현대 사회는 정보화에 대한 인식이 크게 보편화되면서 정보 통신 기술에 대한 개발이 급속화 되고 있는 추세이다. 특히 모바일 기기에 대한 기술 또한 빠르게 진행됨에 따라 자신이 원하는 정보를 언제 어디서나 제공받기를 기대한다. 이에 따라 편리한 정보검색을 위한 이미지 검색이 보편화 되고 있다. 하지만 일반적인 이미지 검색은 이미지에서의 문자영역 추출의 부정확성과 추출된 문자로 상세한 정보를 얻는데 어려움이 따른다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 촬영한 영상에서 문자인식을 통해 관광지를 포함한 여러 상점들의 간판을 인식하여 사용자에게 편리한 정보제공을 목적으로 하고 있으며, Top-Hat이라는 문자추출 방법과 서버를 함께 연동시키므로 시킴으로써 보다 정확하고 상세한 정보를 얻을 수 있다.

GPS 관측기법을 지적측량에 도입하기 위하여 GPS를 이용한 새로운 지적측량 모형(Model)을 정립하는 연구와 관련 기술들을 개발하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이와 같은 추세에 발맞추어 GPS 자료처리 및 기준점 성과산출과 관련하여 국내·외 측량 관련 상용 GPS 자료처리 소프트웨어의 현황 및 성능을 파악하고, 자료처리 알고리즘을 분석하여, 우리 실정에 적합한 GPS 자료처리 소프트웨어를 개발하는 것을 본 연구의 목적으로 한다. 본 연구에서는 국내ㆍ외의 전문 업체, 기관(대학)이 보유하고 있는 상용 소프트웨어 현황 분석 및 자료처리 방법에 따른 오차 발생을 연구하여 기선해석, 망 조정, 좌표변환 등에 관련된 전문 소프트웨어 기능을 비교 분석하여 자료처리 산출성과의 정확도를 향상시키는 방향을 모색한다. 또한 기존 GPS 자료처리 소프트웨어에 적용된 알고리즘을 분석하고 지적측량성과 산출에 최적인 알고리즘을 연구하여 새로운 지적기준점 성과 산출을 위한 지적측량 성과계산 소프트웨어를 개발한다.

일반적으로 병렬처리가 필요한 경우 병렬처리 전용으로 제조된 시스템을 사용하지만, 가까운 주위에서 쉽게 얻을 수 있는 PC들을 클러스터로 구축하여 병렬처리에 활용할 수도 있다. PC들을 클러스터로 구축하기 위한 가장 쉬운 방법은 PC들을 스위치 허브 중심의 스타 네트워크로 연결하는 방법이지만, 이 논문에서는 병렬처리 연구 및 활용에 더 적합하도록 8개의 PC들이 직접 연결된 클러스터 구축을 위한 TCP/IP 기반 하이퍼큐브 네트워크의 효율적인 구현 방안을 모색하고, 그 기능 및 효율성을 ping, netperf, MPICH 등의 도구를 이용하여 검증하였다. 구현 방안으로 링크 위주의 IP 설정 방법과 노드 위주의IP 설정 방법을 제안하고 두 방법을 비교 분석하였는데, 그 결과 두 방법간에 시간적 성능 차이는 없지만 라우팅 테이블의 단순화 측면에서 노드 위주의 IP설정 방법이 우수함을 볼 수 있었다. 기능적 측면을 검증하기 위하여 응용프로그램의 병렬처리 결과를 스타 네트워크 기반클러스터에서의 결과와 비교하였는데, 두 방법 모두 완벽한 병렬처리 환경을 지원하는 것으로 나타났다.

