  • A smart grid is a next-generation power grid that can improve energy efficiency by applying information and communication technology to the general power grid. The smart grid makes it possible to exchange information about electricity production and consumption between electricity providers and consumers in real-time. Advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is the core technology of the smart grid. The AMI provides two-way communication by installing a modem in an existing digital meter and typically include smart meters, data collection units, and meter data management systems. Because the AMI requires data collection units to control multiple smart meters, it is essential to ensure network availability under heavy network loads. If the load on the work done by the data collection unit is high, it is necessary to allocation new data collection units to ensure availability and improve energy efficiency. In this paper, we discuss the allocation scheme of data collection units for the energy efficiency of the AMI.

  • The Korea Information Infrastructure aims at the construction of an advanced national information infrastructure, consisting of communication networks, computers, databases and multimedia terminals. In the emerging information society, a well-established national information network plays a crucial role in enhancing economic efficiency and creating national wealth. Till 2015, government plans to construct an Information Superhighway Network and to provide a telecommunication service for speedy transmission of multi-media typed information and development of various applied programs, which help government's commitment to establish nationwide infrastructure to perform a leading role as a high level information society in the 21st century. In the field of health education, the research monograph contains three main parts: health education and information, acceptability of health education; development of health education management information system. In the most remote areas, it can bring high-quality health care where none is now available. In global health care, it can enhance and standardize the quality of medical care throughout the world. Before enlarging the establishment of the health education network system, the issues from this study should be considered to improve the health status through the introduction of information technology and applications in health care.

  • It comes into the spotlight as the new Blue Ocean in which the connected car industry in which the car and mobile communication technology is convergence. All sorts of infortainments services connecting with the portable electronic device(Smart phone, tablet PC, and MP3 player) and car are rapidly grown. The Connected car emphasizes the vehicle connectivity with the concept that the car has communication with the around on a real time basis and it provides the safety and expedience to the operator and using the thing of Internet (IoT) in the car and supports the application, presently, the entertainment service including the real-time Navigation, parking assistant function, not only the remote vehicle control and management service but also Email, multimedia streaming service, SNS and with the platform. Intelligent vehicle network is studied as the kind according to MANET(Mobile Ad Hoc Network) for the safety operation of the cars of the road and improving the efficiency of the driving. The intelligent vehicle network is comprised for the driving information offering changing rapidly of the communication(V2V: Vehicle to Vehicle) between the car and the car, communication(V2I : Vehicle to Infrastructure) between the infrastructure and the car, and V2X (Vehicle to Nomadic).

  • In this paper, geographic information system(GIS) for an intelligent power distribution network was implemented with location informations acquired from automatic meter reading system, where the location informations of power line communication(PLC) modems installed at customer side were collected at data concentration units(DCUs) of headend equipment via PLC and then were transmitted to front end processor server. By displaying the connection status of the power distribution network on GIS map, operation of advanced metering infrastructure(AMI) or management of power grid system could be performed intuitionally and in real time, because the configuration state of the power grid could be easily monitored. The feasibility of the proposed system was confirmed with the especially constructed laboratory-level test bed and the verification test of the system will be carried out for a real power distribution network.

  • Distributing a Certificate Revocation List (CRL) quickly to all vehicles in the system requires a very large number of road side units (RSUs) to be deployed. In reality, initial deployment stage of vehicle networks would be characterized by limited infrastructure as a result in very limited vehicle to infrastructure communication. However, every vehicle wants the most recent CRLs to protect itself from malicious users and malfunctioning equipments, as well as to increase the overall security of the vehicle networks. To address this challenge, we design and implement a nomadic device based CRL acquisition method using nomadic device's communication capability with cellular networks. When a vehicle could not directly communicate with nearby RSUs, the nomadic device acts as a security mediator to perform vehicle's security functions continuously through cellular networks. Therefore, even if RSUs are not deployed or sparsely deployed, vehicle's security threats could be minimized by receiving the most recent CRLs in a reasonable time.

  • Multihop data delivery in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) suffers from the fact that vehicles are highly mobile and inter-vehicle links are frequently disconnected. In such networks, for efficient multihop routing of road safety information (e.g. road accident and emergency message) to the area of interest, reliable communication and fast delivery with minimum delay are mandatory. In this paper, we propose a multihop vehicle-to-infrastructure routing protocol named Vertex-Based Predictive Greedy Routing (VPGR), which predicts a sequence of valid vertices (or junctions) from a source vehicle to fixed infrastructure (or a roadside unit) in the area of interest and, then, forwards data to the fixed infrastructure through the sequence of vertices in urban environments. The well known predictive directional greedy routing mechanism is used for data forwarding phase in VPGR. The proposed VPGR leverages the geographic position, velocity, direction and acceleration of vehicles for both the calculation of a sequence of valid vertices and the predictive directional greedy routing. Simulation results show significant performance improvement compared to conventional routing protocols in terms of packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay and routing overhead.

  • Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) utilize radio propagation models (RPMs) to predict path loss in vehicular environment. Modern urban vehicular environment contains road infrastructure units that include road tunnels, straight roads, curved roads flyovers and underpasses. Different RPMs were proposed in the past to predict path loss, but modern road infrastructure units especially flyovers and underpasses are neglected previously. Most of the existing RPMs are computationally complex and ignore some of the critical features such as impact of infrastructure units on the signal propagation and the effect of both static and moving radio obstacles on signal attenuation. Therefore, the existing RPMs are incapable of predicting path loss in flyovers and underpass accurately. This paper proposes an RPM to predict path loss for vehicular communication on flyovers and inside underpasses that considers both the static and moving radio obstacles while requiring only marginal overhead. The proposed RPM is validated based upon the field measurements in 5 GHz frequency band. A close agreement is found between the measured and predicted values of path loss.

  • While South Korea's wire and witless communications attain a world-wide level in the latest information-oriented society, North Korea's communications infra get fared with underdeveloped situation even not to meet a basic telephone demand as the 70's in South korea. The exchange and cooperation between the Sout h and North' korea's in the formation & telecommunication field implies the important point that makes ready for the reunification of North and South as the core of the exchange and cooperation in an economic and society, other field. Therefore a communications satellite as the infrastructure for the network construction preparing the reunification can be the most suitable plan for the communication infrastructure in korea's area be cause it is easy to build a network and gets an advantage to service all area of south anti north korea at a n/time.

  • ICT infrastructure is electronic control systems or communication network related to national security, public administration, defense, policing, finance. Water resources sector has been building a system of control that can be performed electronically, communications, management, energy, and other work-related. Water resources sector has been a paradigm shift in water management and the control system is integrated into a single network. The control system security vulnerabilities are exposed - other control networks, business networks, linking with outside agencies, etc. Cyber terrorist society can cause a huge mess economically, The importance of security for control systems is becoming. In this paper, ICT infrastructure - the water resources in the field of control systems will analysis security measures.
