and moreover, it is not material contribution. Thus, posting the ad. is not secondarily liable for copyright infringement. In addition, the bills which was proposed in 2011, so called SOPA and PIPA, had a provision which can stop and withdraw the ads in the piracy sites. Its opponents raised the following problems: withdrawing the ad. is the censorship, gives the burdensome to the sites, and causes the imbalance due to the overload protection of copyright. Also, under the ad blocker case, to remove the ad. discretionally consists of illegal activity or copyright infringement. As a result, because the request to stop and withdraw posting the ad. is not reasonable, the request should be asked carefully.

Nigeria Copyright Commission is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring adherence to the copyright law in Nigeria. However, it has been observed in the last decade that copyright right issue is still rampant in Nigeria. Therefore, this study analyzed cases that the Commission in involved in between years 2008 to 2018. The study adopted citation analysis. The study collected data from three selected law reports, which include Intellectual Property Law Reports, Nigerian Weekly Law Reports and Nigeria Law Intellectual Property Watch. It was found that Nigerian Law Intellectual Property Watch has the highest number of reports of cases involving Nigerian Copyright Commission while none was reported by Nigerian Weekly Law Reports. It was also found that most of the cases handled by the Commission were on copyright infringement. The study concludes that Nigerian Copyright Commission has been paying credible attention to issue that surrounds software infringement but there has been little attention paid to book piracy. Moreover, it was established that the poor attention given to book piracy may entrench the publication of pirated copy and would subsequently lead to poor library service provision at the long run.

This study on parody and especially parody in advertising, deals with the basic concepts of parody in advertising, as well as copyright infringement issues highlighting the different legal interpretations in American and Korean law when dealing with indiscreet cases of parody in advertising. some suggestions are made on desirable and forword-looking solutions. Different to the acceptance of parody in the American culture, Korean law was limiting in allowing parody to be used and applied. In order to solve copyright issues concerning parody, the following points need to be addressed and analyzed; ·First, plagiarism, imitation, and the dear outline of deliberation standards about parody. ·Second, the expansion of the deliberation body aid explicit application of deliberation standards. ·Third, the trying for self-improvement of the advertising industry itself. ·Fourth, the development and advancement of consumer monitoring. ·Firth, the review of judicial precedents along with tile vocalization of the advertising industry's ideas and concepts on the matter.

Facts, which constitute news, are as free as air. When they are transformed into news via labor and capital investment of a news organization, the news is deemed to have property values, and the media can claim exclusive rights over the news. The copyright law protects the originality of a work, the uniqueness of reporter's analysis, the selection of words, the arrangement of materials, and the emphasis given on particular points. The name of the game of copyright infringement lies in the infringement of the similarity of the method of expression, not the infringement of the subject. Even though news articles convey information by specifying factual elements of an event or accident, they still have some originality. The judgement that news articles lack of originality is inconsistent with the purpose of the copyright law. Therefore, the law should be amended to articulate that the unauthorized use of news articles without a proper citation shall be the subject of legal action, and courts should decide related cases accordingly.

Plagiarism in which people use other people's works partially or in entirety as if they are their own and infringement on copyrights that frequently occur in various forms under smart device environment are becoming one of the crucial problems that need to be solved for Korea to become an advanced nation. This paper investigates and analyzes how college students, the heaviest user of smart devices under various smart device environment, are committing plagiarism and copyright infringement and suggest a basic education plan to prevent plagiarism and copyright infringement. College students have a very low awareness of plagiarism and copyrights and the level of violation associated with plagiarism and copyrights infringement they commit from elementary school to college were found to be at a serious level. It was demonstrated that the solution suggested in this paper to solve these problems would be effective in enhancing the awareness of the bad effect of plagiarism and copyrights infringement along with their side effects.