클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스는 경제성, 확장성, 보안성, 공유성, 접근성 등에서 특장점이 있기 때문에 단순한 사무용 시스템에서 전문적 과학정보처리까지 여러 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 그러나 공간정보 분야, 특히 원격탐사 분야에서는 연구나 기술 개발 단계가 아직 초기 수준이다. 이번 연구에서는 기존 연구에서 구축한 스마트폰 위성영상 정보처리 시스템을 아마존 웹 서비스와 연계된 모바일 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경으로 이동하고 연산 성능 향상을 위해 병렬처리 프로그래밍 기법을 적용하였다. 앞으로 모바일 클라우드 컴퓨팅 서비스에 대한 산업적 수요와 관련 기술개발 사례가 증가할 것이므로 이 연구에서는 주로 영상처리 기능에 대한 성능 측정 실험을 우선적으로 수행하였다. 모바일 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경의 운영이나 서비스 방식이 다양한 데, 이번 연구에서 적용된 실험 조건에서는 클라우드 서버가 단일 서버 방식에 비하여 성능이 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 모바일 클라우드를 위성영상정보처리와 연계하기 위한 예비 연구이다.

Communication, Ocean, and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) to be launched in year 2008 will be the first Korean multi-purpose geostationary satellite aiming at three major missions, i.e.: communication, ocean, and meteorological applications. The development of systems for the meteorological mission sponsored by the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) consists of payloads, ground system, and data processing system. The program called COMS Meteorological Data Processing System (CMDPS) has been initiated for the development of data processing system. The primary objective ofCMDPS is to derive the level-2 environmental products from geo-Iocated and calibrated level 1.5 COMS data. Preliminary design for the level-2 data processing system consists of 16 baseline products and will be refined by end of 3rd project year. Also considered for the development are the necessary initial information such as land use and digital elevation map, algorithms for the vicarious calibration and procedures for the calibration monitoring, and radiative transfer model. Here, we briefly introduce the overall development strategy, flow chart for the intended baseline products, a few preliminary algorithm results and future plans.

One of the characteristics of both on-line analytical processing(OLAP) applications and decision support systems is to provide aggregated source data. The purpose of this study is to discuss on the aggregation of multi-dimensional data. In this paper, we (1) examine the SQL aggregate functions and the GROUP BY operator, (2) introduce the Data Cube and MDX, (3) present an example for the practical usage of the Data Cube and MDX using sample data.

This paper's purpose i to obtain tracking information of an object using a camera. This system embodies to know tracking information of an object using Kalman filtering. As we use java program, it is possible to make system regardless of operating system, set up the system. We used an comfortable USB port camera everywhere without the capture board. We can use the internet by using the applet and JMF everywhere. We regard the camera as fixed.

The purpose of this paper is to measure jitter between two server systems. Given 3 empirical models as user and port parallel server types under some conditions of 100 Mbps and optimal CPU temperature suggested by Lee and Kim(2005), our results are shown; jitter was usually measured above 3000 ms in most empirical cases, jumping points were observed around 250 processing traffics, and port parallel model was optimal in our cases.

The production, storage, processing and distribution of information is fast becoming a major economic activity for many nations of the world. The basic idea of this study is that knowledge and information are becoming the strategic resources and transforming agents in the information society. Therefore, in order to cope with successfully the transition toward the information society, the development of measurement tools and social indicators is essential. The purpose of this study is to fulfill three major objectives with regard to the analysis of the information sector in the information society. (1) This study suggests the theoretical definitions and social indicators of the information society. (2) This study investigates an empirical study of the information sector consisting of information industry, information workforce, and information indicator of the selected nations. (3) It advances theoretical explanations of the major factors of the growth of the information sector, and develops theoretical hypothesis and explanations of the information society.

현재 및 미래의 다양한 통신망에서 멀티미디어 회의 관련 응용 서비스를 구현하기 위해서는 기본적인 회의 서비스에 관련된 규약이 필요하며 이와 관련하여 제정된 규약이 MCS(Multipoint Communication Service)이다. 본 논문은 멀티미디어 회의 시스템을 위하여 국제 표준으로 권고되어 있는 다지점 통신 서비스(MCS)를 구현하기 위하여 관련 자료를 분석하고, 이를 근간으로 하여 알고리즘의 제안하고 이를 UMX machine 및 windows/NT cachine에서 구현하였다.
